Abstract

Abstract Background: Responding to the problem of double-career student-athletes during quarantine that resulted in an emotional regulation and psychological well-being crisis. Objective: To determine the effect of role awareness training on psychological well-being and emotional regulation in student-athletes. Method: Using quantitative experimental methods with a pre-test-posttest control group design. The subjects of this study were 24 athletes from the National Young Athlete Training Center UNESA. Sampling is done with a saturated sample, where all members of the population become samples. Data was obtained through pretests and posttests using psychological well-being tools containing 42 items. The data analysis technique used is an independent sample t test. Result: p value for emotional regulation is 0.027 and for psychological well-being is 0.047 (both p values are < 0.05). It shows training awareness of the role capable of guiding student-athletes in improving psychological well-being and emotional regulation. Conclusion: There is an influence of role awareness training on the emotional regulation and psychological well-being of student-athletes.   Abstrak Latar Belakang: Menanggapi permasalahan atlet pelajar yang berkarir ganda pada masa karantina yang mengakibatkan krisis regulasi emosi dan kesejahteraan psikologis. Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui pengaruh awareness training terhadap kesejahteraan psikologis dan regulasi emosi pada atlet pelajar. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen kuantitatif dengan desain pretest dan posttest control group design. Subjek yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah para atlet Sentra Latihan Olahragawan Muda Potensial Nasional UNESA yang berjumlah 24 orang. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan menggunakan jenis sampel jenuh, dimana seluruh anggota populasi menjadi sampel. Data diperoleh melalui pretest dan posttest dengan menggunakan alat bantu kesejahteraan psikologis yang berjumlah 42 item. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji t sampel independen. Hasil: Nilai p untuk regulasi emosi sebesar 0,027 dan untuk kesejahteraan psikologis sebesar 0,047 (kedua nilai p < 0,05). Hal ini menunjukkan pelatihan kesadaran akan peran yang mampu membimbing pelajar-atlet dalam meningkatkan kesejahteraan psikologis dan regulasi emosional. Kesimpulan: Terdapat pengaruh awareness training terhadap regulasi emosi dan kesejahteraan psikologis atlet pelajar.

Abstract

Background: In the academic process, students have the potential to experience academic stress, among others, due to high expectations, a lot of incoming information, academic pressure, and unrealistic ambitions. One of the activities carried out is sports activities. Objective: The objective of the study was to assess the relationship between sport activity and academic stress. Method: A total of 65 student were involved in this study. Age range of 14–17 years, Data obtained from Global Physical Activity Questionnaire (GPAQ) and reported the number of days and duration of activities they spent on studying or working, travelling, and recreational activities. All responses as to the duration were converted from hours into METs. Data academic stress obtained from Perception of Academic Stress Scale. Statistical analysis using analysis of varian was performed using JASP for window version 0.14.1 Result: The research results show an F value of 3.304 with a p value of 0.043 (<0.05). Conclusion: There is a significant difference between the level of sports activity and academic stress. The higher the level of sports activity, the lower the academic stress. Latar Belakang: Peserta didik dalam dalam proses akademik ada potensi mengalami stres akademik antara lain karena ekspektasi yang tinggi, banyaknya informasi yang masuk, tekanan akademis, ambisi yang tidak realistis. Salah satu kegiatan yang dilakukan adalah aktivitas olahraga. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menilai hubungan antara aktivitas olahraga dan stres akademik siswa Sekolah Menengah Atas. Metode: Sebanyak 65 siswa dilibatkan dalam penelitian ini. Rentang usia 14–17 tahun. Data diperoleh dari Global Physical Activity Questionnaire (GPAQ) dan melaporkan jumlah hari dan durasi aktivitas yang mereka habiskan untuk belajar atau bekerja, bepergian, dan aktivitas rekreasi. Semua tanggapan mengenai durasi diubah dari jam menjadi MET. Data stres akademik diperoleh dari Skala Persepsi Stres Akademik. Analisis statistik menggunakan analisis varian dilakukan dengan menggunakan JASP for window versi 0.14.1. Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai F sebesar 3,304 dengan nilai p 0,043 (<0,05). Kesimpulan: Terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara tingkat aktivitas olahraga dengan stres akademik. Semakin tinggi tingkat aktivitas olahraga maka semakin rendah stres akademik. Kata kunci: Stress akademik, aktivitas olahraga, peserta didik.

Abstract

Background: The mental health of pre-service teachers is essential as they manage the demands of early teaching and build professional skills. Many face challenges in psychological well-being and emotional regulation, impacting their classroom effectiveness and resilience. Objective: This study examines psychological well-being and emotional regulation among Indonesian pre-service teachers and the influence of demographic factors. Method: A quantitative correlational design was used, with data gathered from 583 pre-service teachers in Indonesian. Psychological well-being and emotional regulation were measured using validated scales, and ANOVA was employed to assess differences across demographic factors. Results: Results show that many pre-service teachers have low to medium levels of psychological well-being, with significant variation in emotional regulation abilities. Demographic factors—gender, age, employment status, and teaching placement—did not significantly affect these aspects. Conclusion: The findings indicate that PWB and ER are not significantly affected by demographic factors like age, gender, employment status, or teaching placement. This suggests that challenges in these areas are widely experienced across different demographic groups, emphasizing the universal.

Abstract

Background: This research explores how modeling as a learning strategy can support preschool children in recognizing patterns, and whether their cooperative skills influence this effect. Objective: This study aimed to examine the effect of modeling as a learning strategy on pattern recognition skills in preschoolers and to determine whether cooperative ability acts as a moderator. Method: Using a quasi-experimental design with pretest and posttest, the study involved 31 preschool children aged 4–5 years, 17 boys and 14 girls from a private kindergarten in East Java. The participants were divided equally into an experimental group and a control group. Measurements were conducted using validated pattern recognition skills and cooperative ability, and the data were analyzed using independent t-tests and ANOVA. Results: revealed that preschool children in the experimental group showed a significantly higher improvement in pattern recognition (p < 0.001). Conclusion: Furthermore, cooperation was found to strengthen the relationship between modeling and pattern recognition. These findings highlight the importance of combining cognitive learning strategies with social skill development in early preschool education. Abstrak Latar Belakang: Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi bagaimana pemodelan sebagai strategi pembelajaran dapat mendukung anak-anak prasekolah dalam mengenali pola, dan apakah keterampilan kooperatif mereka memengaruhi efek ini. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh pemodelan sebagai strategi pembelajaran terhadap keterampilan pengenalan pola pada anak-anak prasekolah dan untuk menentukan apakah kemampuan kooperatif bertindak sebagai moderator. Metode: Menggunakan desain kuasi-eksperimental dengan pretes dan posttes, penelitian ini melibatkan 31 anak prasekolah berusia 4–5 tahun, 17 laki-laki dan 14 perempuan dari taman kanak-kanak swasta di Jawa Timur. Peserta dibagi secara merata menjadi kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol. Pengukuran dilakukan dengan menggunakan keterampilan pengenalan pola dan kemampuan kooperatif yang tervalidasi, dan data dianalisis menggunakan uji-t independen dan ANOVA. Hasil: mengungkapkan bahwa anak-anak prasekolah dalam kelompok eksperimen menunjukkan peningkatan yang signifikan lebih tinggi dalam pengenalan pola (p < 0,001). Kesimpulan: Lebih jauh, kerja sama ditemukan untuk memperkuat hubungan antara pemodelan dan pengenalan pola. Temuan ini menyoroti pentingnya menggabungkan strategi pembelajaran kognitif dengan pengembangan keterampilan sosial dalam pendidikan prasekolah awal.
