Abstract

This study aims to analyze the level of knowledge of birth attendants in assisting childbirth in accordance with applicable health standards, as well as identifying factors that influence the level of knowledge in Pancur Batu District, Deli Serdang Regency. The research method used was a descriptive survey with a quantitative approach, where data was collected through structured interviews and questionnaires given to 50 birth attendants in the area. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive and inferential statistical tests. The research results showed that the majority of birth attendants had low knowledge about health standards in assisting childbirth. Factors that influence this level of knowledge include age, education level, work experience, and access to health training. This research also found that birth attendants who have better access to information and training tend to have better knowledge of health standards. These findings indicate the need to improve training and education programs for birth attendants in Pancur Batu District, as well as strengthening collaboration between birth attendants and formal health workers to ensure that the delivery process is carried out in accordance with applicable health standards. This is expected to improve the quality of delivery services and reduce the risk of complications for mothers and babies.

Abstract

This community service project aims to raise awareness and knowledge about health among the elderly through the GERKASA-LASAKIT program (Movement for Healthy and Disease-Aware Seniors) in Dusun 1, Tanjung Anom Village, Deli Serdang Regency. This initiative is driven by the high prevalence of degenerative diseases and the lack of accurate information regarding the prevention and management of these diseases among seniors. Through comprehensive health education, it is hoped that the elderly can improve their quality of life by adopting a healthy lifestyle and gaining a better understanding of common illnesses they may face. The methods used in this project include health education sessions, practical training on early disease detection, and physical activities tailored to the physical condition of the elderly. Health education is provided by medical professionals and public health experts. Additionally, individual consultation sessions are held to offer more personalized care for each participant. The results of this activity show an increase in health knowledge and awareness among the elderly, as evidenced by high participation and enthusiasm in each session. Seniors involved in this program have also begun adopting healthier lifestyles, such as engaging in regular light exercise and having routine health check-ups. This project has successfully built a support network among the elderly, their families, and the local community, creating a more caring and health-conscious environment. Thus, the GERKASA-LASAKIT program makes a significant contribution to improving the quality of life for the elderly in Dusun 1, Tanjung Anom Village. The sustainability of this program is expected to serve as a model for other villages in efforts to enhance the welfare and health of the elderly at the local level.

Abstract

This research aims to implement a Neural Network (NN) in monitoring children's development, especially to detect developmental disorders from an early age. The data used includes variables such as Age, Height, and Weight, which have been normalized to have a uniform scale. The modeling process begins with the use of Convolutional Layers to extract important features from numerical data, which are then passed to the ReLU activation layer to introduce non-linearity to the model, enabling the detection of more complex patterns. After that, Max Pooling is carried out to reduce data dimensions and increase computing efficiency. This model was trained using 100 normalized data, and continued with the use of fully connected layers to process further information. In the output layer, a sigmoid activation function is used to generate probability predictions, allowing binary classification (whether a developmental disorder is present or not). Evaluation results show that this model has an accuracy of 85%, which indicates its effectiveness in detecting child developmental disorders based on available data. Although the results are promising, there is still room for improvement, especially in improving the model's accuracy and ability to handle more complex data. Overall, this research shows that Neural Networks can be a useful tool in the early detection of childhood developmental disorders, with potential for broad applications in the fields of children's health and education.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the factors that influence students' delays in completing final assignments using the Random Forest algorithm. The data used includes variables such as GPA, number of credits, employment status, frequency of guidance, organizational activities, and personal motivation. These variables were analyzed to determine their effect on students' ability to complete their final assignments on time. The Random Forest model is applied to predict whether students complete their final assignments on time or not. The model results show an accuracy of 63.33%, with the frequency of guidance and personal motivation being the most influential factors in completing the final assignment on time. Followed by the number of credits and GPA, which also have a significant but smaller influence. Organizational activity factors and employment status have a lower contribution to tardiness, but are still relevant in the context of student time management. Based on these results, research suggests the importance of academic guidance support and motivation management to help students overcome obstacles in completing their final assignments on time. This research, which uses the case of ITKES Ika Bina students, is expected to provide recommendations for universities in improving the academic mentoring process to support student graduation.

Abstract

Speech delay in children is a developmental issue commonly encountered in society, which can affect various aspects of a child's life, including communication, social interaction, and academic development. Early detection of speech delay is crucial for providing appropriate interventions to minimize its long-term impact on the child. This study aims to introduce the use of machine learning algorithms in detecting speech delay symptoms in children. Three machine learning algorithms applied in this study are Naïve Bayes, C4.5, and K-Nearest Neighbor (K-NN). These algorithms are used to classify speech delay symptoms based on health data, medical history, and environmental factors such as speaking habits and eating patterns. The outreach was conducted at Puskesmas Kota Rantauprapat with the involvement of parents and healthcare providers as participants. The experimental results showed that all three algorithms performed well in terms of accuracy, though with varying error rates. Naïve Bayes achieved relatively high accuracy but had a higher false positive rate compared to C4.5 and K-NN. C4.5 provided more stable results and was easier to interpret due to its decision tree structure. Meanwhile, K-NN performed better with data that had irregular distribution. This outreach is expected to assist both the community and healthcare providers in early detection of speech delay in children, providing a more efficient and affordable means for early intervention, which ultimately leads to better outcomes for children with speech delay.

Abstract

Informal workers are a group that contributes significantly to the Indonesian economy, but still have a low level of independent participation in the national health insurance program. This low participation is caused by minimal insurance literacy, income instability, and a lack of awareness of the importance of health protection. This activity aims to empower informal workers to have the ability and willingness to become independent participants in health insurance. The method used is a community-based participatory approach through three main stages: education on the benefits of health insurance, microfinance management training for regular premium payments, and assistance with independent registration for participation. The activity results showed a significant increase in participants' knowledge and understanding of the benefits of health insurance. In addition, there was an increase in the number of informal workers registering as independent participants and demonstrating a commitment to sustainable premium payments. This program demonstrates that community empowerment can be an effective strategy to expand Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and improve the welfare of informal workers through sustainable health protection.
