Abstract

This study aims to determine the catalytic effect of ZnO on the kinetics of the decomposition reaction of burning solid waste. ZnO catalyst was chosen because it has high mobility and reactivity. samples were prepared and randomly selected consisting of 12 types of inorganic waste and 10 types of organic waste. The research instrument uses (DTA) Differential Thermal Analysis proximate testing. From this test the data in the form of a mass decrease graph will be analyzed descriptively. The description of the data is displayed through the TG-DTG curve and the calculation of the activation energy (Ea) using the fitting model. the DTG curve identifies three peaks indicating the decomposition stages of the three components have different characteristics. The decomposed components are 1. lignocellulosic organic and low stability organic components, 2. Volatile substances from plastic components, 3. hydrocarbon residues and ash reformation. The combustion temperature increases in samples with high catalyst concentrations, but the burnout temperature decreases in samples with high catalyst concentrations. The DTA curve shows the increased reactivity of samples with high catalyst concentrations. Oxidative reactions which are exothermic/external heating increase in samples with high catalyst concentrations. The catalytic effect on the addition of zinc-oxide (ZnO) catalyst concentration to the components showed a decrease in the hydrocarbon component and an increase in the short chain hydrocarbon component. Increasing the concentration of zinc-oxide (ZnO) catalyst in the sample increases the activation energy. However, overall the addition of catalyst concentration in the combustion of organic-inorganic solid waste samples was able to reduce the activation energy at the end of the combustion reaction

Abstract

The reinforcing composition in hybrid composite can affect the material properties. Kenaf fiber (Hibiscus Cannabinus L.) can be used as a reinforcement for hybrid composites with high advantage. Calcium carbonate serves as a reinforcement for composite materials and was useful for increasing stiffness. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of variations in the composition of the addition of kenaf fiber and CaCO3 powder on the flexural strength and water absorption properties of the calcium carbonate reinforced kenaf fibers/polyester hybrid composites (PTJ/SK/CaCO3) made by hand layup method. Hybrid composites were made with various compositions of CaCO3 (0%, 2.5%, 5%, 10%, and 20% by weight). The results showed that the PTJ/SK/CaCO3 (5%wt) hybrid composite had the highest flexural strength with a value of 74.87 MPa. The increase in the amount of CaCO3 powder composition showed a decrease in the water absorption of the PTJ/SK/CaCO3 hybrid composite.

Abstract

Public consumption of bottled drinking water continues to increase. Single use plastic bottled water is still an option, this increases plastic waste. The main cause is that plastic cannot be decomposed so it has a bad impact on the environment. Plastic waste recycling has been done to reduce plastic waste but is still in low quantities. One of the recycling processes of plastic waste bottles can be utilized as composite materials. Composite consists of elements namely matrix and filler. In this study, the composite is composed of epoxy as a matrix and plastic bottle waste as a filler. The composition of the filler used ranges from 12.5%, 15%, 17.5%, 20%. The composite was made using the hand lay-up method. The composite that had been made was tested for hardness and impact to observe its mechanical properties. From the results of the research test, it was obtained that the greater the variation of the filler used, the lower the impact strength and hardness values. The highest impact strength was 1.02 J/mm2 Joule at a variation of 12.5%. The highest data results from the hardness test in this study were at a variation of 20% of 75.33 shore D.

Abstract

To reduce the use of fuel-powered motorbikes to avoid air pollution, one way is to shift the use of fuel to electrical energy. Currently, the use of electrical energy for transportation has begun to be in demand by the public, because it does not cause noise pollution, low operating costs, and lightweight vehicles. Converting a motorbike into an electric bike will solve this problem. This study uses an experimental method by comparing two settings on the controller from the default condition (Acceleration 0%; Power Limit 80%; Speed Limit 70%) to the maximum condition (Acceleration 30%; Power Limit 100%; Speed Limit 100%), which is then tested on the motor current, battery consumption, and acceleration on the converted motorbike. Based on data analysis and discussion of the study, it can be concluded that changes in the throttle curve settings on the controller can affect the amount of current, the amount of battery consumption, and acceleration on a motorbike that has been converted into an electric bike. Changing the controller settings from default conditions (Acceleration 0%; Power Limit 80%; Speed Limit 70%) to maximum conditions (Acceleration 30%; Power Limit 100%; Speed Limit 100%) is effective in increasing the speed and acceleration of converted electric vehicles. However, changing these settings will increase the current on the motor and battery consumption. In default conditions, the BLDC motor RPM is 3104 RPM (Motor current 31.8 Ampere), after further settings, the BLDC motor RPM increases to 3925 RPM (Motor current 51.4 Ampere)

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of using Jumbo, Megacools, and Hikari coolant types on the cooling effectiveness of Nissan Livina 1800cc engine. The research method used is experimental by testing the three types of coolant under the same engine operating conditions, comparing radiator effectiveness parameters based on differences in engine rotation time and RPM variations. Data collection was conducted systematically at standardized time intervals and engine rotations to obtain accurate and reliable results. The research findings indicate that Jumbo coolant type provides the highest cooling effectiveness compared to the other two coolant types. Based on the analysis of differences in engine rotation time, Jumbo coolant recorded radiator effectiveness of 0.234 at 30 seconds. The radiator effectiveness of Jumbo coolant also increased along with the increase in engine rotation, with the highest value of 0.246 recorded at 2200 RPM. Overall analysis shows that Jumbo coolant has the highest overall radiator effectiveness with an average value of 0.216. These findings indicate that the selection of coolant type significantly affects the performance of the engine cooling system, with Jumbo coolant as the optimal choice for improving cooling effectiveness in Nissan Livina 1800cc engines.

