Abstract

In both Eastern and Western societies, proficiency in the local language and an understanding of cultural nuances were traditionally considered essential prerequisites for employment. However, a marked deviation from this norm was evident in the Gulf states, where communication with foreign workers became sporadic and, in many cases, was limited to specific roles or enforced through punitive measures. This linguistic neglect perpetuated the erosion of Arab heritage, contributing to the gradual loss of identity. This research aimed to thoroughly analyze the importance of foreign workers in the Gulf countries mastering Arabic. It investigated the impact of neglecting this linguistic aspect and proposed viable solutions to encourage learning, thus contributing to the preservation and enhancement of cultural values, identity, and society in the Gulf region. Using a literature study methodology, the research drew on a variety of sources, including previous research, newspapers, expert studies, and reports. The findings of this research underscored the need for collaborative efforts among countries in the region, drawing inspiration from experiences in the East and West. An important solution identified was activating the principle of shared responsibility, which included the establishment of training centers for expatriates to acquire essential Arabic vocabulary. The implications of this research extended to the establishment of stronger communication links within the country, the creation of international bridges, and the opening of employment opportunities for Arabic language and literature experts.

The current state of the character development among the nation's youth is facing challenges, including issues such as juvenile delinquency and bullying. These problems are particularly prevalent among adolescents in middle school and above. Therefore, there is a need for attention from educational practitioners to address and actively engage in improving this situation, including those studying Arabic. Among the various efforts to instill character in Arabic language learning is the development of character-based Arabic language teaching materials. This research aims to address these issues by developing a module as a relevant instructional material capable of accommodating the cultivation of character values while supporting Arabic language learning. The method employed in this research is the research and development approach using the ADDIE model, consisting of four stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The results of this research indicate that the developed module falls into the category of highly valid, with expert material validation scoring 3.803 and media expert validation scoring 4.65, both criteria being considered excellent and worthy of continuation. Students' responses to the Arabic language learning module yielded an average score of 4.148, indicating a very good and engaging criteria

Abstract

Arabic as a foreign language in its learning often encounters problems. For example, in the aspect of listening skills. To solve these problems, concrete efforts are needed through the development of learning tools or media that can support this difficult Arabic language learning process. This research belongs to the type of Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model with 5 stages, namely the process to analyze, design products, develop products, test processes, and development evaluation processes.  The result of the research is the presence of a learning media product for android-based Arabic language in learning listening skills that can be operated on smartphones for students in grade VIII SMP / MTs. This product has a qualified level of feasibility to be used in learning activities with the results of the feasibility test of 2 types of validation. Namely validation with material expert validators and media expert validators by obtaining an average percentage value of 95% by material experts 95.55% by media experts or in "very feasible" criteria. The results of the assessment of students' responses through the medium group trial obtained 85.57% "very interesting", the large group obtained an assessment of 85.16% with the criteria "very interesting". So the results obtained that the product developed in the study in the form of learning media for listening skills with an android base for students in grade VIII SMP/MTs is very feasible and can be utilized in facilitating Arabic teaching and learning activities, especially aspects of listening skills.

Abstract

The issue of gender inequality in the agricultural sector continues to be a concern, especially in transmigration areas that have unique socio-economic and cultural characteristics. This research examines the gender dynamics experienced by women in the agricultural sector in transmigration areas of Lampung Province, with a focus on the forms of structural injustice that are still ongoing. The main objective of this research is to identify and analyse the practices of labelling, marginalization, subordination, violence and double burden experienced by women, and to explore their social implications in the context of regional development. This research uses a library research approach by analyzing various relevant literature sources, such as books, journals, research reports, and policy documents related to gender and transmigration. The results show that transmigrant women experience injustice in various interrelated forms, ranging from stereotyping of domestic roles to limited access to wages and decision-making. The implications of these findings point to the importance of more responsive gender-based policies and the need for integrated women's empowerment interventions. This research contributes to the literature on gender and agriculture, and opens space for further research with a wider range of areas and approaches.
