Abstract

The internet has become a fundamental necessity in various activities today. Stream Cyber Cafe, as an internet service provider, faces the challenge of maintaining network quality so that users can comfortably engage in activities such as gaming, streaming services, and social media. Load balancing, utilizing multiple internet sources from various ISPs, becomes a solution to enhance network efficiency and responsiveness. This research focuses on implementing the Dijkstra algorithm on MikroTik devices to determine the shortest path based on DNS server latency from various internet service providers (ISP). The main steps include configuring MikroTik devices, analyzing latency connections to DNS servers, and employing the Dijkstra algorithm. The Dijkstra algorithm, utilizing a Greedy approach, considers the minimum weight from the starting node to other nodes. Testing using the "PING" command provides information on the number of hops or steps required to reach each DNS server. Dijkstra adapts the shortest path based on latency, yielding optimal load balancing efficiency. Configuring MikroTik features, such as Firewall Mangle, Routing Table, and Routing Gateway, supports the functionality of the Dijkstra algorithm. Test results show that each ISP has a different shortest path to DNS servers, and the Dijkstra algorithm can determine the shortest path by considering time or latency factors. Although the author acknowledges some technical challenges during implementation, the proposed solution successfully overcomes these challenges. Thus, the use of the Dijkstra algorithm on MikroTik proves its effectiveness in enhancing the performance and reliability of the network in the Stream Cyber Cafe environment.

Abstract

The development of human resources that are adaptive to the challenges of the 21st century demands a significant transformation in the education sector. This community service article aims to describe, implement, and analyze the effectiveness of an interactive digital learning model (IDLM) based on a Learning Management System (LMS) and mobile devices for core subjects (e.g., Science or Mathematics) at the Junior High School (JHS) level. This study is motivated by the finding that conventional learning is often less effective in fostering independent learning motivation and critical thinking skills among young adolescents. The service method uses an Action Research approach divided into three main cycles: planning, action, and reflection, involving 80 students and 10 teachers as partners. The IDLM implementation includes the development of digital content, interactive learning videos, and gamified assessments. The results of the service show a significant increase in the material retention index and the average score in post-intervention formative tests. Furthermore, in-depth interviews and participatory observation confirm a positive shift in students' attitudes, from passive to more proactive and collaborative in the learning process. The conclusion affirms that the structured and integrated adoption of technology acts as a catalyst for improving the quality of education, in line with the demands of the Industry 4.0 revolution.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of digital learning media on students’ learning interest in the Audio Video Department at SMK Negeri 4 Medan. The integration of digital media in vocational education has become increasingly essential, especially for subjects that require strong visual representation and practical demonstrations. Digital media such as instructional videos, animations, interactive simulations, and multimedia platforms are expected to enhance students’ engagement and comprehension of technical concepts. However, students’ learning interest does not always respond uniformly to the use of digital media, indicating the need for empirical investigation in this context. This research employed a quantitative correlational design with a sample of 30 students selected through cluster sampling. A Likert-scale questionnaire consisting of 12 validated and reliable items was administered to measure both the use of digital learning media and students’ learning interest. Data analysis included descriptive statistics, item validity testing, reliability testing using Cronbach Alpha, and Pearson correlation analysis. The findings revealed that the use of digital learning media among students was categorized as high (mean = 3.97), and students’ learning interest also fell into the high category (mean = 3.90). The reliability coefficient of 0.706 indicated acceptable internal consistency of the instrument. Furthermore, the Pearson correlation test produced a coefficient of r = 0.64 with p < 0.05, demonstrating a positive and significant relationship between the two variables. These results suggest that the effective integration of digital learning media contributes substantially to enhancing students’ learning interest, particularly in vocational fields that heavily rely on visual and practical learning processes. The study underscores the importance of optimizing digital media usage to improve the quality of teaching and learning in vocational education.

Abstract

This paper presents the design and implementation of a cryptographic scheme that combines the Hill Cipher algorithm with the Three-Pass Protocol (TPP) using mod-256 arithmetic. The objective is to provide a secure communication mechanism without direct key exchange while adapting a classical cipher to modern digital contexts. The system employs a 2×2 key matrix where plaintext characters are mapped to their ASCII values, grouped into vectors, and transformed through matrix multiplication followed by modulo reduction. The TPP structure allows both sender and receiver to apply their private keys independently, producing layered ciphertexts before the final recovery of the plaintext. A prototype application was developed using Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 (Visual Basic) to validate the approach. The program includes input fields for plaintext, ciphertext at each stage, key matrices, and a log box that records the detailed matrix operations for transparency. Experimental results demonstrate that the original plaintext can be accurately restored after multiple encryption and decryption phases, while the intermediate ciphertexts remain random and unintelligible. The findings confirm that integrating Hill Cipher with the Three-Pass Protocol strengthens confidentiality and eliminates the need for key distribution. Beyond its security benefits, the prototype also serves as an educational tool, helping students and practitioners understand both matrix-based encryption and keyless secure communication protocols.

Abstract

Early detection of Ganoderma boninense infection is essential to reduce yield losses in oil palm plantations. This study aims to evaluate the performance of three recent YOLO architectures, namely YOLOv9, YOLOv10, and YOLOv11, for real-time detection of early infection symptoms under natural field conditions. A dataset of 2,000 annotated RGB images was used with a 70:20:10 split for training, validation, and testing. Model performance was evaluated using precision, recall, F1-score, mean average precision (mAP50 and mAP50–95), and inference speed. The results show that YOLOv9 achieved the highest detection accuracy with an mAP50 of 0.989 and F1-score of 0.968. Meanwhile, YOLOv11 demonstrated the best computational efficiency with an inference speed of 35 FPS and processing time of 28.5 ms per frame. These findings indicate a trade-off between accuracy and speed, where YOLOv9 is suitable for accuracy-oriented applications, while YOLOv11 is more appropriate for real-time deployment in precision agriculture.

Abstract

The health of oil palm plants can be visually assessed through changes in leaf color, which reflect the plant's physiological condition. Leaf color serves as a critical, non-destructive indicator for evaluating plant health. This study aims to develop an innovative method for detecting oil palm leaf health using MATLAB-based digital image processing techniques. The process begins with leaf image acquisition, followed by pre-processing to enhance image quality, and then color space conversion from RGB to HSV. The analysis focuses on the Hue and Saturation components, which represent the leaf's color tone and intensity. Two sample images—healthy and unhealthy leaves—are compared. The results demonstrate that healthy leaves exhibit higher average Hue and Saturation values compared to unhealthy ones, providing a key parameter for automated leaf condition classification. This study introduces a cost-effective system adaptable for small-scale farmers' plantations, offering an effective, efficient, and economical solution. This approach shows significant potential for implementation in automated plant health monitoring systems and further development for precision agriculture, particularly in oil palm plantations, to enhance productivity and sustainability in modern agriculture.
