Abstract

This study aims to determine the impact of debt levels on the profitability of banking companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The research focuses on two variables: the Debt-to-Equity Ratio (DER) and Return on Assets (ROA). Quantitative research with simple linear regression analysis is a type of study aimed at understanding the relationship between two variables. The population of this study includes 47 banking companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), from which a sample of 4 banking companies was selected using purposive sampling. This qualitative research employs simple linear analysis using SPSS 25.0 as the analytical tool. The results, based on significant values and partial values, indicate that an increase in debt levels among banking companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange leads to a decrease in profitability. This is because the debt of banking companies is not solely used for operational activities but also for providing credit funds to customers

Abstract

The rapid development of digital financial technology has significantly transformed investment activities by providing easier access to financial markets through digital investment applications. This study aims to explore the perceptions and experiences of beginner investors in making investment decisions in the digital era. Using a qualitative research approach with a phenomenological perspective, data were collected through semi-structured interviews with beginner investors who actively use digital investment applications. The collected data were analyzed using thematic analysis to identify patterns and themes related to investors’ experiences and decision-making processes. The findings reveal that investment decision-making among beginner investors is influenced by several interconnected factors, including the accessibility and usability of digital investment platforms, the influence of social media and online communities, the development of financial literacy, and psychological experiences related to investment gains and losses. Digital investment applications play a crucial role in lowering barriers to market participation by providing user-friendly interfaces and accessible financial information. However, reliance on social media as a source of investment information may also expose investors to misinformation and speculative investment behavior. In addition, emotional responses such as confidence, fear, and uncertainty often influence investment decisions among beginner investors. Overall, the study highlights that investment decision-making in the digital era is a multidimensional process shaped by technological accessibility, social influence, financial knowledge, and psychological factors. These findings contribute to a deeper understanding of investor behavior in digital financial environments and emphasize the importance of financial education and responsible investment practices.

Abstract

The development of digital payment systems has encouraged micro-enterprises to adopt non-cash transaction methods that offer greater efficiency. This study aims to examine the effect of QRIS usage on transaction efficiency from the perspective of micro-enterprises in the culinary sector in Kendari City. The study employs a quantitative explanatory approach using a survey method involving 84 micro-enterprise owners who have used QRIS for at least six months. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed using simple linear regression. The results indicate that QRIS usage has a positive and significant effect on transaction efficiency. Increased utilization of QRIS is proven to accelerate transaction processes, reduce operational costs associated with cash handling, and improve the accuracy of financial record-keeping. The coefficient of determination shows that QRIS usage explains a substantial proportion of the variance in transaction efficiency. These findings highlight that QRIS functions not only as a digital payment instrument but also as a mechanism to enhance operational efficiency among micro-enterprises in the culinary sector. This study provides empirical evidence that enriches the literature on digital payment systems in the context of micro-enterprises, particularly in Eastern Indonesia, and offers practical insights for business actors and policymakers in promoting payment system digitalization.

Abstract

The increasing complexity of financial demands faced by working millennials calls for a more comprehensive understanding of the factors influencing financial well-being, particularly in Kendari City. This study aims to analyze the effects of interpersonal influence, financial self-efficacy, and financial awareness on financial well-being, with financial behavior serving as a mediating variable and financial resilience as a moderating variable. Data were collected through structured questionnaires administered to 289 working millennials who earn their own income. Data analysis was conducted using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results indicate that interpersonal influence, financial self-efficacy, and financial awareness have a significant effect on financial behavior. Furthermore, financial behavior and financial resilience significantly influence financial well-being. Financial behavior has been shown to mediate the relationships among interpersonal influence, financial self-efficacy, financial awareness, and financial well-being. In addition, financial resilience strengthens the relationship between financial behavior and financial well-being, acting as a protective resource in facing economic pressures.
