Abstract

Purpose of the study: The aim of this research is to evaluate the performance of Natural Sciences teachers at MTs Nurul Huda in Muaro Jambi Regency. Methodology: This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach. The sampling technique is the Purposive sampling technique. The sample in this research was the Natural Sciences teacher at MTs Nurul Huda in Muaro Jambi Regency. Data collection in this research was carried out using document analysis and interview techniques. Document analysis using document assessment sheets. The data analysis technique used is the Miles & Huberman technique. Main Findings: Based on the results of interviews with MTs Nurul Huda Natural Sciences teachers in Muaro Jambi Regency, planning, implementation, and assessment were good. Likewise, attention from foundations and school principals should give full attention to teachers so that they can continue to develop their potential and improve their teaching performance. Novelty/Originality of this study: This research can provide a more comprehensive and contextual view in evaluating teacher performance and efforts to improve the quality of learning at MTs Nurul Huda in Muaro Jambi Regency. This can also support updates in general teacher performance evaluation methods in the educational environment.

Abstract

This research is the first to conduct a systematic review of the concept of tolerance character in the context of physics learning. The research aims to explore the definition, measurement, and development of tolerance character among high school students through physics learning. The method used in this research is the literature review method. Sampling in this study was carried out by looking for several scientific articles from previous research on the character of tolerance found on Google Scholar, which were then examined and conclusions drawn. Results of the analysis of articles regarding the character of tolerance in learning physics in high school found that the character of tolerance is a character that needs to be instilled in students at the high school education level through learning physics. The research also identified the benefits, challenges, and strategies of fostering tolerance in physics learning, such as enhancing students’ critical thinking, communication, and collaboration skills, overcoming misconceptions and stereotypes, and using inquiry-based, problem-based, and cooperative learning methods. This character of tolerance can be taught and applied in education through learning, one of which is learning physics. The novelty of this research is that it provides a comprehensive and systematic overview of the existing literature on the concept of tolerance character in the context of physics learning. The research also contributes to the literature on physics education and character education by highlighting the role of physics learning in enhancing the tolerance character of high school students.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study aims to review the influence of lecturer competence on the effectiveness of learning in higher education using a systematic literature review approach. Methodology: The methods used include a review of 10 recent articles that discuss aspects of lecturer competence, namely pedagogical, professional, social, technology adaptation, and inclusivity. Main Findings: The results of the analysis show that the pedagogical and professional competence of lecturers play a major role in supporting material understanding and student engagement. In addition, technological adaptation and inclusivity competencies are becoming increasingly important in the digital era and in dealing with diversity in the classroom. Lecturers' social competence was also found to support the creation of conducive interactions, which have a positive impact on learning effectiveness. Novelty/Originality of this study: The novelty of this study is a more comprehensive approach in reviewing the multifaceted role of lecturer competence, including aspects of technology and inclusivity, which have not been widely discussed in previous studies.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study aims to integrate local food resources into Local Content (Muatan Lokal) learning for elementary school students by utilizing avocado seed flour as a substitute for wheat flour in cookie production. Methodology: The research was conducted using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with six treatment levels of avocado seed flour substitution and five replications. The procedures included the preparation of avocado seed flour following food science standards, cookie production using a standardized baking method, and evaluation of physical properties consisting of moisture content, water activity, hardness, and color. Data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) followed by Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at a 5% significance level. Main Findings: The findings show that increasing the proportion of avocado seed flour significantly affected the physical properties of cookies, particularly reducing moisture content and increasing hardness, while also influencing color parameters (L, a, b*). Novelty/Originality of this study: The novelty of this study lies in the integration of multidisciplinary food science methods with elementary education through the development of a local food–based learning model that promotes contextual, hands-on learning using local resources. This approach strengthens food literacy and supports character development related to sustainability and the appreciation of local biodiversity.
