Abstract

Penelitian ini mengembangkan sebuah model Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) untuk melakukan klasifikasi kategori mutu tahu berdasarkan citra digital dan menentukan grid produk tahu berdasarkan kategori mutunya. Tahapan penelitian ini meliputi pengambilan sampel data, pelabelan data, preprocessing citra, pembuatan model CNN, training model CNN, evaluasi model CNN dan visualisasi kategorisasi. Sampel data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari 600 citra tahu yang terbagi menjadi tiga kategori mutu, yaitu mutu A, B, dan C. Peneliti menggunakan metode pembaharuan stokastik (Stochastic Gradient Descent) dengan learning rate 0.001, dan fungsi aktivasi ReLU. Hasil pengembangan menunjukkan bahwa model kedua keseluruhan bentuk memiliki tingkat performansi dan validasi akurasi yang lebih tinggi sebesar 100 % dibandingkan dengan model pertama tampak permukaan sebesar 77%. Model kedua  memiliki arsitektur yang lebih kompleks dan lebih sesuai dengan karakteristik deteksi keseluruhan bentuk pada tahu. Dengan pengembangan model CNN ini, diharapkan industri tahu dapat meningkatkan efisiensi dalam penentuan kualitas tahu dan harga jual yang sesuai. Implementasi teknologi ini memungkinkan kategorisasi mutu tahu yang akurat dan objektif berdasarkan citra digital, yang dapat mengurangi ketergantungan pada penilaian manual.

Abstract

Accurate coal price forecasts are crucial, as volatility in coal prices significantly impacts company performance and profitability. Traditional time series forecasting methods, such as exponential smoothing, are known for their simplicity and low data requirements. In contrast, machine learning techniques, such as random forest and neural network, offer higher accuracy in predictions. However, very few attempts have been made to combine the simplicity of traditional methods with the accuracy of machine learning techniques. This paper presents a novel stacking-based model that integrates both traditional statistical methods and machine learning techniques to enhance coal price predictions. Using Indonesian coal price data from January 2009 to October 2021, we trained the models on various combinations of predictors to generate new predictions. Our findings demonstrate that our stacking-based model outperforms other models, with RMSE and MAPE values of 6.44 and 5.97%, respectively. These results indicate that the model closely forecasts actual coal prices, capturing 94.03% of the price movements. The main contribution of this study is the application of stacking-based models to coal price forecasting in Indonesia, which has not been previously explored, thus enriching the literature on this topic.

Abstract

This study analyzes the use of user status by planners on maintenance orders (MO) that experienced a backlog of more than one month in Plant 1A, 3, 4, and 7 of PT Pupuk Kaltim during 2024 using Fishbone Diagram and Pareto Chart methods. The Fishbone Diagram is used to identify the root causes of the backlog, which are grouped into six main categories: Man, Method, Material, Machine, Measurement, and Environment. The results of the Pareto Chart analysis show that the backlog is mainly caused by factors such as Waiting Material (WMAT), Waiting for Confirmation (WCON), and Waiting for Shutdown (WSHU). Based on these findings, this study provides strategic recommendations to improve the effectiveness of the planning and management of MOs through the optimization of user status usage by planners. These findings are expected to help PT Pupuk Kaltim reduce MO backlogs and improve plant maintenance efficiency.

Abstract

The growth of electric vehicles is accompanied by an increase in the number of batteries and battery waste produced, which can ultimately have harmful effects on the environment. As a solution, battery pack remanufacturing has emerged as an effective alternative. However, challenges in the remanufacturing process include determining which battery pack components can be repaired and which require replacement with new components, ensuring that remanufacturing costs remain low while preventing potential future failures. This study aims to develop a remanufacturing decision model that integrates Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) with a remanufacturing cost model. The study’s results outline the relationship between failure modes and battery pack components, whereby each failure mode can be classified to determine appropriate repair or replacement actions. While specific actions have been formulated, remanufacturing costs remain the final determinant in the overall battery remanufacturing decision. Based on the analysis, repairs or replacement of new part on 13 components associated with failure modes still render the battery pack suitable for remanufacturing, with a potential cost saving of more than 40% compared to purchasing a new battery pack.

Abstract

The Small-Scale Industrial Zone of Somber (SIKS) serves as a center for tofu and tempeh production, where one of the producers processes approximately 100 kg of soybeans into tempeh daily. The tempeh production process in SIKS contributes significantly to environmental impacts, particularly during the soybean boiling stage, which uses firewood as the primary energy source. The use of firewood generates higher emissions of greenhouse gases such as CH₄, CO₂, and N₂O compared to other types of fuel. This study aims to analyze the environmental impacts of the tempeh production process in SIKS using the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) method supported by SimaPro software. The analysis results indicate that the boiling stage contributes the highest impact, with a score of 51.5 Pt, mainly due to the use of firewood. As an improvement strategy, a simulation was conducted by replacing firewood with liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), which showed a significant reduction in environmental impact to 4.44 Pt. This strategy also reflects the principle of sustainability by promoting the use of cleaner and more efficient energy sources to reduce the environmental burden. Therefore, the use of LPG is considered effective in reducing environmental impacts in the categories of human health, ecosystem, and resources in the tempeh production process at SIKS.

