Abstract

This study investigates the impact of the critical-collaborative learning model (CCLM), which integrates socioscientific issues within a problem-based learning framework, on enhancing the critical thinking skills (CTS) of pre-service physics teachers. A quasi-experimental design with non-equivalent control groups was employed, with 26 students in the experimental group and 27 students in the control group. The experimental group, which engaged in project-based learning activities centered on real-world issues such as climate change and energy crises, demonstrated significant improvements in CTS, as measured by the Rasch model. The pretest mean logit for the experimental group was 125.25 (SD = 72.24), and after the intervention, the posttest mean logit was 77.69 (SD = 3.87), showing a significant improvement with a gain of -47.56. In contrast, the control group showed a smaller change, with a pretest mean logit of 66.92 (SD = 45.28) and a posttest mean logit of 50.23 (SD = 80.57), resulting in a smaller gain of -16.68. The findings suggest that incorporating collaborative and socioscientific elements into the learning process fosters deeper engagement and higher-order thinking. This study contributes to the body of research supporting constructivist-based and collaborative learning approaches, offering valuable insights into their application in science education. Further investigation into the long-term effects of such models across diverse educational contexts is recommended

Abstract

The digital literacy curriculum in universities, especially Islamic universities, needs to be developed intensively to respond to the rapid exposure of hoax news among students. Therefore, this study aims to develop an e-module for digital learning and to investigate how this product can be implemented in a digital literacy curriculum model at Islamic universities. The Rasch measurement was used to assess fit validity and reliability criteria based on validator assessment and student responses. Many Facet Rasch Measurement was used to confirm validity and reliability from 4 different validators based on e-module development in phase 1 and phase 2 using 10-item criteria. A rating scale analysis was used to check validity and reliability according to 233 student responses and item category interactions. The e-module achieved fit validity and reliability. The e-module implementation showed students gave higher responses, 55% (agree) and 39% (strongly agree), if the e-module can help them with digital literacy for understanding hoax information. The bias interaction and the differential item functioning have been discussed in this study. The findings will provide initial knowledge in the development and implementation of e-modules for preventing hoaxes and will improve students' understanding of filtering information in the digital literacy curriculum.

Abstract

The current development of education demands students to compete globally with modern technological knowledge. This research aims to develop a science e-module with the STEM approach embedded with religious values for students of madrasas, pesantren, and integrated Islamic schools. The research method used is research and development with the ADDIE model. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires, which were then analyzed using qualitative and quantitative approaches. The results of the material expert validation reached 93% (excellent), and media expert validation reached 92% (excellent). This e-module is considered practical with a practicality test result by educators of 81% (excellent) and attractive according to users with a test score of 80% (very attractive). This module integrates religious values within the science material using the STEM approach to stimulate students and support science learning in the context of Islamic education. This research has implications for developing technology-based learning materials in Islamic educational institutions.

Abstract

Classical Arabic poetry plays an essential role in preserving cultural identity and religious values, with Hassan bin Tsabit recognized as one of the foremost poets of the early Islamic period whose works encapsulate spiritual devotion and socio-historical experience. This study aimed to analyze the poem Al-Fida’ by Hassan bin Tsabit through the lens of Wilhelm Dilthey’s hermeneutics, focusing on the triadic concepts of Erlebnis (lived experience), Ausdruck (expression), and Verstehen (understanding). Employing a qualitative descriptive design, data were collected through library research using the critical edition of Hassan’s Diwan alongside supporting secondary sources, and analyzed by systematically classifying figurative language, symbolic expressions, and contextual references. The results show that the poem reflects the poet’s personal piety and collective consciousness, articulated through symbolic imagery and emotive language that merge individual faith with communal identity. The discussion indicates that Dilthey’s hermeneutic framework provides a structured means of interpreting classical Arabic poetry not merely as aesthetic expression but also as cultural testimony embedded in historical and religious contexts. The implication of this study is that hermeneutic analysis enriches literary scholarship by offering both theoretical insights into interpretive methodologies and practical contributions for integrating classical poetry into modern education and cultural studies.
