Abstract

This research is a qualitative descriptive study aimed at obtaining data on the level of errorsin the use of adverbs 再 (zài) and 又 (yòu) in Mandarin for Grade VIII students of SMPFrater Makassar. The population in this study were students of class VIII SMP FraterMakassar with a total of 27 students as well as research samples using the total sampletechnique. The research data was obtained by giving an error test using the adverbs 再 (zài)and 又 (yòu) consisting of True False, Filling, and Essay questions. The results showed thatthere were 124 errors in using the adverb 再 (zài) with 46.62% belonging to the less categoryand 142 errors in using the adverb 又 (yòu) with 53.38% belonging to the less category.Total errors There are 266 errors in the use of adverbs 再 (zài) and 又 (yòu).Keyword: Adverbs errors analysis 再 (zài) and 又 (yòu)

Abstract

Intercultural communication (cross cultural communication) is increasingly important in multinational companies in China because of the increasing number of foreign employees working there. This research aims to analyze the intercultural communication challenges that arise in Chinese companies and how to overcome them. The research was conducted through in-depth interviews with 15 foreign employees and 15 Chinese employees who worked in 5 Chinese multinational companies from various industries. The research results show that differences in communication styles, social norms and cultural values often lead to misunderstandings and conflicts between Chinese and foreign employees.Foreign employees often feel Chinese employees are too direct, not open enough and self-centered, while Chinese employees feel foreign employees are too blunt and disrespectful to superiors. Misunderstandings also often occur regarding decision making and problem solving. It is recommended that companies organize cross-cultural training, encourage open communication between departments and a culture of mutual respect to overcome these challenges. Intercultural communication skills need to be trained to all employees so that cooperation and productivity increase.  Keyword: Cross Culture, Communication, Chinese Company

Abstract

One of the characteristics of modern Islamic boarding schools is that the language usedby the elements of modern Islamic boarding schools mostly uses Arabic and English asan effort to answer the challenges of the times so that students become individual learnerswho are also able to guide the community by using various languages effectively andappropriately. Each student has a personality type, either introvert or extrovert, whichcan support or even hinder the success of learning. The ability of modern Islamic boardingschools and students to recognize and use personality types in learning is a reference foreach element to continue to innovate sustainability related to the right methods andapproaches according to the personality type of students in modern Islamic boardingschools.Keywords: Personality, Learners, Language Learning Strategies

Abstract

This research is experimental research (quasi experimental), which has 2 variables, namely power point media as the independent variable, namely writing 汉 字 hanzi as the dependent variable. The population of this study was 209 class VIII students at private junior high schools in Makassar. The sample used random sampling in this study was class VIII A students at private junior high schools in Makassar, totaling 20 students as the control class and class VIII B students at private junior high schools in Makassar. , totaling 20 students as an experimental class. This research data was obtained through a hanzi writing test and analyzed using the T test. H1: The use of power point media is effective in the hanzi writing skills of class VIII students at private junior high schools in Makassar, accepted. H0: The use of power point media is not effective in the Hanzi 汉字 writing skills of class VIII private junior high school students in Makassar, rejected. The results of this study show that tcount is greater than ttable (13.47> 2.03) with a significance level of 0.05. This means that the use of PowerPoint slide media is effective in writing 汉字hanzi for class VIII students at private junior high schools in Makassar. Keywords : Effectiveness, Power Point Media, Writing skill, Hanzi.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini ditujukan untuk meningkatkan partisipasi elemen masyarakat, khususnya mahasiswa jurusan hospitaliti, program studi manajemen divisi kamar dalam peningkatan kualitas diri di bidang Pendidikan. Dimana pendidikan yang dimaksudkan adalah pendidikan peningkatan bahasa Mandarin hospitaliti. Keterampilan berbahasa Mandarin akan menjadi modal tambahan yang sangat berarti bagi para mahasiswa program studi manajemen divisi kamar dalam mengisi kehidupan mereka di masa yang akan datang. Keterampilan ini akan menjadi investasi besar bagi para mahasiswa program studi divisi kamar dalam menghadapi tahun terbuka yang semakin canggih yang menuntut kita untuk terus berkembang dan pentingnya menguasai bahasa Internasional yaitu Bahasa Mandarin. Kegiatan ini sangat bermanfaat dan tepat guna yang langsung dapat dirasakan oleh para mahasiswa program studi manajemen divisi sebagai keterampilan tambahan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi kesalahan penulisan urutan guratan Hanzi pada siswa kelas X SMK Penerbangan Hasanuddin Makassar. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X SMK Penerbangan Hasanuddin Makassar dengan jumlah 16 siswa sekaligus sebagai sampel dalam penelitian. Teknik pengambilan data menggunakan tes menulis aksara Mandarin dan penyebaran angket. Hasil analisis data ditemukan kesalahan aksara Mandarin 5 guratan sebanyak 32 atau 21,76%, Hanzi dengan 7 guratan sebanyak 48 atau 32,62%. Pada Hanzi dengan 9 guratan ditemukan sebanyak 67 kesalahan atau 45,57%. Sedangkan faktor yang memengaruhi kemampuan siswa dalam penulisan guratan Hanzi yaitu kesulitan mengingat guratan (bihua) Hanzi dan urutan guratan (bishun) Hanzi.  Kata Kunci: Bahasa Mandarin, urutan guratan, Hanzi

