Abstract

Breeding ducks has several advantages, including: 1) the stages of raising ducks are easier; growth period; 2) duck growth is much faster, need 40 days to harvest; 3) marketing of meat and egg crops is easier; and 4) you can sell other parts to ducks, duck feathers for crafts and their droppings can be used as catfish feed. For laying ducks, their eggs can be harvested when they are 5 to 7 months old. Breeding ducks promises big enough profits that one of the livestock groups "Taret Jaya" has been raising broiler ducks since 2022. The community service partner is the Taret Jaya livestock group, located in Air Anyir village, Merawang sub-district, Bangka Regency. Based on the results of the survey to partner locations, there were several partner problems, including: manual counting of ingredients, limited knowledge of duck feed mixture ingredients, limited knowledge in making duck feed (fermentation process), and the mixing process in making feed was still manual. Currently, partners chop the feed ingredients using machetes and stir the feed ingredients using a hoe. The ingredients that have been stirred are then directly given to the ducks without going through a fermentation process. Through community service at this department level, the service team provides a solution that is offered in the form of a duck feed mixer machine. Mixing time with 50-60 kg of mixed material using a machine is 6 times faster than manually, namely around 5 minutes, compared to manual which takes 30 minutes. The service team has handed over to service partners, among other things: one unit of feed mixing machine, DOD duck seeds, feed making materials, and other supporting equipment for raising livestock. With this machine, partners can increase their livestock productivity.

Abstract

Metal cutting is the stage of processing profile raw materials and steel plates according to the cut marks that have been set in the marking process. One of the metal cutting techniques is to use oxy acetylene welding where the cutting occurs due to the reaction of oxygen and steel. Oxy acetylene welding is a manual cutting and welding process, in which the surfaces to be joined are heated until melted by the flame of acetylene gas, namely burning C₂H₂ with O₂ with filler metal or without filler metal where the joining process is without pressure. Besides for welding purposes (connection), oxy acetylene welding can also be used as preheating, brazing, cutting and hard facing. In the process of cutting iron pipes using oxy acetylene welding manually, the problem that is often found is the results of uneven and not straight cuts. This causes a leveling process to be needed on the edges that are cut so that they are flat and straight. In this research, a pipe cutting machine with oxy acetylene welding has been made which aims to produce straight, smooth, and even pipe cutting. The pipe cutting machine that has been made can produce flat, smooth, and straight iron pipe cuts on iron pipes with a diameter of 4.5 inches, 3.5 inches and 3 inches with a cutting time of 32 seconds, a motor wave rotation speed of 5.8 Hz, and a cut tolerance of ± 3 mm.

Abstract

Drying is a process of transferring heat and water vapor simultaneously which requires heat energy to evaporate the water content. This heat energy can usually be obtained from sunlight. However, during the rainy season, this condition inhibits the drying process that utilizes sunlight, so the drying process takes a long time. Therefore we need a tool that can dry clothes without depending on the heat source from the sun's rays. The clothes dryer is a tool used to dry clothes with artificial heat energy, one of the artificial heat producers is a heating element or what is often called a heater. The artificial heating element used in this research is Electric Heater. This Electric Heater is equipped with a fan that can produce an indoor temperature of up to ± 52.3º C so that the heat generated by the Electric Heater can convert the water contained in the clothes into water vapor which will then be released into the environment with the help of a fan. Based on the results of calculations and testing, the ability of this tool is able to evaporate an average mass of water of 535.8 grams/hour and this machine reaches its optimum point for the number of drying clothes that can be dried as many as 6 clothes.

Abstract

Alignment is a technique used to maintain machine components that rotate or transfer power so they can operate as effectively as possible and prevent damage to other machine components from errors made during installation or maintenance. Alignment is a maintenance activity that is often carried out on machines in industry and machines within the Morowali Metal Industry Polytechnic, especially in the Mechanical Maintenance Engineering Study Program. Competency in the alignment of gears and bearings is very much needed for prospective mechanics in the industry. The purpose of making this tool is as a simulation tool for learning alignment to achieve straightness and centricity between two rotating shafts (drive and driven shaft) to prevent friction, vibration, and other problems that can reduce tool life and, of course, increase expenditure costs. for repair or replacement of heavy equipment. In the process of designing this alignment tool, a drive method is used in the form of a sprocket and chain, where the link between the drive motor and the shaft to be moved is the sprocket and chain method. This research serves to help produce a design by considering the user's perspective so that the design results can be useful effectively. From the test results, the gear alignment setting tool can function well with the help of an inverter so that motor rotation can be reduced and can be controlled according to the desired conditions. The previous alignment setting tool had an RPM: of 1450.8 and the alignment setting tool that was made had an RPM: of 1455.7 with a frequency of 50 Hz so it can be concluded that this tool can be used for practical work in machine repair and maintenance laboratories.

