Abstract

This study aims to assess the impact of human resource quality, organizational commitment, and work motivation individually and collectively on employee performance at the Medan Moderate Tax Service Office. The research was conducted at the Medan Transitional Tax Service Office, located at Jalan Sukamulia No. 17A, Medan, with a population of 117 and a research sample of 54 individuals. Data collection involved interviews, surveys, and documentation. The IBM Statistics for Product and Service Solution (SPSS) version 24 was utilized for data analysis, employing multiple regression analysis. The findings of the study reveal that the quality of human resources significantly influences the performance of employees at the Medan Dua Intermediate Tax Service Office. This is supported by the results of the t-test analysis (3.894 > 2.009) at n = 54 with a 95% level of significance. Organizational commitment also impacts the performance of employees at the Medan Two Intermediate Tax Service Office, as indicated by t-test > t-table analysis (2.861 > 2.009) at n = 54 with a 95% level of significance. Similarly, work motivation affects the performance of employees at the Medan Two Moderate Tax Service Office, with t-test > t-table results (5.751 > 2.009) at n = 54 and a 95% level of significance. Furthermore, the F-test results (F-count > F-table) indicate that collectively, there is a positive and significant influence of human resource quality, organizational commitment, and work motivation on the performance of employees at the Medan Intermediate Tax Service Office (31.463 > 2.79).

Abstract

Independent students are inherently capable of self-management, not relying on emotional support from others, especially parents, able to make independent decisions, and possess a strong set of principles. Furthermore, the objectives of this research are as follows: 1) to determine the level of independence among local students at FKIP USK, 2) to determine the level of independence among non-local students at FKIP USK, 3) to identify the differences in independence between local and non- local students at FKIP USK. This research employs a quantitative approach with a comparative research design. The population of this study consists of active S1 FKIP USK students from the 2022 cohort, who come from outside the Aceh province and do not live with family members or relatives (for local students), as well as those who reside in and originate from Banda Aceh or live with their parents (for non-local students), totaling 425 students. The research sample comprises 133 FKIP USK students, with 60 local students and 73 non-local students, selected using a simple random sampling technique. Based on the research findings, it was known that the level of independence among local students predominantly falls into the high category (60%), while independence among non-local students predominantly falls into the moderate category (49%). The research results show an Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.026 ˂ 0.05, indicating that there was a difference in independence between local and non- local students at FKIP USK, as evidenced by the detailed mean rank values, with local students (75.18) having a higher mean rank than non-local students (60.27). Therefore, it can be concluded that the hypothesis in this research is accepted.

Abstract

One of the technologies favored by preschoolers today is gadgets. The negative impact of using gadgets is the children become more passive because children's focus shifts to gadgets so that it can affect children's independence in daily activities. The research objective was to determine the relationship between gadget use and independence in daily activities for preschooler in Gampong Riseh Tunong, Sawang District, Aceh Utara Regency. This research method used an analytical design with a cross sectional approach. The population used in this research was parents who had 50 children of preschool age in Gampong Riseh Tunong, Sawang District, Aceh Utara Regency. The samples were 50 people taken through total sampling technique and the instrument used a questionnaire and the data analysis used univariate and bivariate analysis. The results of this research showed that there was a relationship between the use of gadgets and independence in daily activities for preschooler in Gampong Riseh Tunong, Sawang District, Aceh Utara Regency, it was obtained P-value of 0.000 <α = 0.05. Based on the result above, it is expected the respondents can be wiser in supervising children, especially in providing restrictions and being selective in granting permission to use gadgets, distracting children by doing interesting things such as inviting children to play outside the house, inviting children to do more activities (sports, playing music) and socializing with their peers.