Abstract

Kegiatan pelatihan penggunaan akun penulis (ID Author) untuk pengembangan portofolio akademik dosen di lingkungan Universitas Pawyatan Daha dapat terlaksana dengan lancar dan baik. Pelatihan tersebut dilaksanakan pada tanggal 21 Maret 2023 di Ruang Rapat Universitas Pawyatan Daha mulai pukul 09.00 WIB sampai dengan 13.00 WIB. Tujuan dari pelatihan ini adalah untuk memberikan pengetahuan dan pemahaman tentang akun yang harus dimiliki oleh seorang dosen. Akun tersebut digunakan untuk menunjang produktivitas pelaksanaan Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi yang harus dilaksanakan oleh dosen pada setiap semester. Metode yang digunakan pada kegiatan ini adalah pemaparan materi, pendampingan dan praktik pembuatan akun. Hasil dari pelatihan ini adalah dosen dapat membuat akun di mana akun tersebut merupakan komponen penting dalam menunjang terlaksanannya tridharma perguruan tinggi. Pemanfaatan ID Author secara maksimal dapat mengembangkan produktivitas publikasi ilmiah bagi seorang dosen.

Abstract

Keberadaan Online Marketplace juga semakain mempermudah penjual untuk memasarkan produknya. Desa Nanggungan merupakan salah satu desa di Kecamatan Kayen Kidul, terdiri dari 5 (lima) dusun, salah satunya adalah dusun Ngandong. Desa Nanggungan memiliki banyak pelaku Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM). Salah satu produk unggulan dari Desa ini adalah Tas Anyaman Plastik. Produk ini dipasarkan secara online dan offline. Pelatihan Penentuan Harga Jual Produk pada Online Marketplace di Dusun Ngandong, Desa Nanggungan diharapkan dapat membantu penjual dalam menentukan harga jual produknya yang hendak dipasarkan di online marketplace. Pelatiahan dilakukan selama 2 hari berturut-turut. Pelaku usaha diberikan contoh perhitungan menentukan harga jual suatu produk di salah satu aplikasi online marketplace di Indonesia. Setelah itu pelaku usaha diberikan kesempatan untuk menghitung harga jual produknya masing-masing.

Abstract

Pelatihan instalasi listrik satu fasa dilaksanakan di Dusun Soko, Desa Menang, Kabupaten Kediri, Provinsi Jawa Timur sebagai upaya peningkatan keterampilan masyarakat dalam instalasi yang aman dan sesuai standar PUIL. Kegiatan ini bertujuan mendukung kewirausahaan di tengah ketatnya persaingan kerja formal. Metode meliputi survei, koordinasi dengan pemerintah desa, penyusunan modul, serta pelatihan teori dan praktik. Hasil menunjukkan 80% peserta kompeten secara praktik. Meskipun partisipasi belum mencapai target (10 dari 25 orang), respons peserta sangat positif. Pelatihan efektif sebagai bentuk pemberdayaan dan berpotensi dikembangkan sebagai usaha mikro.

Abstract

Permasalahan sampah plastik di wilayah pedesaan masih menjadi tantangan serius akibat minimnya fasilitas pemilahan dan rendahnya kesadaran masyarakat dalam pengelolaan sampah berkelanjutan. Desa Menang, Kecamatan Pagu, Kabupaten Kediri, merupakan salah satu wilayah yang belum memiliki sistem pengumpulan sampah plastik terpisah, sehingga berpotensi mencemari lingkungan dan menghambat upaya daur ulang. Guna mengatasi permasalahan tersebut, kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dilaksanakan pada 30 Agustus 2025 - 7 September 2025 dengan pendekatan partisipatif melalui empat tahapan: (1) identifikasi permasalahan melalui dialog dengan perangkat desa, (2) perancangan kotak donasi sampah plastik, (3) produksi kotak berbahan besi hollow, dan (4) penempatan kotak di lokasi strategis berdasarkan rekomendasi Kepala Desa. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa tiga unit kotak donasi berhasil dipasang di area Balai Desa, Petilasan Joyoboyo, dan Sendang Tirto Kamandanu. Dalam dua minggu pasca-penempatan, kotak mulai dimanfaatkan oleh warga dan pengunjung untuk menyetorkan sampah plastik seperti botol dan kemasan. Kegiatan ini tidak hanya menghasilkan infrastruktur fisik, tetapi juga memicu perubahan perilaku masyarakat dalam memilah sampah serta memperkuat rasa kepemilikan terhadap program lingkungan. Namun, keberlanjutan program memerlukan dukungan sistem pengelolaan lanjutan, seperti kemitraan dengan bank sampah dan pembentukan kelompok sadar lingkungan. Pengabdian ini membuktikan bahwa intervensi sederhana berbasis partisipasi dapat menjadi langkah awal efektif menuju pengelolaan sampah plastik yang berkelanjutan di tingkat desa.
