Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menjelaskan Afiks Derivatif Bahasa Melayu Riau (BMR). Data diperoleh dari data lisan dan tulisan. Metode yang digunakan mengikut Sudaryanto (1993) dan Mahsun (2005). Pembahasan didasarkan pada teori Chaer (2008). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan afiks derivasi BMR terdiri dari {meN-}, {beR-}, {peR-}, {teR-}, dan {beR-kan}. Makna yang ditimbulkan afiks-afiks ini adalah ‘kausatif’, memakai atau menggunakan’, ‘mengatakan’, ‘profesi’, ‘memanggil’, ‘menganggap sebagai’, ‘menyerupai’, ‘kontinuatif’, ‘mengeluarkan suara’, ‘menuju ke’, ‘memperoleh’, ‘refleksif’, dan ‘mengendarai.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui persepsi guru terhadap penggunaan Tiktok sebagai media untuk mengembangkan keterampilan mendengarkan siswa dan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan Tiktok untuk mengembangkan keterampilan mendengarkan siswa. Penelitian ini dilakukan di MTS YPI Lubuk Pakam. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini adalah wawancara dan angket. Soal dibagikan kepada guru dan siswa. Responden kuesioner adalah Guru Bahasa Inggris dan siswa MTS YPI Lubuk Pakam. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa persepsi guru baik terhadap pengembangan keterampilan mendengarkan siswa dalam menggunakan media Tiktok. Hal ini terlihat dari hasil penghitungan berdasarkan angket, sebesar 75,46% setuju jika Tiktok merupakan media yang baik untuk mengembangkan keterampilan mendengarkan siswa. Artinya Tiktok sebagai media pembelajaran bahasa Inggris untuk mengembangkan keterampilan mendengarkan siswa efektif bagi siswa.

Abstract

This research is aimed at improving the reading comprehension of MTs Al-Washliyah Jati Rejo, Kec.Galang grade VIII students using QAR strategy. In conducting this study, the researcher applied Classroom Action Research (CAR) as the method of research. It was conducted in two cycles and each cycle consisted of four phases: planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. This research answered two questions (1) How is the implementation of using Question Answer Relationship (QAR) to enhance the students’ reading comprehension in the narrative text at the eight grade of MTs Al-Washliyah Jati Rejo, Kec.Galang in the academic year of 2019/2020? (2) How is the result of the use of Question-Answer Relationship (QAR) strategy in the narrative text at the eight grade of MTs Al-Washliyah Jati Rejo, Kec.Galang in the academic year of 2019/2020? In reference to the application of the two cycles, the results of the research revealed that the use of schema activation strategy successfully improved the students‘ reading comprehension. The students’ interest and attention in the process of teaching and learning English, especially reading, reading improved. They were also able to explore many words related to the topic of the lesson. In relation to their comprehension of English texts, the students were able to identify main ideas and supporting details of paragraphs correctly

Abstract

This research is a qualitative research that discusses the survival of the Angkola Mandailing language ecolexicon. This research uses the study of ecolinguistics and lexical semantics. This research data is in the form of Kuling-kuling Anca song lyrics. The data were analyzed using the distributional method. The results of this study indicate that the ecolexicon in Kuling-Kuling Anca song lyrics are parahu 'boat', kukang 'loris', pahu 'fern plant', bulu 'bamboo tree', and rambutan 'rambutan fruit'. These five lexicons still survive in Angkola Mandailing because the song Kuling-Kuling Anca is often played in the Angkola Mandailing area and these lexicons are also still found in the area. From the results of this study, it is known that the introduction of regional lexicons through a song is very effective to preserve the shifting or extinct language lexicon.

Abstract

The research objective was to know the effectiveness of the cooperative learning model with time token method on the English language proficiency of Washliyani Middle School students compared to previous teaching methods. This research was quantitative with experimental research design. In this research, the writer uses a quantitative data analysis technique. The quantitative data of this research was analyzed by using statistical method. According to the result of the research of the Wilcoxon test conducted by the researchers, it was found that the significance values for the control and treatment groups were 0.002 and 0.000, respectively. These values were lower than the α value of 0.05, indicating that both teaching methods employed in the control and treatment class had a significant impact on improving students' speaking ability. N-Gain Effectiveness Index indicated that the time token method demonstrated a 63.56% effectiveness rate in improving students' speaking ability. This categorization falls under the range considered "moderately effective" for enhancing students' speaking skills.

