Abstract

Certification of waqf land plays an important role in ensuring legal certainty and preventing disputes that often occur due to unclear ownership status. In Indonesian positive law, waqf land is regulated in Law Number 41 of 2004 concerning Waqf and Government Regulation Number 42 of 2006, which requires every waqf land to be registered and certified by the National Land Agency (BPN). However, in practice, many waqf lands have not been certified due to lack of public awareness, administrative limitations, and bureaucratic obstacles. As a result, waqf land often becomes the object of dispute, especially when the heirs of the waqif try to reclaim the assets that have been donated. This study analyzes the implementation of waqf land certification to avoid disputes in a positive legal perspective based on legal certainty. Using the normative juridical method, this study examines the laws and regulations and obstacles in the implementation of waqf land certification in Indonesia. The results of the study indicate that waqf land certification can provide legal protection for waqf assets and ensure that the land continues to be utilized in accordance with the established social and religious objectives. Therefore, it is necessary to increase the effectiveness of certification through digitalization of land services, simplification of administrative procedures, and increasing the role of Nadzir in managing waqf land. With a better certification system, legal certainty for waqf land can be guaranteed, thereby avoiding potential disputes and strengthening the role of waqf in the social and economic development of the community.

Abstract

The Sedau Tourism Village in West Lombok has great tourism potential, however, it is still focused on the natural attractions of Gunung Jae as the main attraction. This study aims to analyze the potential of tourism products in this village using the 5A approach, which includes attractions, accessibility, amenity, accommodation, and tourism activities. This study used a qualitative approach through a field study, with data collection through observation and interviews with 8 informants including the management of the Pokdarwis, homestay owners, UMKM actors, art actors, and operators of tourist attractions. The results found that Sedau Tourism Village offers a variety of natural, cultural and man-made attractions, but accessibility and supporting facilities are still a challenge, while accommodation limited to homestays needs to be developed. Diversification of tourism activities is also urgently needed to increase the attractiveness of this village. This research recommends improving road infrastructure, providing eco-friendly transportation, and developing supporting facilities and community-based accommodation. In addition, the utilization of digital technology, such as virtual tour applications, is also suggested to improve the introduction and experience of tourism in Sedau Tourism Village.

Abstract

This study investigates the difficulties faced by seventh-grade students in writing descriptive texts at SMP Negeri 2 Pematangsiantar. Writing, as a productive language skill, requires mastery of various components including content development, organization, vocabulary, language use, and mechanics. However, many students still struggle to express ideas effectively in written English. Employing a descriptive qualitative research design, this study focused on analyzing students’ writing performance using Jacobs et al.’s (1981) analytical scoring rubric. Data were collected through a descriptive writing test given to 90 students from three different academic ability levels. Each writing sample was assessed based on five writing components. The findings revealed that the most frequent difficulties occurred in mechanics, with 511 total cases, followed by language use with 238 difficulties. Errors in vocabulary (53), organization (41), and content (1) were considerably fewer, indicating that while students generally understood the descriptive writing format, their ability to apply proper grammar and writing conventions remained limited. The results suggest that the students’ struggles were not primarily due to a lack of ideas, but rather insufficient control over the technical aspects of writing. This study highlights the importance of targeted instructional strategies in grammar and mechanics to support students’ writing development. Teachers are encouraged to incorporate explicit writing practice and feedback into the classroom to improve students’ overall proficiency in descriptive text writing.
