Abstract

The large number of farmers harvesting rice in peat areas, especially in Malintang village, creates mountains or piles of rice husks along the road. Because the peat area is an agricultural area, there is a lot of rice husk waste. Based on the initial observation of the facilitator team to the community in Malintang village, most people use this rice husk waste for gardening purposes such as being used as a mixture of fertilizer or animal feed. However, this rice husk waste has not been optimally utilized as an alternative fuel. Therefore, the facilitator team wants to facilitate training in making this briquette into one of the alternative energies that can be used by peat communities, especially in Malintang sub-district. This training aims to (1) provide education to the people of Gambut District about the benefits of briquettes as an alternative fuel, (2) provide training to the community on how to make briquettes as an alternative fuel, (3) find out the perception of the peat community regarding briquettes as an alternative fuel. Based on the results of the questionnaire analysis, it was found that 75% of the public's perception of briquette making was that they did not know about how to make briquettes and how to use them, however after training the community had received education about the use of rice husk waste into briquettes.

Abstract

This study aims to compare the effectiveness of traditional Arabic language learning methods with AI-assisted learning using the Smojo.AI chatbot in improving students' reading skills. Using a mixed-methods approach, this research involved both quantitative and qualitative data collected from pre- and post-tests, interviews, and observations. The experimental group utilized the AI-powered Smojo.AI chatbot, while the control group followed traditional learning methods. The findings reveal that the experimental group demonstrated significant improvement in reading skills, with a higher post-test mean score compared to the control group, which showed a decline in performance. Statistical analysis confirmed the effectiveness of AI-assisted learning in enhancing students' Arabic language skills, especially in reading. This research contributes to the ongoing discussion about integrating technology into language education, offering valuable insights into the potential of AI tools in modernizing Arabic language teaching.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the Communicative Arabic course in enhancing students’ learning motivation and engagement in educational activities. Employing a descriptive-evaluative quantitative methodology, the research integrates statistical measurement with a nuanced pedagogical analysis of the psychological and behavioral dynamics associated with language acquisition. A purposive sample of twelve first-year students from the Faculty of Usuluddin at Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University (UNISSA) was selected, as they represent a key demographic actively involved in learning Arabic as a foreign language. The study utilized a structured, closed-ended questionnaire developed in alignment with well-established theories in educational psychology, including Self-Determination Theory (Deci & Ryan, 1985), the Theory of Planned Behavior (Ajzen, 2000), and Self-Regulated Learning Theory (Zimmerman, 2002). The instrument’s validity was ensured through expert review, and its reliability was confirmed with a high Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient of 0.89, indicating strong internal consistency and statistical significance. The findings reveal that a significant majority of participants (88.3%) demonstrated high intrinsic motivation toward learning communicative Arabic. Additionally, 93.3% reported positive emotional attitudes toward the course, exhibiting the same high level of active participation in classroom activities (93.3%), alongside a strong commitment to completing homework assignments (91.7%). These indicators reflect the course’s substantial pedagogical effectiveness and its capacity to foster learner motivation and constructive engagement. Such outcomes align with contemporary learner-centered educational paradigms that emphasize meaningful, participatory, and student-driven learning experiences. Based on these results, the study recommends a comprehensive redesign of language curricula to strengthen intrinsic motivational components and collaborative engagement. It further advocates for teacher training programs that equip educators with strategies grounded in student-centered learning principles. Moreover, it calls for the adoption of modern assessment tools focused on measuring self-engagement and cognitive regulation within second and foreign language learning contexts.

Abstract

The Kahoot application is a game-based learning platform that is used as educational technology in schools and other educational institutions. The platform allows users, including students and teachers, to create and take interactive learning quizzes called "Kahoots". Kahoot is a multiple choice quiz that can be accessed via a web browser or the Kahoot app. With Kahoot, users can create fun and interactive learning experiences. This research uses a qualitative research approach where qualitative research as a scientific method is often used and carried out by a group of researchers in the field of social sciences, including educational sciences. A number of reasons were also put forward, the essence of which is that qualitative research enriches the results of quantitative research. Qualitative research is carried out to build knowledge through understanding and discovery.Kahoot allows you to create interactive quizzes that can help participants learn Arabic in a fun and interesting way, and Arabic Quiz can be used as a tool to test participants' understanding of the material that has been taught, thereby helping identify areas that need improvement. To reduce the negative impact of using technology, there are also fights between students in the world of education. This can support the learning process by utilizing technological sophistication. This advantage is not only found in the speed factor of obtaining information but also in facilities that can make learning more interesting, such as visuals and interactiveKeywords: kahoot, Arabic lamguage, and education.
