Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis penerapan model blended learning, dilihat dari prestasi Akademi peserta didik. Permasalahan penelitian ialah Bagaimana penerapan model benda learning terhadap prestasi akademik peserta didik dalam pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Katolik kelas XI. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeri 1 Berastagi. Data dikumpulkan dengan teknik wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi serta informan penelitian terdiri atas guru Pendidikan Agama pendidikan Katolik dan peserta didik dengan kunci instrumen peneliti sendiri. Objek penelitian sekaligus sebagai data primer penelitian ialah penerapan model blended learning terhadap prestasi akademik peserta didik yang dilakukan guru Pendidikan Agama Katolik dan peserta didik. Data yang sudah terkumpul dari lapangan akan dianalisis dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan cara keabsahan data penelitian maka peneliti melakukan triangulasi baik teknik dan sumber. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model blended learning dapat meningkatkan prestasi akademik siswa dalam pembelajaran pendidikan Agama Katolik.

Abstract

This article explores the relevance and potential benefits of contemplative life in the contemporary world. It discusses the background of the contemplative tradition and its historical context, as well as its current role in modern society. The article also describes the methods used to conduct a literature review of relevant research and texts, as well as an analysis of contemporary applications of contemplation in various fields and contexts. Databases searched included JSTOR, Google Scholar, and PubMed. The results and discussion section of the article covers the key findings from the literature review and analysis, highlighting both the potential benefits and challenges associated with the practice of contemplative techniques in the modern world. The conclusion of this article suggests that while the contemplative life may face challenges in contemporary society, it remains a relevant and beneficial practice for individuals seeking personal growth, spiritual development, and enhanced well-being.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis peran Dewan Pastoral Stasi dalam memfasilitasi pertumbuhan iman Orang Muda Katolik (OMK) di Stasi Hati Tak Bernoda Bunda Maria Tri Sakti Paroki Santo Yohanes Penginjil Mandala. Dalam konteks pastoral, Dewan Pastoral Stasi memiliki tanggung jawab besar sebagai gembala yang membimbing dan mendampingi umat terkhusus OMK dalam berbagai aspek kehidupan beriman. Studi ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode wawancara mendalam dan observasi partisipatif untuk menggali peran dan kontribusi nyata Dewan Pastoral Stasi terhadap pertumbuhan iman OMK. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Dewan Pastoral Stasi berperan penting dalam menyediakan program pendampingan rohani, pelatihan, dan kegiatan liturgi yang terstruktur dan sesuai dengan kebutuhan generasi muda. Selain itu, dukungan moral dan emosional yang diberikan oleh Dewan Pastoral Stasi terbukti efektif dalam memperkuat komitmen iman dan keterlibatan aktif OMK dalam kehidupan gereja. Temuan ini menekankan pentingnya peran Dewan Pastoral Stasi dalam menumbuhkan iman OMK yang dinamis dan berdaya guna.

Abstract

Teenagers should seek parental assistance because adolescence is a time of transition from childhood to adulthood and is frequently characterized by the emergence of issues. However, for teenagers living in dormitories, things are different. For this reason, self-compassion is crucial when addressing the mental health issues of young people living in dormitories. The purpose of this study is to examine how self-compassion affects the mental health of adolescents who live in dormitories. This study's methodology blends qualitative and quantitative methods, with 43 participants between the ages of 12 and 18. The Kabanjahe Dormitory in the Karo Regency of North Sumatra served as the site of this study. Research data was gathered through the distribution of questionnaires, in-depth interviews, and observational studies. Multiple linear regression is used in quantitative data analysis, while reduction, presentation, and conclusion-making are the processes used in qualitative data analysis. The study's findings indicate that teens living in dorms have a 21.9% better mental health when they practice self-compassion. Other factors such as parental style, environment, degree of self-disclosure, and education impact the remaining 78.1%. Adolescents living in dorms may be susceptible to mental health issues due to various factors, including exposure to pornographic media, a family history of domestic violence, and inadequate parenting.

Abstract

This community service initiative seeks to improve digital literacy among young individuals by providing training in website content creation in Samura Village, Kabanjahe Subdistrict, Karo Regency.  Preliminary findings indicated that local teenagers exhibited a constrained capacity for critically evaluating digital information and ethically generating contextual material.  A participatory workshop was organised to tackle this issue, incorporating interactive lectures, group discussions, practical writing exercises, and digital distribution through blog platforms.  The engagement included 20 participants aged 18 to 23 and utilised the Seven Pillars of Information Literacy as the educational framework.  The evaluation results demonstrate a considerable enhancement in participants' comprehension of digital material, their capacity to generate informative local content, and their enthusiasm for establishing a sustainable literacy community.  The program documentation validated participants' enthusiasm and the initiative's pertinence to the village community's requirements.  Consequently, the program demonstrated efficacy in cultivating critical thinking abilities and digital literacy at the grassroots level

Abstract

This research analyzes how Orang Muda Katolik (OMK) engages in environmental preservation as an expression of their faith, guided by the spirituality of Laudato Si'. Through a literature review, it examines OMK's environmental actions and their spiritual motivations, revealing their involvement in clean-up campaigns, reforestation, and environmental education as practical applications of Laudato Si' teachings. These teachings cultivate a sustainable and responsible mindset, integrating ecological action with their faith vocation. The study identifies challenges like limited resources and community support, alongside opportunities for Laudato Si' based formation programs and collaborations with various organizations. Ultimately, this research aims to increase OMK's environmental awareness and participation, contributing to environmental sustainability and quality of life, while providing academic insights into the practical implementation of Laudato Si' within the OMK community.

