Abstract

Indonesia has a population of 270 million people and will face tough challenges in obtaining Sustainable Development Goals, especially related to Responsible Consumption and Production (RCP). The Indonesian government created a National Action Plan to achieve sustainable consumption and production patterns, namely increasing economic welfare, reducing resource use, and improving quality of life. To accelerate the call for RCP, encouraging the role of the younger generation to participate in implementing the best of green economic practices is the right strategy. This research is intended to get an overview of the extent to which the younger generation wants to participate from a behavioral angle (green economy consumers). Respondents involved in the study were 229 young people from various regions in Indonesia. Interesting results were obtained from the research model, indicating that intention strongly influences behavior and impacts willingness to participate using the SEM-Lisrel analysis. However, the awakening of intentions among the younger generation is mostly influenced by positive attitudes, while the norms and perceptions do not show strong indications of their influence. These findings form a strong basis for the development of behavioral research that can answer the research gap involving the younger generation to act as green consumers in a proven way. The younger generation can be environmentally responsible consumers by using eco-friendly products.

Abstract

Tourism from 2021 to 2023 has continued to show growth in West Java, particularly in the Bogor Regency/City area. The increasing competition in the tourism industry demands that stakeholders be able to compete by focusing on the marketing mix. Panorama Hejo is a new nature tourism attraction and accommodation in the Sentul area, established in 2023. The urgency of this research to help identify the overall 7Ps and how to develop them to make the destination more attractive to tourists. This is particularly relevant due to several complaints found in Google Reviews from tourists who have previously visited Panorama Hejo in Bogor. Therefore, this study is expected to identify the 7Ps marketing mix according to both stakeholders and tourists, assess the potential for development, and provide recommendations for improvement for Panorama Hejo. The research was conducted through field observations and interviews with stakeholders and tourists who were able to provide information regarding the marketing mix of Panorama Hejo.

Abstract

Sustainable practices in the food service industry are gaining prominence in tourism-driven Indonesian cities like Jakarta, Bandung, and Labuan Bajo (East Nusa Tenggara), where restaurants significantly impact the environment. Therefore, this study examines sustainable practices in food service management by exploring eco-friendly restaurants in Indonesia's tourism cities through a quantitative research approach. An online questionnaire was distributed, collecting responses from 257 participants to assess the impact of Sustainable Sourcing Ingredients, Waste Management Practices, and Energy Efficiency Measures on Customer Perception, with Customer Experience acting as a moderate variable. The results show that sustainable sourcing, waste management, and energy efficiency significantly influence customer perception of eco-friendly restaurants. Customer experience further strengthens these relationships. The study emphasizes the need for better communication and transparency, suggesting tools like eco-labeling, storytelling, and digital engagement. It offers valuable insights from a developing tourism context to support sustainable food service management and promote responsible consumer behavior.

Abstract

Abstract

This study examines the behavioral determinants and strategic enablers of green consumption among Indonesian youth, aligning with Sustainable Development Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production. Employing a mixed-methods approach, the research integrates structural modeling via partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) with multi-stakeholder prioritization through the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). Quantitative data collected from 229 respondents aged 18–35 indicate that attitude (? = 0.89), perceived behavioral control (? = 0.16), and actual behavior (? = 0.70) significantly influence the willingness to engage in green consumption. Interestingly, perceived behavioral control also exerts a negative effect (? = –0.58), pointing to possible psychological or systemic constraints. Complementary qualitative insights were obtained from focus group discussions involving 25 stakeholders representing government agencies, non-governmental organizations, academia, and the private sector. These discussions identified and ranked key sustainability strategies, with top priorities including the integration of environmental topics into formal education, the expansion of eco-friendly public infrastructure, and the enhancement of youth-focused awareness campaigns. The findings underscore the dual necessity of fostering individual behavioral intentions and providing institutional support through coordinated stakeholder action. This study offers evidence-based recommendations for policymakers, educators, and industry actors to strengthen youth engagement in sustainable consumption initiatives.

Abstract

Tourism potential in Serang City is almost eliminated and forgotten along with the city’s continuous expansion. The role of urban millennials in promoting tourism is now important. Therefore, researchers used urban millennials as respondents in this study. By using SEM analysis with the SmartPLS application, this research was conducted to determine destination image preferences from millennial tourists in Serang City and their influence on e-WOM and the decision to visit. The results indicated support for affective image, price image, and travel motivation positively influence e-WOM. However, e-WOM does not appear to have a significant positive influence on the decision to visit. Additionally, cognitive image is the only factor that positively influences the decision to visit directly. The proposed mediating role of e-WOM in the relationship between destination image with the decision to visit is not supported. The findings of this study offer important factors for the destination marketers, policymakers, and businesses of a potential tourism city, in this case Serang City, to consider when developing a specific marketing strategy for this market segment (urban millennials). In addition, the results of this study provide a better understanding of the urban millennial perspective on their decision to visit cities with tourism potential.

Abstract

West Java tourism has great potential to attract domestic and international tourists. Throughout 2022, 52.3 million domestic tourists will visit tourist attractions in West Java, while the number of foreign tourists will reach 146 thousand. The main attraction of West Java is its rich natural resources and traditional cultural heritage. The foundations of this culture are still felt strongly in the community, especially in their skills in making crafts and souvenirs, which are the main theme of this region. Therefore, bus drivers serving the route of Lb. Bulus-Tasikmalaya has great potential to promote West Java tourism. Interaction with many tourists from various regions and backgrounds, during a long journey that takes around 8-10 hours can be used as a golden opportunity to promote West Java tourism. One of them is by providing information about tourist destinations in West Java, such as natural, cultural, culinary, and historical tourist attractions. This PkM aims to empower Lb bus drivers. Bulus-Tasikmalaya to become an effective West Java tourism promotion agent. Data was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Observation results show that bus drivers have limited knowledge about West Java's tourism potential. Apart from that, bus drivers also do not have adequate tourism promotional materials. Based on the results of observations, it is recommended to empower bus drivers through training, providing tourism promotional materials, and providing incentives. By providing training, providing tourism promotion materials, and incentives, bus drivers experience increased knowledge and skills in promoting the tourism image of West Java, improve the quality of service and charity towards tourists, and increase tourist interest.
