Abstract

Local wisdom is integral to a community's cultural identity, encapsulating knowledge, values, and practices passed down through generations. The traditional game of Patil Lele, rich in cultural significance, also serves as a valuable educational tool for exploring fundamental physics concepts. This study aims to analyze the physics principles inherent in the Patil Lele game and identify optimal techniques for achieving maximum throwing distance. The research used a quantitative descriptive method; Data were collected through interviews and observations and supported by a thorough literature review. The findings reveal that the game embodies key physics concepts, including parabolic motion, Newton's laws, the moment of force, momentum, and impulse. Moreover, three effective techniques for enhancing throwing distance were identified. This research underscores the importance of applying physics concepts to enhance traditional games, enriching educational value and preserving cultural heritage.

Abstract

Revolution 4.0 is marked by the era of digitalization, namely by the rapid development of science and technology. Technology in the industrial era 4.0 caused the human role to be shifted. This causes changes in how to work and relate to one another. In the digital era, the education system is expected to realize that students have skills capable of critical thinking and problem solving, creative and innovative skills, communication and collaboration skills, and skilled use of information and technology. Therefore, the purpose of this article is to determine the effectiveness of the independent learning curriculum in implementing the learning process and the constraints and solutions that can be provided in implementing the independent learning curriculum in the learning process. The research method used is the method of literature study and qualitative research. The results obtained from the research that has been carried out are the application of the “Merdeka” curriculum, the effectiveness of the “Merdeka” curriculum, the advantages of implementing an “Merdeka” curriculum, and the constraints of implementing an “Merdeka” curriculum. Implementing the independent learning curriculum is more straightforward than the 2013 one. The effectiveness of the 2013 curriculum is quite good and beneficial in terms of students who are free to choose according to their interests and talents and teachers who only need to explain some of the material's content. Of course, in implementing this “Merdeka” curriculum, there are obstacles, such as various media.

Abstract

21st century education faces a major challenge in preparing students to deal with global change. Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) plays an important role in equipping students with the attitudes, skills and knowledge to make sustainable decisions. This article analyzes the application of innovative ESD-based learning models in various disciplines to improve learners' skills. Using the literature study method, the analysis was conducted based on 30 journal articles published in the 2019-2024 period. The results show that the application of ESD-based learning models has a positive impact in improving learners' skills. The most frequently used learning model is Problem Based Learning (PBL), with the most integrated material is Physics, especially the topic of Effort and Energy. The most commonly measured skill is sustainability awareness, which also helps students to be more aware of global sustainability issues. Thus, the integration of ESD in the curriculum can prepare students to face future challenges more effectively, shaping them into individuals who are critical and concerned about the environment and can find sustainable solutions.
