Abstract

The case of radicalism in Indonesia is considered unknown until now. The existence of cases of radicalism in Indonesia is very worrying and deserves our collective attention. A way to prevent radicalism can be done through the concept of religious moderation. Religious moderation is a concept for preventing acts of radicalism in Indonesia. Religious moderation is a straight attitude that puts forward proportional values as a role of thinking. The distinction between this research and previous studies is the position of the concept of religious moderation associated with the interpretation of the Qur’an as an implication for the prevention of radicalism in Indonesia meanwhile previous studies only focused on researching the concept of religious moderation about social attitudes of the community and not associated with the interpretation of the Qur’an. This research becomes urgent on how the concept of religious moderation in the Qur’an and its implications for the prevention of radicalism in Indonesia. This research uses a library research method, with relevant sources such as books, journals, theses, and dissertations. The results of this research include intergroup disputes that can be used by certain groups to incite violence, this appears as a cultural product of radicalism in Indonesia. An analysis of the concept of religious moderation in the Qur’an has been identified as a solution to deal with radicalism in Indonesia. This explanation directs each individual to develop an attitude of tolerance, and acceptance of traditions fairly, as well as increasing national commitment, which does not require extremism.

Abstract

This study aims to analyzes the nature of showing the practice of charity in QS. al-Baqarah [2]: 271 from the perspective of tafsir al-Qurtubi. The discussion of alms is inseparable from the process of showing the practice, while tafsir al-Qurtubi draws into an important pattern of analysis of Islamic law. This research uses library research method, with relevant data sources such as books, journals, theses, theses, dissertations, and so on. This study provides results that in the perspective of al-Qurtubi's interpretation, the interpretation of QS. al-Baqarah [2]: 271 is interpretatively opened by al-Qurtubi with the agreement of the jumhur regarding the law of charity is sunnah. Based on the main context of the text, two things can be concluded. First, the meaning behind showing the practice of charity in the obligatory category is an effort to expect His pleasure. Second, the meaning behind displaying charitable deeds in the sunnah category is to be pure from riya' behavior.

Abstract

Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini untuk merespon sistem pendidikan yang diterapkan kepada santri dengan masalah kurangnya melakukan penguasaan materi dan praktik pengetahuan akidah akhlak dengan baik, alih-alih santri dikeluhkan kurang responsif dan hanya menekankan pembelajaran model hafalan saja. Metode yang digunakan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini terdiri observasi lapangan (wawancara, dialog partisipatif, dan survey lokasi), pelaksanaan, dan monitoring serta evaluasi. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan di TPQ Sayyidah Fathimah Kediri pada tanggal 30 Agustus 2025 – 6 September 2025. Hasil pelaksanaan menunjukkan santri TPQ Sayyidah Fathimah Kediri cukup adaptif dengan pembelajaran model pendidikan progresif, sehingga kegiatan ini lebih mengarah kepada implikasi internal. Dari segi teknis, yang berkaitan produk fisik, pendidikan progresif mengharuskan menciptakan fasilitator dengan menyediakan alat tulis menulis dan ruang pengembangan diri berupa soal ujian untuk melihat kualitas pengetahuan yang diajarkan kepada TPQ Sayyidah Fathimah Kediri. Dari segi capaian materi pengetahuan, representasi tingkat sikap responsif santri TPQ Sayyidah Fathimah Kediri sangat baik sekali dengan adaptasi mereka terhadap pembelajaran model pendidikan progresif. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan prosentase angka nilai ujian akidah akhlak banyak di atas rata-rata, yang mencakup materi teori pemahaman dan ketajaman aktualisasi dari sikap aplikatif sehari-hari.

Abstract

Abstract This research discusses Jabariyah and Qadariyah thoughts in the qaḍā' and qadar discourse. The skewed implications of the concepts of qaḍā' and qadar from the Jabariyah and Qadariyah discourses are a problem in this research. The difference with previous studies is that it places more emphasis on discourses of thought that develop epistemologically. This research method is library research using a descriptive analysis approach. The findings of this research show that Jabariyah thinking in matters of qaḍā' and qadar leads to placing humans bound by the will of Allah. Qadariyah thinking in matters of qaḍā' and qadar leads to placing humans separately from the will of Allah. The synthesis of Jabariyah thought discourse as thesis and Qadariyah thought as the antithesis is Allah determines human destiny from the very beginning, but humans also have a role in making it happen through effort. The recommendation on the findings of this study has implications for subsequent studies, namely not only analyzing the conceptual aspects of a problem, but emphasizing the analysis of applicable ideas to address the problem comprehensively. Abstract

This research addresses the contemporary global conflict surrounding transformations in social life through the lens of Critical Theory. The urgency of analyzing the thoughts of Herbert Marcuse and Jürgen Habermas lies in their critical engagement with the rational foundations of the modern social system. This study aims to conduct a comparative analysis of Marcuse’s and Habermas’s contributions to Critical Theory. The material object of this study is Critical Theory in social science, while the formal object focuses on the specific theories developed by Marcuse and Habermas. Employing a library research method and a comparative approach. Data processing in this study uses descriptive analysis, which means describing the data sources of Marcuse and Habermas’ Critical Theory, then analyzing the descriptive data sources from both Critical Theory thinkers. Marcuse’s key concept is the “one-dimensional man,” reflecting a critique of advanced industrial society, whereas Habermas introduces “communicative action” as a foundation for rational discourse in democratic societies. The differences in these concepts are shaped by their distinct philosophical and socio-historical contexts. The study concludes that Marcuse’s and Habermas’s theories represent a dialectical tension: Marcuse as a thesis with a monolithic representation of modern rationality (instrumental rationality that is adaptive with control, efficiency, and domination), Habermas as an antithesis with a typological representation of instrumental rationality and communicative rationality. Habermas does not reject instrumental rationality, but limits it only to non-human objects. When applied to humans, instrumental rationality causes social pathology. Their synthesis lies in recognizing the role of identity and intersubjective recognition in fostering communicative action. This study implies that the Islamic context in Marcuse and Habermas’ discourse leads to conceptual prospects for social cohesion and justice.
