Abstract

The background of this research is that tafsir has patterns and characteristics whose development can be influenced by the text, context, and interpretation of the interpreter from time to time. Malja’ at-Thalibin, a Sundanese tafsir by Ahmad Sanusi, is interesting to study because it was born in the socio-religious context of the Priangan region. The purpose of this research is to explore Ahmad Sanusi’s response to interpreting the Qur’an as resistance to the reformist lawsuit in which this group moves on the factor of wanting a return to the Qur’an and Sunnah, which is used as a starting point in assessing the truth in religion and community culture. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method sourced from literature studies with a content analysis approach. The depth of knowledge and insight possessed by the author shows its own satisfaction in dealing with community problems through the interpretation of the Qur'an, in addition to the combination of culture, society, and language that is able to give birth to a high-value work of interpretation and influence its readers. In addition, this tafsir also illustrates the attitude of the ulama in the context of resistance to the reformists.

Abstract

In navigating life cannot be separated from a problem, the problems of Muslims are also different, both problems regarding themselves or problems from social aspects. Wasilah is a term used by Muslims as an intermediary to pray to Allah so that their prayers will be answered and their needs can be resolved. The majority of Muslims in understanding wasilah tend to give meaning as a means of intermediary, namely making certain things to be intermediaries to Allah.Wasilah is not something that must be done nor is it a cause for prayer to be answered, but the most important and essential thing is to pray absolutely to Allah. The term wasilah is also explained in Q.S al-Maidah verse 35 and Q.S al-Isra’ verse 57. This research uses descriptive qualitative method with maqashidi interpretation approach. Checking the validity is done by looking directly at the text of the book or the original book which discusses the interpretation of Q.S al-Maidah verse 35 and al-Isra' verse 57. The results of the study found: aspects of maqasid hifzu din and hifzu nafs as well as human values and values of responsibility

Abstract

This study aims to describe various reading literacy strengthening activities implemented by Madrasah Ibtidaiyah to foster creative writing skills.  Using a qualitative research method with a case study approach at MIN 1 Banyumas, data was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis involved reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that teachers strengthen literacy through: 1) mandatory library visits, 2) literacy corners in each classroom, 3) updated wall magazine content, and 4) a daily 15-minute reading program. Writing literacy activities include three stages: 1) pre-writing, 2) writing, and 3) post-writing.  In Islamic education, reading and writing are activities with spiritual and intellectual significance, aligning with Islamic values that emphasize knowledge acquisition and dissemination.  The study contributes theoretically by expanding the understanding of literacy practices in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the implementation of multicultural-based Islamic Religious Education at Al-Syifa Al-Khoiriyyah Islamic Boarding School in Subang. The background of this study is based on the urgency of strengthening the values of tolerance, diversity, and inclusivity in the Islamic education system amidst global social challenges. Using a qualitative approach with a case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that this Islamic boarding school strategically instills multicultural values through an integrated knowing (cognitive), feeling (affective), and action (practical) approach in the curriculum, learning activities, and daily lives of students. This educational model encourages the creation of a dialogic, tolerant learning community that is able to respond constructively to complex social dynamics. Theoretically, these findings contribute to the development of a more contextual and adaptive Islamic education framework to the reality of a multicultural society. While practically, this study offers a model of integration of multicultural values that can be used as a reference in developing curriculum and learning strategies in other Islamic educational institutions. However, this study has limitations in the scope of the location and the approach used, so the results cannot be generalized widely. Therefore, further studies with a mixed methods approach and a more diverse range of Islamic boarding schools are highly recommended. Multicultural-based Islamic education needs to continue to be developed as a contribution to humanist, inclusive, and equitable education on a local and global scale.
