Abstract

Along with the times of technology in the field of education, there are many updates in the use of learning media, one example is by using the Quizizz application. The Quizizz application really helps teachers in the teaching and learning process. The Quizizz application has many interesting features, and makes learning more fun. This quizizz application is one of the learning media chosen by teachers to carry out the learning process in early childhood. The purpose of this study was to determine how much impact quizizz learning media has on increasing early childhood learning interest and motivation. This study uses a skinative method in which the data is obtained through the introduction of the quizizz application to early childhood and direct interviews with several parties such as teachers and parents of children. The results showed that the use of the Quizizz application in early childhood was carried out well starting from the planning, implementation, and evaluation stages. From this research it can be concluded that this quizizz application is very helpful in the learning process of children so that children more quickly understand the lessons conveyed by the teacher and with interesting features can also make children's learning motivation increase. The limitation of this research is that researchers only conduct research on early childhood quizizz applications even though there are still many applications that can be used to provide learning motivation in early childhood. Researchers hope that future researchers can conduct research related to early childhood learning motivation but using other learning media. This study recommends that future researchers make research as a reference in conducting research on the impact of quizizz applications in increasing early childhood learning motivation.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of technology has significantly transformed English language learning in the digital era. Traditional classroom-based learning has shifted towards technology-enhanced instruction, incorporating digital tools, mobile applications, artificial intelligence, and online learning platforms. This transformation presents new opportunities and challenges in language acquisition, necessitating an in-depth exploration of technology's role in facilitating English language learning. This study aims to analyze the impact of digital technologies on English language learning, focusing on their effectiveness in improving learners' linguistic competencies, engagement, and motivation. A qualitative research method was employed, involving a systematic literature review and thematic analysis of recent studies on technology-assisted language learning. Data were collected from peer-reviewed journal articles, conference proceedings, and educational reports to examine current trends, benefits, and limitations of digital tools in language education. The findings reveal that technology plays a crucial role in enhancing language skills, particularly in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Digital platforms foster interactive learning, personalized instruction, and autonomous learning experiences. However, challenges such as digital literacy gaps, accessibility issues, and the need for teacher training remain significant barriers to effective technology integration. This study concludes that while technology offers substantial benefits for English language learning, its optimal use requires strategic implementation, teacher readiness, and institutional support. Further research is needed to explore emerging technologies and their long-term impact on language acquisition.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the major writing difficulties faced by first-year students in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) contexts at Universitas Negeri Makassar. A qualitative research approach was employed, involving the analysis of students’ written assignments and in-depth interviews with 15 purposively selected participants. The findings reveal four key areas of difficulty: grammatical and sentence structure errors, limited vocabulary and inappropriate word choice, poor paragraph organization, and a lack of coherence and cohesion. In addition to these surface-level issues, the study uncovered several underlying contributing factors, including limited exposure to English outside the classroom, inadequate writing instruction, first language interference, emotional barriers, and excessive reliance on translation technology. These results indicate that students’ writing challenges are not solely rooted in linguistic deficiencies but are shaped by a broader ecosystem of influences that impact their development as academic writers. A deeper understanding of these factors is essential for designing more effective pedagogical interventions—ones that address both technical errors and the developmental needs of EFL learners.
