Abstract

Virtual tours are developed as alternatives to traditional tourism in Indonesia. This quantitative study analyzed factors that influence actual virtual tour usage. A survey was conducted with 1,125 respondents who were aware of virtual tour services. The data were processed using covariance-based structural equation modeling. The results indicate that perceived benefits and sacrifices influenced behavioral intention to use these services. However, accessibility did not affect this intention. Behavioral intention to use significantly affected actual virtual tour usage. This research can help virtual tour providers and regulators increase service utilization and implementation.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze factors influencing the intention to use mobile health applications for personal health tracking (PHT). The respondents were 516 individuals who had used a PHT application, such as Samsung Health, iOS Health, or MiFit. Data processing was done via using partial least squares–structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). This study uncovered factors that can affect intention to use PHT applications, including perceived usefulness, social influence, facilitating conditions, hedonic motivation, habits, performance risk, and self-health awareness. It was found that perceived ease of use and self-reported health condition do not affect the intention to use PHT applications. This study can provide guidance on PHT application service providers for ensuring data accuracy, increasing user satisfaction when using the applications, and preventing privacy violation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of each type of information and search intention on the use of branded or generic search queries on search engines. This is done because of the emergence of the phenomenon of information overload or explosion of information. The types of tourism information studied are transportation, accommodation, restaurants, shopping places, and tourist attractions with two types of intention, namely purchase intention and intention to search. This study used a quantitative approach by distributing online questionnaires to users who had searched using a search engine and managed to collect 1,256 respondents. Data were analyzed using binary logistic regression. We found that intention influences the use of branded or generic search queries and several types of information influence the use of search queries. Transportation and shopping information could influence users in choosing to use generic or branded search queries.

Abstract

The rapid development of Subscription Video on Demand (SVoD) services in Indonesia makes it promising. The change in consumers’ behavior from watching movies through television channels and cinemas to online streaming has encouraged industry players to look for innovation. The research aims to analyze factors influencing the intention to continue using SVoD with Netflix as the case study. The research combines two theories, namely Information System Success (ISS) Model and Expectation Confirmation Theory (ECT). The research also adds an aspect of personalization which is one of the characteristics of SVoD services. There are 623 respondents who have used Netflix’s SVoD service at least once (purposive sampling) to participate in the research. The data are analyzed using the covariancebased structural equation model and facilitated using AMOS 26 program. The results indicate that service quality has a positive effect on confirmation. Then, system quality has a positive effect on perceived usefulness, and confirmation has a positive effect on satisfaction. Moreover, satisfaction, perceived usefulness, and personalization positively affect continuance intention to use SVoD services. Based on these results, the research is expected to contribute to SVoD service providers to evaluate their services so that users have the intention to continue using the SVoD services.

Abstract

To date, chatbots have been widely used in e-commerce as a replacement for conventional customer service agents. This study aims to analyze the influence of chatbots’ conversation skills on purchasing decisions made by e-commerce users. The specific skills examined were tailored response and response variety. This study used quantitative methods with online questionnaires and involved 699 respondents who had shopped on an ecommerce website and used a chatbot feature in the application. The e-commerce platforms involved in this study were the top five used in Indonesia: Shopee, Tokopedia, BliBli, Lazada, and Bukalapak. The data collected were analyzed using the partial least squares structural equation modeling method. The results show that the conversational skills of chatbots can influence consumer shopping decisions which can increase the sales of ecommerce organizations. The results provide guidance for e-commerce platforms using chatbots to help consumers with shopping. Keywords—Conversational Skills; Chatbot; E-Commerce; Indonesia; Purchase Behavior

Abstract

Background: The adoption of digital solutions in public transportation has transformed mobility services worldwide. However, resistance to innovation remains a significant challenge, preventing the successful implementation of transport applications. Despite advancements in mobile technology and smart transit solutions, many users remain hesitant to adopt new applications due to various barriers, including information quality concerns.  Objective: This study aims to investigate the relationship between information quality and innovation resistance in the adoption of public transport applications. Utilizing the Innovation Resistance Theory (IRT), this research examines how different resistance factors impact the intention to use transport apps.  Methods: A mixed-methods approach was applied, consisting of a quantitative survey with 443 respondents from an urbanized region and analyzed using Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). Additionally, qualitative insights were gathered through interviews with 30 individuals, analyzed using content analysis.  Results: Findings indicate that information quality significantly reduces innovation resistance, facilitating the adoption of transport applications. Moreover, usage barriers, value barriers, and tradition barriers negatively affect users’ intention to use transportation apps, while risk, image, and complexity barriers show no significant influence.  Conclusion: This study underscores the critical role of information quality in overcoming resistance to innovation in public transportation applications. The findings provide insights for app developers to enhance data accuracy and usability, as well as for policymakers to improve digital transportation services by addressing key resistance factors.  Keywords: Public Transport App, Innovation Resistance, M-Commerce, Intention to Use, Innovation Resistance Theory, Information Quality, PLS-SEM

Abstract

The high maternal mortality rate in Indonesia has led the Indonesian government to develop a mobile application for maternal and child health (MCH). However, this application received a bad rating on the applications distribution platform, and even some of its features could not function properly. Therefore, this study aims to design the MCH application. This study used the user-centered design (UCD) methodology with three iterations and applied Shneiderman's eight golden rules. Participants involved in the data collection and evaluation process were health workers, health experts, and pregnant women. The first iteration's evaluation will produce a low-fidelity prototype (wireframe), whereas the second and third iteration's evaluations will produce a refined high-fidelity clickable prototype. The resulting prototype has several major features, including notes entry, information and education, reminders, a blood supplement tablet tracker, and monitoring of fetal development. Evaluation in the first iteration utilized interviews to validate the wireframe, whereas the second and third iterations utilized usability testing and system usability scale (SUS). In the second iteration, the final SUS score was 71.2, or "good," while in the third iteration, the final SUS score was 85.4, or "excellent." This research is expected to contribute to two areas: serving as a reference for pregnancy application interface designs, especially for MCH applications, as well as the improvement and development of pregnancy health applications using the UCD methodology.

Abstract

To date, social media platforms offer many exclusive or special features for making payments on these premium platforms. This study aims to identify the push, pull, and mooring factors that influence users’ intention to switch from freemium to premium social media in Indonesia, drawing on the push-pull-mooring (PPM) theory. An online questionnaire involving 507 social media users in Indonesia and in-depth interviews with 30 users were conducted, with the qualitative data analyzed using content analysis to enrich the quantitative findings. The results show that functionality, advertising intrusiveness, relative advantage, price value, switching cost, and social influence influence switching intention. Theoretically, this study contributes to the PPM framework and the concept of switching intention by extending them to the context of user transitions from freemium to premium social media platforms in Indonesia, a context that has not been previously explored. Practically, the findings provide guidelines for social media platforms to improve premium features and enhance service offerings.
