Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to improve the mathematics learning outcomes of class XI Biosfer students from SMA Negeri 2 Medan through the application of the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) approach using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on polynomial materials. The research consists of pre-cycle, cycle I, and cycle II. Each cycle consists of several stages, namely, planning, implementation, observation, evaluation, and reflection, which are conducted on 36 class XI Biosfer students in the 2024/2025 academic year. The TaRL approach with the PBL learning model was applied during Cycles I and II, each consisting of two meetings. Data collection at the pre-cycle stage was carried out through cognitive diagnostic assessments and interviews with mathematics teachers. In Cycles I and II, measurements are carried out through cognitive tests at the end of each cycle. The results of the study showed a significant increase in the average value and percentage of learning outcome completion. In the pre-cycle stage, the average value and percentage of completion were 60 (36.1%), which then increased in cycle I to 72.5 (61.1%) and further increased in cycle II to 86.1 (80.5%). This finding confirms that the application of the TaRL approach with the PBL learning model can effectively improve mathematics learning outcomes in students. The results of this study can be used as a reference for teachers, schools, and other researchers seeking to improve the effectiveness of classroom learning.

Abstract

The low scores of students in the Islamic Religious Education (IRE) subject, which have not yet met the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM), indicate challenges in the learning process. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of a blended learning model based on the Quizizz application on student learning outcomes at SMA Negeri 1 Katibung using a quasi-experimental method with a post-test only control group design and simple random sampling technique. The sample consisted of 63 eleventh-grade students divided into an experimental class using the blended learning model and a control class using a traditional learning model. The instrument used was a valid and reliable multiple-choice test administered after the treatment. Data analysis included normality test, homogeneity test, independent sample t-test, and Mann-Whitney U test. The results showed that the Sig. (2-tailed) value in Levene’s Test for Equality of Variances was 0.228 (>0.05), thus the null hypothesis Ho was accepted and the alternative hypothesis Ha was rejected, meaning that the Quizizz-based blended learning model was not effective in improving student learning outcomes. Therefore, teachers are advised to evaluate this learning model and consider alternative methods. The school is also recommended to provide training on learning technology for teachers. Researchers are encouraged to investigate other factors affecting learning outcomes and expand the scope of research. Furthermore, relevant parties are expected to support the use of technology through appropriate policies and adequate facilities.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (IRE) plays a pivotal role in fostering knowledge and enhancing students’ personal development. However, its implementation faces several major challenges, notably the low level of student interest and active participation in IRE subjects. This is particularly evident in the aspect of student engagement, which reached only 21% based on the results of a preliminary survey. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of implementing the Game-Based Learning (GBL) model in increasing students’ learning interest in IRE at SMP Negeri 23 Bandar Lampung. To address this issue, the study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design. Data analysis techniques included normality testing, homogeneity testing, and hypothesis testing using both the Independent Samples t-Test and the non-parametric Mann-Whitney U test. The research findings indicate that the GBL model significantly enhances students’ learning interest. The application of Game-Based Learning (GBL) has proven effective in improving students’ enthusiasm for learning IRE at SMP Negeri 23 Bandar Lampung, fostering a learning environment that is both enjoyable and participatory. These findings imply the necessity of integrating game-based approaches into IRE instructional strategies to sustainably boost student engagement and motivation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between the internalization of religious moderation values and the spiritual quotient (SQ) of students, with a particular emphasis on the role of local cultural accommodation as a key element. Religious moderation values such as tawasuth, tasamuh, tawazun, and i'tidal are internalized through educational practices and school culture, and are assumed to play a role in shaping the spiritual dimensions of students, including the meaning of life, self-awareness, and transcendental relationships. The study employs a correlational quantitative approach with parametric testing to ensure the validity and significance of the relationship. The results indicate a significant and linear relationship between the internalization of religious moderation values and the students' spiritual quotient. Local cultural accommodation emerges as a strong indicator in bridging religious values with contextual spiritual experiences. The internalization of values through local religious cultural experiences helps students develop a spirituality that is non-dogmatic, yet reflective, inclusive, and transformative. The study recommends the integration of religious moderation values with local culture-based education in the development of religious and character education curricula.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of using a blended learning model in improving students' learning outcomes in Islamic Education at SMA Negeri 1 Katibung. The research followed a quantitative approach with an experimental design and a post-test only control group method. The sample included two classes: a control group using traditional teaching methods and an experimental group applying the blended learning model. A multiple-choice test, which was validated for reliability and validity, was used to assess students' learning outcomes after the treatment. The data collected was analyzed using a t-test to compare the learning outcomes between the groups. Normality tests for both groups showed that the data followed a normal distribution, with a significance value of 0.060 (greater than 0.05). Homogeneity tests confirmed the data was homogeneous, with a significance value of 0.212 (greater than 0.05). The t-test results, including Levene’s Test for Equality of Variances, indicated a significance value of 0.113 (greater than 0.05). Based on these results, it was concluded that the Quizizz-based blended learning model did not have a significant impact on students’ learning outcomes, suggesting that the model was not effective.