Abstract

The social competence of Catholic Religious Education teachers has an influence on education because teachers as part of the community are expected to be able to establish good relations with students, colleagues, and the community. This study was conducted to analyze how the role of social competence of Catholic religious education teachers to the motivation of learning students in grade VIII A Private Junior High School Santo Xaverius 2 Kabanjahe with informants as many as 19 people consisting of: Catholic Religious Education Teachers, peers, learners and parents. This study uses a qualitative approach. The results showed that 1) behaving and acting objectively; objective teachers in assessing learning outcomes; act wisely and justly; motivators, facilitators and get along with students. 2) adapt to the environment; can respect; establish intimate relationships full of kinship and eliminate personal interests. 3) communicate effectively; have knowledge of customs both social and religious; and communicate with the local community. 4) empathetic and polite; have an image in the community, care, and manners. 5) Diligent in learning, learners are independent in doing tasks, responsible, have a passion in doing tasks and completing them on time. 6) The existence of awards in learning, getting praise, spirit, and motivation from catholic religious education teachers, 7) The existence of interesting activities in learning, able to answer questions well, complete simulations, and daily exams well, and 8) The existence of a conducive learning environment, having a clean classroom, comfortable, calm atmosphere and complete facilities.

Abstract

The present study aims to analyse the effectiveness of children's faith formation in Stasi Santo Yakobus Sukadono, Paroki Santo Padre Pio Helvetia, by using the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) evaluation model. The present research employs a qualitative approach, utilising triangulation techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation. The context component underscores the congruence between the program's objectives and the Church's vision, while also addressing the needs of the local community. The input aspect of the evaluation process encompasses the quality of the coaching staff, the availability of facilities and infrastructure, as well as the involvement of parents and dewan pastoral stasi. The process component focuses on the consistency of implementation and the methods used, including participatory approaches and liturgical activities. The product aspect of the programme has been found to engender an enhancement in spirituality, moral character, and active involvement of children in church life. The results indicate that the programme of faith formation has been effective, is pertinent to the contemporary context, and exerts a significant influence on the development of children's faith. Nevertheless, there is a necessity for the enhancement of coaching education, the more effective utilisation of digital media, and a deeperening of the collaboration between the Church and the family. It is anticipated that these findings will serve as a valuable contribution to the development of contextual and holistic faith education within the Catholic Church.

Abstract

Indonesia continues to face significant educational challenges, particularly in terms of instructional quality, curriculum relevance, and pedagogical approaches that often fall short in promoting the holistic development of student. This paper critically examines the potential of Don Bosco’s educational philosophy as a constructive response to these issues within the context of Catholic schools in Indonesia. Using a literature review method, the study explores the core principles of Don Bosco’s Preventive System, reason, religion, and loving-kindness, and their applicability to contemporary educational concerns. The findings reveal that Don Bosco’s approach provides a holistic educational framework that integrates academic excellence with moral and spiritual formation. The Preventive System creates a nurturing environment grounded in trust, presence, and personal responsibility. It emphasizes emotional intelligence, relational pedagogy, and a strong educator-student relationship, aligning with the values of Christian personalism, which upholds the dignity and integral development of each learner. Specifically, Don Bosco’s approach offers practical solutions to current challenges in Catholic schools in Indonesia by: (1) fostering a school culture of accompaniment rather than authoritarian discipline, which helps prevent behavioral problems; (2) promoting a values-based curriculum that forms conscience and character; (3) encouraging active and compassionate teacher involvement, which counteracts disengaged teaching practices; and (4) supporting a faith-centered education that is responsive to local cultural and spiritual needs. The study concludes that the implementation of Don Bosco’s Preventive System in Catholic education offers a strategic and sustainable solution for improving both character and intellectual development, while also renewing the Catholic identity and mission of schools in Indonesia.

Abstract

The Sacrament of Penance, according to the teachings of the Catholic Church, is a means of forgiveness of sins and restoration of a personal relationship with God. Through this sacrament, God forgives man's sins and restores his relationship with Himself. The purpose of the sacrament is not only to absolve the recipient from sin, but also to encourage them to make a strong commitment to refrain from sin in the future. The principal objective of this study is to ascertain the comprehension of Catholics regarding the sacrament of penance and Catholics' participation in receiving the Sacrament. This research focuses on the parishioners of Santo Paulus Pulo Brayan Bengkel Medan. This research employs a qualitative methodology. Data were gathered through observation of the reception of the sacrament of penance, interviews with informants to ascertain their understanding and practice of receiving the sacrament of penance, and the examination of relevant documentation. This was followed by data analysis, data reduction, data presentation, source triangulation and technique triangulation. The research reveals that Catholics have poor understanding of the sacrament of penance. The groups that are more eager to receive the Sacrament of Penance are the groups of mothers, the elderly and children. We classify these findings into the following categories: Firstly, people's understanding of the sacrament of Penance is minimal, which affects their participation in receiving the sacrament. Secondly, the implementation aspect includes both the preparation and the execution phases. The research shows that most people are not adequately prepared for confession and are not ready for its execution. This fact shows the need to educate and motivate people through catechesis so that they have a correct understanding of the importance of the sacrament of Penance.
