Abstract

This study aims to describe the forms of morphological affixation errors in students' narrative essays, especially prefixes, suffixes, infixes, and confixes. The subjects of this study were students of class XI SMA Muhammadiyah Lamahala. The data collected amounted to twenty narrative essays. The method used in this research is qualitative method . After the data is collected from the results of the analysis in written form. The analysis technique used is note-taking technique and reading technique. In composing narrative essays students are asked to write narrative essays in the form of personal experiences related to life stories both about family, friends, environmental conditions and others. The results of this study showed that of the twenty narrative essays analyzed, all students' narrative essays were obtained, namely the use of prefixes with 26 errors, 11 errors in the use of suffixes, and 3 errors in the use of confixes. Meanwhile, the use of infixes did not find errors.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the conversational code switching of SMA Negeri 1 Adonara Barat, East Flores district. The theory used is sociolinguistic theory. The method used is a qualitative method. The research data is in the form of student conversations. The data source is Adonana Barat 1 Public High School students who are having a conversation. The results of this study indicate (1) the form of language code switching in the conversations of students of SMA Negeri 1 Adonara Barat is internal code switching and external code switching, (2) the causes of language code switching in the conversations of students of SMA Negeri 1 Adonara Barat are, code switching is not directly to the interlocutor, the influence of the speaking situation, the influence of the presence of a third person, and the influence of language practice.

Abstract

This article aims to describe the types of syntactic errors in the descriptivetext of class VII SMPK St. Isidorus Lewotala. The problem discussed is what are the types of syntactic errors in the description text of class VII students of SMPK St. Isidorus Lewotala. Language errors are basically caused by the person who uses the language in question, not the language he uses. The theory used is the theory of language errors put forward by Setyawati with three possible causes of language errors, namely being influenced by the language that was previously mastered, the language user's lack of understanding of the language he uses, and language teaching that is inappropriate or imperfect. The method used is a qualitative descriptive method and the approach used is a qualitative approach. The source of the data in this study were class VII students of SMPK St. Isidorus Lewotala. The data collected is in the form of phrases, sentences which are included in the types of syntax errors in the descriptive text. Data collection techniques were carried out using observation and documentation techniques. Data analysis was carried out by identifying errors, classifying errors, presenting data and drawing conclusions. This research was conducted at SMPK St. Isidorus Lewotala, Lewotala village, Lewolema sub-district, East Flores district. The results of this study indicate that there are four types of syntactic errors in the field of phrases consisting of: 1) inappropriate use of prepositions, 2) inappropriate wording, 3) excessive use of elements, and 4) double pluralization. There are five types of syntactic errors in the field of sentences, including: 1) sentences without a subject, 2) stump sentences, 3) excessive use of conjunctions, 4) use of foreign terms, and 5) use of unnecessary question words.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the meaning of the koke bale ceremony in Lewomuda Village, Demon Pagong District. Koke bale is a series of traditional ceremonies that are carried out before the community prepares the land to start the planting process. The theory used in Koke Bale's research is semantic theory. This study also uses qualitative methods supported by data collection techniques, namely interviews, observation and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the koke bale ceremony is a traditional ceremony held in Lewomuda Village, Demon Pagong District. There are eleven important parts in the process of carrying out the koke bale ceremony, namely: kote mada, take koke, tane tenane, take tada, mara, towe lodge, ura mau, butung kewura, goleng, eat together, and hode ilu. In the koke bale ceremony, there are five meanings namely, (1) religious meaning, (2) brotherhood meaning, (3) respect meaning, (4) success meaning, and (5) self-protection meaning.

Abstract

strengthening the character of the Lewokluok indigenous community in East Flores. Sociosemiotic theory as a scalpel for the meaning and social function of carved motifs on beledan koke bale. The research uses a qualitative descriptive method to examine the symbolic meaning of beledan in the lives of the Lewokluok indigenous community. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and FGD with traditional leaders. The data was analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which includes the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The study results show that there are 18 beledan on the koke bale, representing the identities of 16 indigenous tribes. Each beledan has carved motifs that contain symbolic meanings related to leadership and courage, struggle, fertility and love, religiosity, family ties, love, service, solidarity, as well as health and survival. Meanwhile, the social cohesion that is conveyed through the beledan koke bale plays a role in strengthening the character of the Lewokluok indigenous community in three main ways: (1) to be a symbol of collective identity that fosters a sense of togetherness, love for others, and respect for ancestral heritage; (2) strengthening social solidarity so as to form a character of mutual trust between ethnic groups, a tolerant attitude towards diversity; and (3) deepening spirituality that fosters a humble character, gratitude, inner peace, and empathy in community life.
