Abstract

Wellness tourism is one of the increasingly popular forms of tourism that holds significant potential to support sustainable tourism development. This research was conducted in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, known for its natural beauty, rich culture, and serene, pollution-free atmosphere, which are key factors supporting health and relaxation-based tourism. The study aims to explore the potential and challenges of developing wellness tourism in Lombok and its contribution to sustainable tourism in the region. Using a descriptive qualitative method, data was collected through observation, interviews with tourism stakeholders and tourists, as well as field documentation. The findings indicate that Lombok, particularly the Gili Trawangan and Senggigi areas, has strong appeal as a wellness tourism destination. However, the development of wellness tourism still faces several challenges, such as a lack of targeted promotion and high domestic transportation costs. These findings suggest that wellness tourism can be a strategic approach to achieving sustainable tourism, provided there is policy support, adequate infrastructure, and active involvement of local communities.

Abstract

Home-based food businesses are one form of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) that play a strategic role in supporting family economic resilience. However, in practice, this type of business actor often faces challenges in financial management, especially related to calculating the cost of production (HPP), recording transactions, and selecting packaging that is not only visually attractive but also supports the principles of environmental sustainability. This Community Service (PKM) activity was carried out with the aim of increasing the entrepreneurial literacy of residents, especially in terms of business management and the use of environmentally friendly packaging. The methods used include field observation, interactive counseling, group discussions, and evaluations based on participant feedback. The results of the activity program show that most business actors have not implemented financial records and do not have a distinctive brand identity or product packaging. After the counseling, there was an increase in understanding regarding the importance of separating business and household resources, recording business costs in a structured manner, and using packaging that supports the zero waste movement. This activity program makes a positive contribution to building awareness of more economically and ecologically responsible entrepreneurs among home-based food MSME actors.

Abstract

This study analyzes the influence of developing contemporary art galleries as tourist attractions on tourist visit intention. Using a quantitative descriptive approach and causal method, questionnaires were given to 100 respondents who had visited contemporary art galleries at TMII. Data were analyzed with SmartPLS 3.2.9. The results show that reliability and responsiveness have a significant influence on return visit intention. reliability has a strong relationship with visit intention, while responsiveness has a very significant influence. In contrast, perceived beliefs and tangibles showed no significant effect. These findings emphasize the importance of reliability and responsiveness in influencing tourists' decision to revisit contemporary art galleries. By improving service reliability and responsiveness, art galleries can increase visitor satisfaction and loyalty, and encourage tourist revisits.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of marketing mix strategies in the development of MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) services at Wisma Universitas Terbuka. The research employed a qualitative method with a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and documentation. The findings show that several elements of the 7Ps—such as product, place, price, and physical evidence—have been implemented quite well in supporting MICE services. However, significant weaknesses were identified in the aspects of promotion, process, and human resources. These weaknesses include the absence of a digital promotion strategy, the lack of standardized service procedures, and insufficiently professional competencies among the human resources in the MICE field. This study recommends a strategic integration of marketing mix elements to strengthen brand image and service quality, with particular emphasis on digital transformation and the development of professional human resources. The results are expected to serve as a foundation for formulating marketing strategies that are both applicable and adaptive to the dynamics of the competitive MICE industry, thereby reinforcing Wisma Universitas Terbuka’s position as a leading and reliable institutional MICE service provider.

Abstract

Tourism potential in Serang City is almost eliminated and forgotten along with the city’s continuous expansion. The role of urban millennials in promoting tourism is now important. Therefore, researchers used urban millennials as respondents in this study. By using SEM analysis with the SmartPLS application, this research was conducted to determine destination image preferences from millennial tourists in Serang City and their influence on e-WOM and the decision to visit. The results indicated support for affective image, price image, and travel motivation positively influence e-WOM. However, e-WOM does not appear to have a significant positive influence on the decision to visit. Additionally, cognitive image is the only factor that positively influences the decision to visit directly. The proposed mediating role of e-WOM in the relationship between destination image with the decision to visit is not supported. The findings of this study offer important factors for the destination marketers, policymakers, and businesses of a potential tourism city, in this case Serang City, to consider when developing a specific marketing strategy for this market segment (urban millennials). In addition, the results of this study provide a better understanding of the urban millennial perspective on their decision to visit cities with tourism potential.

Abstract

Following the 2018 tsunami and the COVID-19 pandemic, Tanjung Lesung, Indonesia's first Tourism Special Economic Zone (SEZ) has faced profound challenges. These crises caused a sharp decline in tourist visits, safety concerns, and damage to the area’s reputation, slowing local economic growth and diminishing the SEZ's contributions to the national economy. These events underscored the vulnerability of tourism systems and raised concerns regarding achieving sustainable tourism objectives. This study examines the 4A framework (Attractions, Accessibility, Amenities, and Ancillary Services) to explore its role in fostering resilience and sustainability in the tourism industry. Key Penta-helix stakeholders were interviewed in-depth using a qualitative descriptive technique from both public and private sectors. This study shows that rejuvenating tourism in Tanjung Lesung SEZ depends on including the 4A framework. Results offer practical suggestions such as encouraging sustainable economic growth and good work for local communities (SDGs 1 and SDGs 8), improving safety and disaster risk reduction, and supporting action to mitigate climate change (SDGs 13). This study highlights the importance of multi-stakeholder cooperation as well as the 4A framework in reaching sustainable tourist development in a post-crisis context.
