Abstract

Islamic finance has emerged as a viable alternative to conventional financial systems, playing an increasingly important role in promoting financial inclusion both in Indonesia and globally. This study investigates the dynamic relationship between macroeconomic variables, Islamic finance, and economic growth in Indonesia, considering both short- and long-term perspectives. Employing the Vector Error Correction Model (VECM), the research utilizes monthly time series data spanning from January 2011 to December 2023. The model includes gross fixed capital formation, trade openness, and inflation as macroeconomic indicators; Islamic bank financing, Sharia mutual funds, and sukuk as proxies for Islamic finance; and GDP at constant prices as a proxy for economic growth. The findings indicate that, in the short run, inflation has a significantly negative effect on economic growth. In contrast, in the long run, all selected Islamic finance indicators—as well as gross fixed capital formation and trade openness—exhibit a significant positive relationship with economic growth. Granger causality tests reveal unidirectional causality from economic growth to both capital formation and Sharia mutual funds, and from trade openness to inflation. Additional unidirectional relationships are observed from inflation to both economic growth and sukuk issuance; from capital formation to sukuk and mutual funds; and from Islamic bank financing to both inflation and sukuk. These results highlight the critical role of Islamic financial development in supporting economic growth and contributing to poverty alleviation. This study offers a valuable contribution as one of the first empirical investigations into the macroeconomic significance of Islamic finance in Indonesia.======================================================================================================== ABSTRAK - Keuangan Syariah sebagai Katalisator Pertumbuhan Ekonomi: Bukti dari Indonesia.

Abstract

This article is the result of a review of the book "Al-Islam Wa Ushul Al-Hukm" by 'Ali Abd al-Raziq, which offers an in-depth analysis of the relationship between politics and religion, especially regarding the concept of the caliphate in Islam. 'Ali Abd al-Raziq argues that the caliphate is not mandatory in Islam and that Islamic law can be interpreted flexibly according to the context of time and place, without being tied to the traditional caliphate system. This book highlights al-Raziq's view that the Prophet Muhammad was more of a spiritual leader than a head of state in the modern sense, so that Muslims were free to choose a form of government that suited their social and political needs, including a model that separated religion from state affairs. This view approaches the principle of secularism in Western legal theory, which advocates a separation between religious and state institutions. Although al-Raziq's views were controversial, especially among traditional ulama, he opened a new discourse about flexibility in the application of Islamic principles in modern governance. The book emphasizes that the primary goals of government are social justice and the welfare of the people, values ??that are in line with Western legal theory. This view shows that although the methods and sources of law are different, these two approaches both try to achieve a just and prosperous society.

Data sources are obtained through literature in the form of scientific research journals, proceeding articles, books or some other forms of documents collected from Google Scholar, Sinta Kemendikbud, university libraries, Google Books, and some other digital sources. The data analysis technique uses thematic analysis, which is an analytical technique that allows researchers to identify and categorize thematic patterns from the previously collected literature. The results of this study reveal 1) The stages of differentiated learning management: the planning stage begins with a diagnostic assessment to diagnose students' readiness and learning styles, at the organizing stage the teacher determines the media that is suitable for students' learning styles so that the implementation stage can run optimally, then the stage of controlling learning outcomes through formative assessment. 2)The principles that need to be considered are learning environment, quality curriculum, continuous assessment, responsive learning and leadership and classroom routines. 3)In this learning, the role of teachers, especially their creativity in management, is needed to create effective and efficient learning. The existence of this research is a reference for educators to be able to carry out learning in the independent curriculum effectively and efficiently, one of which is by implementing differentiated learning