Abstract

The research aimed to develop and determine the effectiveness of the Fishbone method for improving student writing skills. This study incorporates development research as a research design. The process encompasses a research and development (R&D) cycle that includes processes such as research findings analysis, field testing, and revision. This method is used to remedy faults discovered during the field test stage. The study involved Grade Eleventh students at SMA AL WASHLIYAH 12 SEI RAMPAH, using the Ishikawa Diagram as a visual tool. The research used techniques such as study literacy, interview, observation, group discussion, and documentation. The results showed that the Fishbone method could improve student writing skills by 50%, accurately describe student needs, and be more effective than common methods. The mean percentage improvement in the experimental class was 61,39%, while in the control class it was only 30,66%.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat merupakan suatu kegiatan yang dilakukan oleh beberapa tim dari Universitas Muslim Nusantara Al-Washliyah yang bekerjasama dengan tim dari Institut Kesehatan Deli Husada Deli Tua. Bahasa Inggris yang disosialisasikan di Taman Kanak-Kanak Amir Hamzah merupakan salah satu cara untuk meningkatkan kemmapuan para guru dalam mengajarkan cara berbahsa yang benar khususnya bahasa Inggris karena bahasa tersebut merupakan bahasa internasional yang mendapat perhatian lebih bagi dunia pendidikan khususnya di Indoneisa. Pengajaran bahasa Inggris untuk anak usia dini telah berkembang karena meningkatnya kesadaran dimana bahasa Inggris penting untuk dikuasai. Adanya keterbatasan guru yang tidak terlatih serta keterbatasan pengetahuan tentang materi dan teknik pengajaran yang tepat membuat bahasa Inggris menjadi wajib disolialisasikan bagi para guru. Bahasa dan penddikan sangat erat hubungannya karena dengan bahasa dapat terlihat kemampuan yang dimiliki oleh anak. Anak mengungkapkan apa saja yang dipahami melalui bahasa lisan dan tulisan. Semakin pandai anak dalam berbahasa dan dapat mengungkapkan banyak hal di otaknya melalui kata lisan dan tulisan. Semakin pandai anak dalam berbahsas dan dapat mengungkapkan banyak hal di otaknya melalui kata lisan maka akan dinilai pintar.

Abstract

This research focuses to analyze the translation errors on Instagram machine translation latest version with the theory of Machali. As human, we must always not expect a lot of the Instagram machine translation to provide a good translation. The accuracy of Instagram translation more important to make good translation, The research explores the analysis result by using words. the researcher conlude that Instagram machine translation cannot produce an honest translation, and human as a translator still have crucial role in translating. Based on the data by recognizing the translation error in each datum, semantic aspects are reliable to the translation results. Second datum, the researcher founds none translation error in refrential meaning, for translations error in grammatical meaning and one in contextual meaning.Keywords: Instagram Machine Translation, Semantic Aspects, Translation Error

Abstract

Pengabdian masyarakat yang akan dilaksanakan ini bertempat Jalan Kemenangan, Indra Kasih, Kec. Medan Tembung, Kota Medan, Sumatera Utara. Mitra di dalam pengabdian ini adalah Guru-guru TK PAUD R.A Madrasah Hamdaniyah. Mereka berkompeten dalam bidang pengajaran bahasa Inggris untuk anak usia dini. Beberapa guru masih cenderung monoton dan minim penggunaan media serta belum mengetahui media pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris yang menarik dan interaktif serta mungkin kurang familiar dengan aplikasi dan teknologi digital, sehingga butuh waktu lebih lama untuk mempelajari cara menggunakannya secara efektif. Tingkat motivasi guru juga berbeda dalam belajar bahasa Inggris dan belum adanya pendampingan penyelesaian masalah dalam pengajaran bahasa Inggris. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru Madrasah Hamdaniyah dalam menguasai pengetahuan dasar bahasa Inggris, keterampilan menggunakan media pembelajaran berbasis teknologi berupa website wordwall dalam proses belajar mengajar bahasa Inggris dan mengajarkannya bahasa kepada anak usia dini. Tim pengabdian akan memberi solusi terhadap permasalahan yang ditemukan dengan cara memotivasi guru-guru TK PAUD R.A Madrasah Hamdaniyah untuk menggunakan media pembelajaran berbasis teknologi berupa website wordwall dalam proses belajar mengajar kemudian cara mengajarkannya kepada anak-anak TK PAUD R.A Madrasah Hamdaniyah. Tim pengabdian selanjutnya memberikan materi berupa penggunaan dasar website wordwall, penerapan website wordwall dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris, dan strategi mengajar bahasa Inggris dengan website wordwall kepada guru-guru TK PAUD R.A Madrasah Hamdaniyah. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian ini adalah metode ceramah, diskusi dan demonstrasi. Metode ceramah dan diskusi digunakan untuk memberikan penjelasan tentang dasar-dasar bahasa Inggris, pentingnya penggunaan teknologi dalam pembelajaran, serta cara memanfaatkan website Wordwall untuk mengajarkan bahasa Inggris kepada anak usia dini. Sedangkan metode demonstrasi digunakan untuk memperaktikkan penggunaan website wordwall dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris dan cara mengajarkannya kepada anak-anak TK PAUD R.A Madrasah Hamdaniyah.

Abstract

This research analyzes the language styles in the lyrics of Lukas Graham’s Pink album using Gorys Keraf’s theory, focusing on two classifications language styles based on sentence structure and meaning with the aim of identifying the types used and interpreting their meanings, employing a qualitative descriptive method, the researcher examined 11 song lyrics through domain analysis, revealing that repetition (especially epizeuxis and anaphora) is the most dominant structure-based style, while meaning based styles include symbolism, metaphor, personification, hyperbole, irony, paradox, antithesis, euphemism and rhetorical question, where denotative meaning appears more frequently than connotative meaning, ultimately showing that Lukas Graham’s use of language styles enhances emotional expression, clarity, and artistic quality in the lyrics.