Abstract

Solusi pemenuhan energi listrik di daerah pedalaman dapat terselesaikan dengan menggunakan sumber energi terbarukan seperti panel surya yang dapat dibangun pada daerah terpencil dan minim infrastruktur. Penggunaan panel surya sendiri membutuhkan suhu optimal pada 25⁰C, sementara itu pada saat siang hari suhu pada panel surya bisa mencapai 45⁰C suhu optimal tersebut, dengan itu perlu adanya pengoptimalan suhu kerja pada panel surya dengan diberikan pendinginan untuk meningkatkan daya keluaran pada panel surya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendinginan pada panel surya yang menggunakan variasi pendinginginan air pada suhu 25-70⁰C. Hasil dari penelitian didapatkan rerata efisiensi pada panel surya yang bersuhu air 60-70°C 11,42,% dengan rerata daya keluaran 19,58W, rerata efisiensi panel surya dengan air bersuhu 25-28°C adalah 12,40% rerata daya keluaran 21,26W dan rerata efisiensi panel surya tanpa air adalah 11,86% dengan rerata daya keluaran 20,34W. Dan untuk pengujian panel surya dengan penambahan pendinginan memberikan pengaruh terhadap daya keluaran dan efisiensi yang dihasilkan oleh panel surya.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the implementation of the School Literacy Movement (SLM) as well as its challenges in high schools in Bangka Belitung. The study combined a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Principals, instructors, librarians, and a number of student representatives from grades X through XII from three schools in Kab. Bangka Barat were the subjects of this study. In order to gather data for this study, observation, interviews, and documentation were used. The study's findings demonstrated that the SLM program had not been executed at SMA/MA in Kab. Bangka Barat in the most effective way possible. This was evident from the inadequate preparatory phase, which prevented the SLM program from being implemented to its full potential. The implementation of this SLM remained hampered by a number of challenges, according to this study. These included students' low reading interest, the school's limited supply of reading materials, its lack of time to give students reading assignments, and its inconsistent application. Also, it had not been shown how important parents of students were to the success of this program.

Abstract

Indonesia is an agricultural country where the majority of the population is farming. Farmers in Indonesia still use many traditional methods in processing agricultural land such as using hoes. In previous studies, a soil bulking machine was made with a slope of the plow blade angle of 90 ° and obtained less than optimal loose results. The influencing factor is that the angle of the hoe eye is not large, therefore the manufacture of a soil bulking machine is carried out using a hoe-shaped plow with the slope of the corner of the hoe eye enlarged to 110 °. The soil bulking machine uses 30 hoe-shaped plowshares with a hoe blade height of 10 cm, a width of 10 cm and a hoe tip thickness of 6 mm. The type of soil that can be plowed by this soil bulking machine is soil that has been cultivated on agricultural land. The test was conducted on an area of 28 m2. In the first experiment, it took an average of 18.78 seconds with an average pirated depth of 9.76 cm. In the second experiment, it took an average of 16.91 seconds with an average pirated depth of 9.30 cm. In the third experiment, it took an average of 19.24 seconds with an average pirated depth of 11.26 cm. The result of soil loosening with an average productivity of 1.53 m2 / second with an average depth of 10.10 cm.

Abstract

Efforts to develop assistive devices for children with disabilities at YPAC Foundation Pangkal Pinang, a school that provides education for children with special needs. This initiative is a form of commitment from the Mechanical Engineering Study Program in covering cooperation in the field of education at the YPAC Pangkal Pinang Foundation, where in 2023 the Mechanical Engineering Study Program at Bangka Belitung University has submitted a walking aid, but there is still much that needs to be developed from the device. The focus of this collaboration is aimed at children with disabilities, who have difficulty in mobility. Based on an evaluation by the UBB team with the General Chairperson of the YPAC Foundation, it was found that the device that we had submitted still had weaknesses in supporting walking training for children with disabilities, so that they still experienced difficulty and discomfort in experiencing walking. As a follow-up, the UBB Mechanical Engineering Team succeeded in updating a flexible walking aid that can be used by children of various ages, is safe when used and is expected to improve the mobility and quality of life of children with disabilities at the YPAC Pangkal Pinang Foundation.
