Abstract

Background. The prevalence of burnout among students at madrasas has reached a critical level, highlighting the need for efficient administration of counselling services to tackle this issue. Understanding how counselling may mitigate student burnout is crucial for improving educational achievements and promoting student welfare. Purpose. This research investigates the efficacy of counselling service administration in mitigating burnout among students in madrasas. The study aims to analyse the effects of these services and provide not just valuable insights, but practical, actionable suggestions for enhancing counselling practices in educational institutions, making the research directly applicable to the field.   Method. This research employs a qualitative approach, using a case study technique to assess the function of counselling services in the school setting. Data were gathered via comprehensive interviews, participatory observations, and documentation studies involving students, counsellors, and instructors. Thematic analysis was used to identify the primary themes that arose from the data. Results. The study results indicate that doing a thorough evaluation of student requirements has a substantial impact on reducing the likelihood of burnout by facilitating the development of more suitable remedies. Appointing qualified counsellors improves the efficacy of counselling services by fostering a more profound comprehension of student concerns. Continuous mentorship programs provide crucial emotional and practical assistance, aiding students in cultivating appropriate coping mechanisms. Moreover, including student input enhances the quality of counselling services.   Conclusion. This research provides a substantial advancement in understanding counselling service administration. It introduces intervention models that may be used in different educational institutions to address student burnout effectively. The results provide pragmatic advice for other academic environments, including strategies to improve their counselling services and effectively tackle student burnout.

Abstract

Chat Generative Pre-trained Transformer (ChatGPT) is an advanced machine learning model designed to generate and process vast amounts of data, enabling it to provide answers to various questions. This research aims to explore the benefits and drawbacks of using ChatGPT, particularly in the context of language learning, focusing on enhancing high school writing skills. The data for this study was sourced from digital media and academic repositories. ChatGPT plays a significant role in research by assisting in generating ideas for articles; however, it also presents challenges, including concerns about data accuracy, ethical considerations, and potential impacts on students' critical thinking abilities (Fuchs, 2023). Additionally, this study will examine how ChatGPT can be leveraged to enhance student's writing capabilities in an educational setting.

Abstract

This study uniquely examines Pakistan's higher education by integrating structural, institutional, and policy perspectives, emphasising global improvement strategies. Unlike prior studies focusing predominantly on barriers, this research innovatively identifies actionable opportunities for enhancing international competitiveness. A mixed methods approach was used to collect qualitative data through structured interviews and case studies from eight universities, including four public and four private. Quantitative data comprised surveys of 420 students, 20 faculty members, and four administrators, analysed using descriptive statistics and thematic content analysis. The three main challenges identified are inadequate funding and infrastructure, ineffective governance, and weak research culture. Conversely, the study highlights distinctive opportunities, including technology-enhanced learning platforms, international academic partnerships, and stronger industry-academia collaborations. Recommendations prioritise investing significantly in educational infrastructure, establishing robust quality assurance mechanisms, introducing affordable tuition policies, enhancing faculty professional development, improving governance transparency, expanding online learning initiatives, and actively pursuing global academic alliances. By explicitly linking specific challenges with strategic opportunities, this study provides novel, evidence-based directions for policymakers, administrators, and educators to improve Pakistan's higher education sustainably, strengthening its global competitiveness and overall academic excellence.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the practice of continuing education in higher education institutions in Pakistan, focusing on implementing the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4. Using a qualitative approach and case study methods, data were collected through in-depth interviews with department heads, lecturers, and students and analysis of curriculum documents from four public universities in Lahore. The results show a significant gap between the existing curriculum content and the actual needs in the job market, where many curricula still need to be focused on theoretical knowledge with adequate attention to the development of practical skills necessary to face the challenges of the professional world. This research identifies the need for curriculum updates, lecturer training, and improvement of educational facilities to build graduates who are better prepared to face global demands. The implications of these findings emphasize that reforms in higher education are urgently needed to ensure that the curriculum offered is relevant and, by the demands of the industry, to create quality and highly competitive human resources in the global market.
