Abstract

Remaja adalah suatu perkembangan dalam diri manusia yang memiliki tiga aspek yaitu biologis, psikologis dan sosial ekonomi. Dismenore merupakan nyeri haid dan masalah ginekologi yang paling umum terjadi pada wanita usia reproduktif. Prevalensi yang dilaporkan sangat bervariasi mulai dari 17-90%, Teknik terapi dalam mengatasi disminore ini berbagai macam mulai dari secara farmakologis dan herbal dalam mengurangi bahkan menghilangkan disminore, jahe merupakan salah satu terapi herbal yang dapat digunakan, mudah didapat, murah dan terjangkau, jahe mengandung banyak oleoresin yaitu sebagai komponen bioaktif terdiri dari gingerol dan shogaol yang berkeja sebagai antiinflamasi sehingga prostaglandin dapat terblokir sehingga mengurang intensitas disminore. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh minuman jahe (Zingiber officinale) terhadap disminore primer pada remaja putri. Penelitian ini populasi semua remaja putri dengan disminore primer yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi dengan jumlah responden sebanyak 20 menggunakan rancangan penelitian one group pretest postest only. Data yang telah dikumpulkan kemudian di analisis menggunakan uji statistic chi square (p value=0.000), berdasarkan analisis chi square menunjukkan bahwa minuman jahe (Zingiber officinale) berpengaruh mengatasi disminore primer pada remaja putri.

Abstract

Background: Breast swelling or breast engorgement is a common problem experienced by postpartum mothers and often causes pain, discomfort, and difficulties in breastfeeding. Non-pharmacological and culturally acceptable interventions are needed to manage this condition safely and effectively. Shallot compress (Allium ascalonicum L.) has been traditionally used to reduce inflammation and swelling, but scientific evidence supporting its effectiveness in postpartum breast swelling remains limited. Objective: This study aimed to examine the effect of giving shallot compress (Allium ascalonicum L.) on breast swelling in postpartum mothers. Methods: This study employed a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest–posttest approach. The sample consisted of 20 postpartum mothers experiencing breast swelling, selected using purposive sampling. The intervention involved the application of a shallot compress to the swollen breast area according to a standardized procedure. Breast swelling severity was assessed before and after the intervention using observation and checklist instruments. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential analysis with a significance level of 95%. Results: The results showed a clear reduction in breast swelling severity after the intervention. Before the intervention, most participants experienced heavy breast swelling, whereas after the intervention no participants remained in the heavy category. The mean breast swelling score decreased from 2.50 before the intervention to 1.45 after the intervention, indicating a significant improvement in breast swelling conditions among postpartum mothers. Conclusion: The application of shallot compress (Allium ascalonicum L.) was effective in reducing breast swelling severity in postpartum mothers. This intervention provides a safe, low-cost, and non-pharmacological option to support breastfeeding comfort during the postpartum period.

Abstract

The postpartum period is a 40-day recovery period for the reproductive organs. Breast milk is the best food for babies because it contains so many benefits for babies. Breast milk (Mother's Milk) is the only natural, best food for babies. Breast milk contains various nutrients needed for growth and development. The benefits of breast milk are very large, including increasing the growth of brain nerve cells, reducing the risk of babies suffering from diseases, and providing a loving relationship between mother and baby. One way to increase breast milk production is by consuming mung bean juice. Mung beans contain 20-25% protein. Mothers need a lot of protein during breastfeeding because protein contains amino acids that can stimulate breast milk secretion. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving mung bean juice to postpartum mothers on breast milk production. This study used a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pre-post design and a sampling technique using total sampling. In this study, there were 15 respondents. This study was conducted from December 2024 to January 2025. The results showed that the average breast milk production in postpartum mothers before being given mung bean juice was 1.47, and after being given mung bean juice, it increased by 2.47. Based on the results of the Wilcoxon rank test, the Asymp. Sign (2-tailed) value was 0.005 <α (0.05). Therefore, Ha was accepted, thus concluding that there was a significant difference between postpartum mothers' breast milk production before and after being given mung bean juice to postpartum mothers.
