Abstract

Contextual and meaningful learning is limitedly implemented in elementary schools. Whereas the learning activities stated by the Merdeka Curriculum are not only limited to learning conventionally in class but also involve various activities, such as doing a project. Furthermore, learning activities in the Merdeka Curriculum include a project called Proyek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila, or Reinforcement Project of Pancasila Student Profile (P5). Regarding the problem, this study is aimed at developing a tourism-based learning model that involves local tourism content in its implementation. To implement the dimension of P5 called global unity in diversity, this learning model was integrated into English. The model was developed by using research and development design with define, design, develop, and disseminate (4D). As a result, the syntax of this learning model includes: 1) orientation, 2) inquiry process, 3) field study or outing class, 4) data analysis, 5) exhibition, and 6) reflection. This learning model was proven to be very good by material experts and practitioners. The students also revealed that this learning model was interesting and fun. They could also work collaboratively, actively, and creatively. Finally, it is expected that the students can use their English skills to promote local tourism.

Abstract

Students' abilities in writing scientific papers must continue to be improved. Utilizing a reference manager using Mendeley is one way to improve the quality of scientific writing. However, there are quite a few students who do not know and understand the optimal use of reference managers. The aim of this research is to analyze the implementation of reference manager training using Mendeley for students at Trunojoyo University, Madura. The method used is descriptive qualitative by observing training on the use of reference managers in the form of Mendeley for writing student final assignments. The results of this research show that students have different abilities in using Mendeley for writing final assignments. There are some students who already have Mendeley accounts and software. With reference manager training, students are expected to be able to write their final assignments well and with quality.

Abstract

The use of contextual-based learning media is expected to enhance student engagement in the learning process, especially in English language learning at elementary schools. This research was conducted to analyze the use of contextual-based learning media in English language learning at one of the elementary schools in Bangkalan. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, obtained from the interview, observation, and documentation from teacher and students. The research findings indicate that the school uses learning media in the form of flashcards and PowerPoint in English language subjects. The use of this learning media has been contextual by combining lesson materials with concrete examples in real life. These media are effective in enhancing students’ enthusiasm, engagement, activity, and understanding of English lesson material.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the significant effect on student learning outcomes in Pancasila Education subjects for grade V using the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) cooperative learning model. This study is a quantitative study with the type of Quasi Experimental Design and uses a Nonequivalent Control Group research design wich means that the control sample is not selected randomly. The sample used in this study was 41 students in grade V-B as the experimental class and 40 students in grade V-A as the control class. Data collection techniques used were tests and observations. The trial of the thest instrument used validity, reliability, difficulty level, and discrimonatory power tests. Hypothesis testing used the Independent Sample T-Test. Based on the result of the Independent Sample T-Test data analysis on the posttest, a significance value of 0,000 was obtained, in accordance with the criteria that if the 2-tailed significance value < 0,05, then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. The result of the hypothesis test indicate that there is a significant diffirence in the application of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) learning model on student learning outcomes in Pancasila Education subjects for grade V.
