Abstract

Background: Labor pain can cause stress that leads to excessive release of hormones such as catecholamines and steroids, these hormones can cause smooth muscle tension and vasoconstriction of the uterus, decrease the circulation of the uteroplacenta, blood flow and oxygen to the uterus, and cause uterine ischemia which makes the impulse increase. The non-pharmacological method used to reduce pain and accelerate head lowering is pelvic rocking gymnastics using a gym ball where sitting straight on the ball, the earth's gravitational force will help the bottom of the fetus descend to the pelvis so that labor becomes shorter. The importance of the application of gymnastics is so that it is necessary to provide information and health education about pelvic rocking gymnastics that can train pregnant women. Objective: to improve the knowledge and ability of pelvic rocking gymnastics. Method: the target of the activity is pregnant women in the third trimester in Bajoe Village. This activity was carried out for 1 month with two meetings where at the first meeting education and simulation of pelvic rocking gymnastics were given, then at the second meeting, two weeks after the first meeting, an evaluation of the understanding of the participants was carried out. Conclusion: the results of this activity can increase the mother's knowledge and ability to do pelvic rocking gymnastics.

Abstract

Anxiety in women increases with the start of labor and has a negative impact on mothers and newborns. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of listening to murottal Al-Quran on increasing oxygen saturation and reducing pain in mothers in the active phase of labor. This research was quantitative research with a quasi-experimental design and a preexperimental design one-group pretest-posttest. This study was conducted at the Kendari City Hospital. The sample was determined as a total population, considering that the number of mothers during the first active phase was only 30. The data analysis technique in this study went through two calculation stages: the data normality test by Kolmogorov-Smirnov, Paired Sample Statistics, and all calculations using SPSS. The results of the statistical tests using the Wilcoxon test yielded a p-value of 0.000. Statistically, it can be concluded that there are differences in oxygen saturation values before and after the administration of murottal intervention. It was also found that 27 respondents experienced an increase in oxygen saturation after receiving murottal intervention. In conclusion, murottal intervention increased oxygen saturation.

Abstract

The causes of stunting start from adolescent girls as mothers-to-be suffer from anemia, lack of nutritional intake when they are still teenagers until before marriage and pregnancy. S This affects the nutritional quality of the child he will conceive. Therefore, understanding health starting from adolescence is very important so that when planning a family, adolescents have maintained health and understand the good and bad impacts related to health. Teenagers today generally prefer something that is varied and not boring, the educational process must be designed with this in mind. The use of the right media can be one solution to increase adolescents' interest in obtaining health information. One of the media that can be used is e-comics where Indonesia is ranked second in the world for the number of comic readers with an average score of someone reading 3 comic books. Methods: quasi-experimental research with two group pre and post test design. The research sample was 40 students (20 people per group) of SMP 5 Kendari grade IX with an accidental sampling technique. The analysis used the wilcoxon test and the Mann Whitney test. Results: the results of the knowledge wilcoxon test in the experimental group showed p-value = 0.000 which means there was a significant difference in knowledge before and after the intervention. The Mann Whitney test between the two groups showed a p-value = 0.000 which means that there is an influence of education through e-comics on reproductive health knowledge in stunting prevention. Suggestion: It is hoped that the provision of health education to adolescents can utilize e-comic media so that it attracts interest in reading.

Abstract

Mothers with prolonged labor have a higher risk of bleeding. This study aimed to determine the effect of the counterpressure technique with a birthball on the length of the first stage of perineal rupture. This type of research is quantitative with a quasi-experimental design using an observation form conducted  in Kendari City Hospital from May to August 2023. The design used was a two-group-only post-test, with a control group. The study population comprised multiparous mothers in the first active stage. The sample size consisting of 20 who were given the counterpressure technique with birthball, 20 who were only given the counterpressure technique, and 20 who received no treatment. The inclusion criteria were mothers who were willing to become respondents and mothers who gave birth with normal births. The samples were collected using purposive sampling. The t-test was used to determine the differences between the three groups. The results of the difference test in the length of active phase I between the group given the counterpressure technique with birthball (intervention I) and the control group were p-value (0.000). The results of the analysis for the group given the counterpressure technique (Intervention II) with the control group were p-value (0.000). The results of the analysis for the group given the counterpressure technique with birthball (Intervention I) with the counterpressure technique (Intervention II) were p-value (0.759). In Conclusions, Providing counterpressure techniques with a birthball or simply providing counterpressure techniques is effective in reducing the incidence of perineal ruptures.

Abstract

An Android-based pregnancy care application designed and adapted to the needs of pregnant women is part of efforts to encourage sustainable midwifery care, which is expected to make it easier to convey, understand, and apply because it is in accordance with current client needs. This research aims to develop android-based educational media for midwifery care. The development of Android-based Midwifery Care Education Media was carried out using a research and development approach consisting of a preliminary study stage consisting of a literature study and field study (two respondents), and product development consisting of product design and media expert validation testing. (one respondent), material experts (one respondent), and application trials by community health center midwives in the work area of the Konawe District Health Service (35 respondents) who were selected using purposive sampling. Research data were collected using questionnaires, and quantitative and qualitative analyses were conducted. The validation results from media experts obtained a score of 69.47% in the feasible category and 98.33% from material experts in the very appropriate category, and the test results from 35 respondents obtained a score of 92.86%, including the very appropriate category. The Android-based educational media application developed for midwifery care is very suitable for use and needs to be tested for its effectiveness in midwifery care during pregnancy. The "Mama KIA" application is very feasible in terms of materials, media, and testing and meets the requirements for midwifery care by midwives.