Abstract

Kemiskinan diukur dari tingginya jumlah penduduk miskin sebagai masalah utama negara Indonesia. Salah satu contoh daerah yang masih menghadapi masalah kemiskinan di Indonesia adalah Kota Medan. Tingkat pengangguran terbuka yang tinggi akan menyebabkan peningkatan kemiskinan di suatu daerah. Oleh karena itu, perlu dilakukan analisis pengaruh jumlah penduduk dan pengangguran terhadap peningkatan jumlah penduduk miskin di Kota Medan, sehingga dapat dilakukan perencanaan dalam menangani penduduk miskin di Kota Medan. Berdasarkan analisis dan pembahasan yang dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode regresi linier berganda, persentase pengaruh jumlah pengangguran dan jumlah penduduk terhadap jumlah penduduk miskin adalah sebesar 34,1%, dan variabel pengangguran sebagai variabel yang paling signifikan adalah 0,014 < 0,05. Didapatkan persamaan matematis dari pengaruh jumlah penduduk dan pengangguran terhadap jumlah penduduk miskin di kota Medan yaitu JPM = -0.590JPG + 0.16JP +. Kata kunci : Jumlah kemiskinan, jumlah penduduk, jumlah pengangguran, regresi linier berganda.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji integrasi teori makna referensial, struktural, dan kognitif dalam kerangka pragmatik pada komunikasi sehari-hari. Permasalahan yang diangkat adalah bagaimana ketiga teori tersebut saling melengkapi dalam menjelaskan pembentukan dan pemahaman makna ujaran dalam interaksi lisan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi literatur dengan analisis isi kualitatif, di mana data diperoleh dari jurnal ilmiah, buku, dan dokumen akademik yang relevan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa makna dalam komunikasi bahasa Arab tidak hanya bersifat referensial, tetapi juga sangat dipengaruhi oleh struktur bahasa, proses kognitif, serta konteks pragmatik. Ketiga aspek tersebut saling berinteraksi sehingga makna yang dipahami dalam percakapan sering kali melebihi arti literal kata-kata yang digunakan. Dengan demikian, pemahaman makna dalam komunikasi sehari-hari merupakan hasil integrasi antara makna referensial, struktural, dan kognitif yang berjalan dalam kerangka pragmatik, sehingga makna dapat dipahami secara utuh dan kontekstual. Abstract

This study explores the integration of applied semantics and pragmatics in Arabic language learning within the framework of ilmu lughah tathbiqi (applied Arabic linguistics). Using a qualitative-descriptive method based on library research, this study analyzes how lexical, grammatical, and contextual meanings—when combined with pragmatic approaches—enhance learners’ communicative competence. The findings show that effective Arabic teaching should not only focus on grammar and vocabulary but also emphasize contextual and pragmatic aspects that reflect real communication. Applied semantics provides a theoretical foundation for understanding how meanings are constructed and interpreted, while pragmatics develops the ability to use language appropriately within social and cultural contexts. Integrating these aspects supports the formation of comprehensive linguistic, sociolinguistic, and pragmatic competence essential for authentic Arabic communication.

Abstract

The 20th century was a crucial period in Southeast Asian history, marked by political transformation, colonialism, and the formation of nation-states that significantly impacted the position of Muslims as a minority group in Singapore, the Philippines, and Thailand. This study aims to comparatively analyze the historical, social, political, and educational dynamics of Muslim minorities in these three countries from the perspective of historical education studies. This study uses a qualitative method with a historical-comparative approach, utilizing secondary data in the form of history books, scientific journals, colonial archives, and relevant state policy documents. The research findings show that Islam in all three regions initially developed peacefully through trade, da'wah, and social relations, but experienced a shift in position due to colonialism and modern state policies. Singapore represents a model of state accommodation towards Muslim minorities through multicultural policies and the strengthening of religious institutions, the Philippines demonstrates historical marginalization that has triggered a prolonged conflict with the Moro community, while Thailand demonstrates identity pressure through national assimilation policies. The findings of this research confirm that the historical experiences of Muslim minorities are contextual and heavily influenced by state ideology and power relations. The implications of this research for history education are the importance of presenting minority narratives in an inclusive and comparative manner to foster multicultural awareness, tolerance, and critical thinking skills in students regarding the relationship between religion, state, and identity in Southeast Asia.