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the needs for basic Mandarin language learning at Frater Junior High School Makassar, as a reference to determine whether this activity should be continued, as well as to aid in the development of teaching materials and syllabus creation. This research identifies the challenges in learning Mandarin after participating in Mandarin language classes, the benefits of learning Mandarin, the sustainability of the basic Mandarin training program, and the need for basic Mandarin language learning based on the four fundamental language skills.The research uses a descriptive analysis method with a quantitative approach. Data was collected through the distribution of questionnaires to 15 respondents, including students from Frater Junior High School Makassar, teachers, and parents. Analysis of the questionnaire data shows that 53.3% of respondents are interested in learning Mandarin by increasing the number of hours of study and changing the theme of the material, as they feel they already understand the current themes provided. Regarding the introduction and writing of Hanzi, they experience difficulty, with 93.3% of participants reporting that they find it hard to learn Hanzi.The analysis of the basic Mandarin language learning needs concludes that students require Mandarin to understand simple conversations and vocabulary. Keyword: Needs analysis, Mandarin, Learning

Abstract

The increasing global influence of China and its economic rise have made Mandarin Chinese a valuable skill for international communication and job opportunities, especially in countries like Indonesia that maintain close economic ties with China. The research aims to understand the dominant types of motivation and to identify common obstacles students encounter in acquiring the language. A mixed-method approach was used, combining quantitative descriptive methods through questionnaires distributed to 69 first- and second-year students, and qualitative methods through interviews with 10 students. The findings reveal that most students are instrumentally motivated, driven by the desire for better employment prospects and educational advancement, rather than integrative factors such as cultural interest or native-like fluency. Major learning difficulties include pronunciation (particularly tones and retroflex consonants), grammar, and the memorization and writing of Chinese characters (hanzi), largely due to interference from the Indonesian language and limited exposure to Mandarin in their environment. Despite these challenges, students exhibit a generally positive learning attitude, especially in classroom participation. This study concludes that greater support in pronunciation, grammar instruction, and character acquisition is necessary, and suggests that future research explore broader contexts and more advanced student groups.

Abstract

Dalam era globalisasi, pembelajaran bahasa asing, terutama penguasaan bahasa Mandarin, menjadi semakin penting, dan kekurangan kosakata dapat membatasi perkembangan kemampuan bahasa. Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi pengaruh penggunaan media Wordwall terhadap penguasaan kosakata bahasa Mandarin siswa kelas tujuh di SMP Budi Kasih Makassar. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan desain eksperimen pretest-posttest, dengan 33 siswa yang berpartisipasi. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa setelah menggunakan Wordwall, penguasaan kosakata siswa meningkat secara signifikan, dengan nilai rata-rata pre-test sebesar 69 dan post-test sebesar 79,61, dengan nilai t hitung sebesar 9,178 pada tingkat signifikansi 0,05. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa Wordwall dapat meningkatkan penguasaan kosakata bahasa Mandarin. Kata Kunci: Penguasaan Kosakata, Media Wordwall, Pembelajaran Bahasa Mandarin.

Abstract

Language is inseparable from sociocultural influences because the use of language is a reality of communication that occurs within social interactions. This article uses the systematic literature review method, which involves an in-depth study and references from articles, books, and research journals. The purpose of this study is to explore Mandarin language learning from a sociocultural perspective. Language and culture, when viewed in balance, are considered significant in foreign language teaching. The success of communication between two communicators from different cultural backgrounds does not rely solely on mastery of linguistic aspects, including grammar and sociopragmatic structures, but also on the ability to perceive, understand, and empathize with the culture of the communication partner. This highlights the harmony that should exist between foreign language and culture learning and one’s own language and culture.Keyword: Learning, Mandarin language, Sociocultural aspects.