Abstract

Kota Balikpapan merupakan salah satu kota di Kalimantan Timur yang memiliki tempat wisata yang berpotensi untuk dikembangkan, terutama di wilayah Timur karena sebagian besar wilayah tersebut adalah daerah pesisir pantai. Salah satu lokasi wisata yang perlu dikembangkan adalah Kampung Warna-warni Teluk Seribu. Lokasi wisata yang berada di pinggir Kota Balikpapan, tepatnya di pinggir Teluk Seribu, memungkinkan wisata ini menjadi wisata keluarga yang dapat dikunjungi untuk berlibur maupun hanya untuk bersantai bersama keluarga. Wisata ini juga memiliki berbagai mural yang unik sehingga dapat dikunjungi oleh generasi muda. Namun, setelah pandemi, wisata ini mengalami penurunan pengunjung karena gambar – gambar di dinding mulai rusak karena tidak di rawat selama pandemi dan fasilitas penunjang seperti tempat sampah yang masih kurang. Sehingga diperlukan optimalisasi agar Kampung Warna-warni Teluk Seribu dapat menarik minat pengunjung kembali. Optimalisasi dilakukan dengan perbaikan dan penambahan fasilitas wisata seperti spot fotografi dan promosi melalui media Instagram. Hal tersebut perlu dilakukan karena sektor pariwisata merupakan salah satu sektor penting pada perkembangan daerah terutama pada Pendapatan Asli Daerah. Peningkatan potensi wisata sangat penting tidak hanya bagi perkembangan daerah, namun juga pada kesejahteraan masyarakat. Setelah seluruh kegiatan dilaksanakan, terjadi peningkatan pengunjung pada bulan Juni dan Juli 2023.

Abstract

The availability of rice is a matter of considerable concern; this is related to food needs in an area, one of which is the City of Balikpapan. The city of Balikpapan is a city that has the potential to experience an increase in population due to increased birth rates and immigration and is supported by the discourse on the isolation of the National Capital. In one year, humans are able to spend 0.1146 tons/year. With an increase in population, it has the potential to increase rice consumption in the City of Balikpapan. Therefore, a rice availability simulation is carried out by considering the availability factors by using a Causal Loop Diagram and calculating factor values by using a Stock and Flow Diagram to see what conditions will be in the future after modeling. From the simulation, two scenarios were obtained to overcome the problem of rice availability in Balikpapan City, which resulted in an increase in the procurement and procurement of rice from Bulog and distributors, and the scenario chosen was scenario 2, namely an increase in rice procurement and distribution.

Abstract

The pumps in Steam System PT XYZ frequently fail, resulting in a cumulative downtime of 15000 hours and potentially affecting output. The goal of this study is to examine the problem by 1) knowing the pump reliability, 2) evaluating the pump maintenance system using MVSM, and 3) offering recommendations based on the reliability and MVSM results in the Steam System Area of PT XYZ. The reliability values of pumps G04-III-A, G04-I-S, G04-I-A, G07-A, and G02-S were calculated as 52,20%, 45,59%, 50,19%, 47,09%, and 43,15%, respectively. The maintenance system was then evaluated using MVSM, yielding a Current State Map with a maintenance efficiency of 51%, a VA activity time of 8927 minutes, and an NVA activity time of 9672 minutes. The Future State Diagram The advice resulted in a 99% gain in maintenance efficiency, and NVA activity time was reduced by 9600 minutes. Maintenance time intervals on pumps G02-S, G04-I-A, G04-III-A, G04-I-S, and G07-A are recommended every 49 days, 31 days, 44 days, 35 days, and 76 days, respectively, while recommendations with the MVSM approach are in the form of eliminating the time delay that occurs when the material is not available, which is done by estimating the time the material is needed and the previous purchase time. This study concludes that by following the recommendations, the pump maintenance system in the Steam System Area of PT XYZ may be optimized.

Abstract

Bread is a practical source of carbohydrates and is popular among people of all ages, from children to adults. The flatbread factory, "ZB (Zebra Brother)," located in Balikpapan, has been operating since 2004, and its products are pretty well-known to the local community. However, this factory experiences obstacles such as the uncertainty of machine repair times, which impacts the company's ability to reschedule production, and the raw materials provided can exceed their storage period. If all subsystems of the bread production process are well understood, the process can run smoothly and meet market needs. This study aims to identify factors that influence the flat bread production system, analyze and model it to predict production performance over the next 5 years, and provide strategic recommendations to improve and increase the efficiency of the flat bread production system. Of the six scenarios, the five best scenarios were identified, namely adding machines and sales, and conducting regular promotions, which were able to maximize profits and sustainably meet market demand while facing the challenges of increasing raw material prices and growing competition.
