Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui nilai natural increase (NI), nilai net replacement rate (NRR), dan output pada sapi bali di Kecamatan Bulik. Materi dalam penelitian ini meliputi 106 orang peternak sebagai responden dan 366 ekor sapi bali. Penelitian ini bersifat analitik menggunakan metode survay dengan teknik penggambilan data secara purposif sampling. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukan nilai natural increase (NI) sapi bali jantan dan betina keseluruhannya adalah 24,32% berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini maka nilai NI sapi bali tergolong sedang, Hasil estimasi output sapi Bali yaitu 24,67% dari populasi yang terdiri dari sisa replacement jantan 7,3% atau 27 ekor dan betina 10,32% atau 38 ekor serta ternak afkir jantan 3,73% atau 14 ekor dan betina 3,32% atau 12 ekor, kesimpulan pada penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa Kecamatan Bulik Kabupaten Lamandau dinyatakan layak untuk daerah pembibitan sapi Bali

Abstract

Potensi Sumber daya Alam (SDA) pada bidang peternakan terus mengalami peningkatan di Desa Sumber Mulya Kabupaten Lamandau. Peningkatan terjadi sebab masyarakat di Desa Sumber Mulya Kabupaten Lamandau mulai mengembangkan usaha peternakan. Meningkatnya keinginan masyarakat terhadap usaha ternak selaras dengan kebutuhan konsumsi protein hewani yang terus meningkat dari tahun ke tahun.  Hal tersebut akan berjalan selaras dengan adanya pengelolaan manajemen peternakan dengan baik. Permasalahan yang sering timbul ialah ternak tidak selalu bunting dalam tiap tahunnya. Rata-rata masyarakat masih menggunakan kawin alam sebagai alternatif pengembangan usaha peternakan khususnya sapi potong. Permasalahan ini semakin di perkuat dengan melemahnya deteksi berahi dan sistem rekording. Inseminasi Buatan (IB) merupakan salah satu teknologi reproduksi ternak apabila diterapkan akan efisien dan sistem kawin dan kebuntingan pada ternak dapat diatur. Perbandingan kawin alam 1 pejantan hanya bisa mengawinin 1 ekor betina akan tetapi jika menggunakan IB masyarakat tidak perlu membeli pemacek/pejantan cukup dilakukan secara inseminasi. Hal tersebut tentunya harus didukung oleh perencanaan IB dengan baik agar target kebuntingan tercapai. Metode partisipatif masyarakat melalui penyuluhan dan diskusi bersama masyarakat akan menghasilkan studi kasus dan dapat dipecahkan bersama melalui penjelasan gambar dalam brosur akan memberikan pemahaman lebih sederhana dan dipahami masyarakat.

Abstract

Polutry farming in Central Kalimantan has shown a positive trend in the last 3 years. The increase in chicken farming causes the use of livestock rations to increase. Feeding is the largest contributor to production costs in the chicken farming industry, contributing 70-80% of production costs. The current increase in feed prices means that farmers have to look for new innovations to overcome this problem, where the price of animal feed rations is relatively cheaper and the nutrition obtained by livestock is still achieved. The innovation that can be used is using palm oil waste as a substitute for corn and rice bran. Palm kernel meal (BIS) is a by-product of the palm oil industry where the nutritional content obtained by BIS is very suitable as an alternative animal feed in terms of nutritional content and is easy to obtain at a relatively cheaper price. However, there is no model for formulating animal feed rations. So in this research, a model of animal feed ration formulation was created using the linear programming method to determine the optimal composition for preparing this animal feed ration. The objective function of this model is to minimize the price of animal feed rations. Before the model is used, model verification and validation is carried out which is useful for testing logical suitability and compatibility with the real system. The results of the model that has been created can reduce the cost of producing animal feed rations is 11%, which is the actual condition Rp. 6,800 and the model obtained is Rp. 6,114 where the nutrition obtained is relatively the same as actual conditions. Abstract

Saanen goats have low semen volume per ejaculation but high concentration. This study was conducted at the Singosari Center Artificial Insemination (SCAI), Malang Regency, East Java. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using various diluents on the quality of Saanen goat semen. The samples used consisted of 3 male Saanen goats with body weights of 32.5 kg, 43 kg and 44.5 kg with ages of 1.5-2 years. The use of various different diluents consisted of tris aminomethane egg yolk diluent (Treatment 0), AndroMed® (Treatment I) and OvixCell® (Treatment II). The research method used a laboratory experimental method using a Randomized Block Design (RAK). Data analysis using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) if there is a significant or very significant difference then further analysis using Duncan's Multiple Range Test. The results showed that the use of various different diluents had no significant effect (P>0.05) on motility, viability and spermatozoa abnormalities. The research variables included volume, color, pH, odor, consistency, spermatozoa concentration, motility, viability and abnormality. The results showed that the use of various diluents was feasible to be used as diluents and was able to maintain normal motility>40%, spermatozoa survival and abnormality (<5%) against semen freezing.
