Abstract

This research aims to analyze the lexical and connotative meanings in Indonesian, with a focus on the use of words in the pantun by Dr. Tenas Effendy. In this research, lexical meaning analysis was carried out using qualitative descriptive methods, with data collection techniques in the form of expansion techniques carried out by expanding the lingual units in question using certain elements. The expansion technique is useful for determining the meaning aspect (semantic aspect) of certain lingual units. The research results show that Dr. Tenas Effendy contains lexical meanings related to concepts such as advice, tradition and life. This lexical meaning is found through analysis of the meaning of the text and the meaning of the pantun context. The meaning of the context in question is in the form of symbolic meaning, namely the meaning contained outside the text and related to the context of the event when the pantun is sung. The conclusion of this research is that Dr. Tenas Effendy has a lexical meaning related to concepts related to life and tradition, as well as a connotative meaning related to symbolism and the context of the event.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the relationship between language and society through a sociolinguistic perspective, focusing on language variations that are influenced by social factors such as class, gender, ethnicity and age. Using the literature review method, this research analyzes various previous studies that discuss language variations, dialects, social identities, and the role of bilingualism in multicultural societies. The research results show that language not only functions as a means of communication, but also as a reflection of social identity, culture and power. Variations in language use, whether in the form of dialect, style, or register, reflect social stratification and power relations in society. In addition, the phenomena of bilingualism and language shift highlight the dynamics of interactions between national languages and regional languages, with potential threats to the survival of regional languages. This research concludes that a deep understanding of language variation is important for preserving linguistic and cultural richness. The limitations of the literature review method underscore the need for further research to enrich sociolinguistic studies.

Abstract

The implementation of inclusive education in Indonesia aims to provide educational facilities and services for children with special needs (ABK). Inclusive education has been implemented in various schools, especially in big cities, but still faces various challenges in its implementation. This study aims to describe the problems faced by schools that provide inclusive education in North Sumatra and their resolution efforts. The objects in this study include public schools and special schools that integrate inclusive education. This study uses a qualitative approach, with data collection techniques through interviews, observations, and documentation. The data obtained are explained through the process of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Various problems arise, ranging from the lack of number and competence of special guidance teachers (GPK), difficulties for students in following lessons, lack of school readiness to run inclusive programs, to limited facilities and infrastructure that do not support the needs of children with special needs (ABK). In addition, low cooperation between schools, education offices, and parents is also an obstacle to the implementation of effective inclusive education.

Abstract

Adaptive approach is an intervention strategy that places the unique needs of each child with mild autism as the center of attention, so that learning and therapy methods are flexibly adjusted to individual characteristics and abilities. This literature review examines how adaptive approach can increase the independence of children with mild autism through the active role of parents and the implementation of structured daily activities. Parents act as the main partners in the learning process, not only providing emotional support, but also becoming facilitators who help children apply the skills learned at school into everyday life at home. Structured daily activities provide clear and consistent routines, helping children understand and anticipate activities, thereby reducing anxiety and increasing focus in carrying out tasks. Stimulus-response techniques are an effective method in developing children's adaptive behavior, with positive reinforcement that motivates children to continue learning and repeating independent behavior. Close collaboration between teachers, therapists, and parents creates an adaptive and consistent learning environment, which allows children to develop independence gradually and sustainably. This study confirms that holistic interventions involving full support from parents and the implementation of structured daily activities are the keys to success in increasing the independence of children with mild autism.
