Abstract

Efforts that can be taken in community welfare and development programs are the fulfillment of thequality and quantity of animal protein. An alternative to meet the needs of meat/animal protein is fromducks. However, in reality the maintenance of ducks often experiences problems with the length ofharvest and the quality of meat that contains a lot of cholesterol, and the mortality of livestock is veryhigh so that the use of banana peels is expected to increase the intestinal microflora and immunity ofducks and can reduce cholesterol levels of duck meat, so that productivity increases. The purpose ofthe community service program engaged in agriculture-food using banana peels is to pioneer theformation of SMEs engaged in the production of low-cholesterol ducks, develop a pilot business forlow-cholesterol duck products using banana peels, and apply various innovations and findings relatedto the use of banana peels. so that it can be more easily applied by society and industry. The result ofthe extension and mentoring activities was an increase in understanding and application of rationformulations by partner duck farmers. In addition, increasing the production and welfare of partnerduck farmers in Kerawan Sari Village, South Lampung Regency.

Abstract

Upaya yang dapat ditempuh dalam program kesejahteraan masyarakat dan pembangunan adalah pemenuhan kualitas dan kuantitas protein hewani.  Namun dalam pelaksanaan untuk pemenuhan kuantitas dan kualitas daging sulit tercapai mengingat kondisi perekonomian saat ini, maka hal tersebut dapat dilakukan dengan penganekaragaman penyediaan protein hewani. Alternatif untuk memenuhi kebutuhan daging/protein hewani yaitu dari ternak itik. Namun dalam kenyataannya pemeliharaan itik sering mengalami kendala lamanya panen dan kualitas daging yang banyak menganduk kolesterol, dan mortalitas ternak sangat tinggi sehingga pemanfaatan kulit pisang diharapkan dapat meningkatkan mikroflora usus dan kekebalan tubuh itik dan dapat menurunkan kadar kolesterol daging itik,  sehingga produktifitas  meningkat, mendukung terciptanya produksi daging nasional yang sehat, tanpa menimbulkan penyakit degeratif, disenangi konsumen, dan dapat direkomendasikan sebagai daging alternative untuk pencapaian angka kecukupan protein 15.59 g/kapita/hari di tahun 2020 (BPS, 2019). Tujuan program pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang bergerak dibidang pertanian-pangan menggunakan kulit pisang adalah 1) merintis pembentukan UKM yang bergerak dibidang produksi itik rendah kolesterol, 2) mengembangkan usaha percontohan produk iitik rendah kolesterol dengan pemanfaatan kulit pisang, dan 3) menerapkan berbagai hasil inovasi dan temuan berkaitan dengan pemanfaatan kulit pisang agar dapat lebih mudah diaplikasikan oleh masyarakat dan industri.

Abstract

Hypertensive disorders during pregnancy, particularly preeclampsia, are a leading cause of maternal and perinatal mortality worldwide. Preeclampsia can progress into severe complications such as eclampsia and HELLP syndrome. Factors such as age, pregnancy history, and body mass index (BMI) are known to play a role in the occurrence of this condition. This study was conducted at RSUD Haji Makassar to identify determinant factors influencing the occurrence of preeclampsia in pregnant women. This study used a descriptive-analytical approach with a retrospective design, where secondary data were obtained from medical records of patients diagnosed with preeclampsia during a specific period (year 2024). Analysis was performed on factors influencing the incidence of preeclampsia in pregnant women at RSUD Haji Makassar. Age, parity, BMI, and height significantly influenced the occurrence of preeclampsia. Older age and higher parity increased the risk of preeclampsia. Higher BMI and shorter height were also associated with higher blood pressure, which worsened the condition. However, gravida and weight did not show significant effects. Age, parity, BMI, and height are significant determinants of preeclampsia. Management and prevention of preeclampsia should consider these factors to improve maternal and fetal safety during pregnancy.
