Abstract

Knowledge of curriculum management is crucial in determining the direction of education. Managing the pesantren curriculum is one of the key foundations for improving students' Arabic language skills. Therefore, research on pesantren-based curriculum management should be conducted. This study aims to understand the general concepts, characteristics, and scope of curriculum management in general and pesantren-based curriculum management. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method with field research. The primary data for this study was obtained from Madrasah Aliyah Attanwir Bojonegoro, while secondary data was sourced from relevant literature. The purpose of this research is to identify the concepts, characteristics, and implementation of pesantren-based curriculum management in enhancing students' Arabic language skills. After conducting an in-depth analysis, this study found that the concept of pesantren curriculum management still adheres to the basic principles of general curriculum management, but there are differences in the objectives, which focus more on the curriculum of Arabic language learning, and Islamic studies. In its implementation, the pesantren curriculum management at Madrasah Aliyah Attanwir Bojonegoro adopts a semi-modern pesantren curriculum, thus positively impacting students' Arabic language learning. Moreover, the semi-modern pesantren curriculum also enhances students' Arabic language skills both theoretically and practically.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the monitoring, supervision, and curriculum improvement system in the Arabic Language Education Study Program at Sekolah Tinggi Agama Islam Negeri Mandailing Natal (STAIN Madina), assessing its effectiveness in enhancing Arabic language competence and supporting Islamic learning. Utilizing a qualitative research design, the study employs a case study methodology, combining interviews, observations, and documentation analysis. The findings reveal that the monev system, involving comprehensive planning, implementation, and reporting, effectively covers graduate competency standards, content standards, process standards, and learning assessment standards. The structured approach, involving multiple stakeholders, ensures thorough evaluation and continuous improvement. However, limitations such as the need for more in-depth internal supervision of content standards and challenges related to human resources and stakeholder engagement were noted. These findings are significant for higher education institutions aiming to enhance their curriculum systems, offering a model for structured monitoring and supervision. Further research is recommended to explore integrated internal supervision mechanisms and long-term effects on student outcomes.

Abstract

The loyalty of students in Pesantren (Islamic Boarding School) is influenced by the leadership of the Kiai, religious culture, and information technology. The purpose of this study is to understand the influence of the leadership style of the Kiai and the culture of the Islamic boarding school on the loyalty of students with information technology as a moderator variable. This study combines quantitative and qualitative approaches with a mixed method and a multi-case study. Data were collected through questionnaires, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. Quantitative analysis used moderate regression analysis (MRA), while qualitative analysis was conducted using thematic analysis. Data triangulation and member checks ensured the validity of the results. The study results indicate that kiai leadership and pesantren culture significantly influence students' loyalty at the Nurul Jadid Probolinggo and Al-Hikam Malang pesantren. With a personal approach, Kiai's inspiring and humanistic leadership builds a strong emotional bond with students. In addition, the pesantren culture that emphasises religious values and character forms student loyalty. Information technology also supports communication, operational efficiency, and more enjoyable learning. Regression analysis shows that pesantren culture has a more significant influence than leadership style, with an R² of 0.670 indicating a moderate relationship between the independent and dependent variables. The implications of this study indicate that Kiai's leadership and the pesantren's culture play an important role in building the loyalty of the students, which is strengthened by the application of information technology. The limitations of this study lie in the scope, which is limited to two pesantren, so the results cannot be generalised to other pesantren.
