Abstract

Environmental sustainability and economic growth are often considered to be two conflicting goals, especially in developing countries that face significant challenges in managing natural resources while pursuing economic growth. This research explores the complex relationship between environmental sustainability and economic growth in developing countries, with the aim of identifying policies that support sustainable economic growth. The methods used include literature reviews and thematic analysis to identify key patterns and relationships in existing studies. The research results show that although economic growth is often accompanied by increases in resource consumption and pollutant emissions, developing countries can achieve sustainable growth through strengthening environmental regulations, investing in green technologies, and increasing public awareness. Economic diversification, such as the development of sustainable tourism and organic agribusiness, can also reduce pressure on natural resources and create new economic opportunities. The proposed policy implications include increased environmental regulations, support for green technologies, and public education efforts to support environmentally friendly practices, with an integrated approach that ensures a balance between economic growth and environmental protection.

Abstract

This study examines the role of the Information and Electronic Transactions (ITE) Law in regulating digital campaigns and addressing election violations during the 2024 Indonesian elections. With the increasing prevalence of online hoaxes and hate speech, this research adopts a normative juridical approach to analyze the effectiveness and limitations of the ITE Law in maintaining electoral integrity. The study reveals that while the ITE Law has provided a legal framework for addressing digital violations, challenges in its enforcement, such as vague provisions, selective implementation, and jurisdictional issues, have undermined its impact. The research also compares Indonesia's approach with international practices and suggests improvements in legal clarity, proactive monitoring, enforcement, public awareness, and international cooperation. The findings contribute to the development of a more robust regulatory framework for future elections in Indonesia, aiming to strengthen the role of digital platforms in promoting fair and transparent elections.

Abstract

Holistic education aims to educate students comprehensively, both in terms of religious knowledge and general knowledge. However, in reality, holistic education in Islamic educational institutions such as Islamic boarding schools has not been implemented properly. Students must be equipped with various abilities or skills to live their lives and pursue their future careers. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the implementation of holistic education in Islamic educational institutions. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data sources were obtained through in-depth interviews with twelve informants consisting of two school leaders, six senior and junior teachers, and three students. All informants were selected using snowball sampling. To support the interview data, the author also conducted direct observations for one month on how holistic education is practiced in the educational institutions under study. In addition, the author also analyzed academic documents that support data related to the research topic. All data were analyzed thematically using the interactive Miles and Huberman technique. The findings show that there are eight practices implemented in holistic education in Islamic educational institutions where this research was conducted. These eight practices are integrated into the teaching of religious beliefs and morals, general knowledge, public speaking skills training, social intelligence interaction, leadership basics, independence, discipline, and physical endurance. These findings can be used as a reference for educational institutions to implement true holistic education. Furthermore, the author suggests that future researchers conduct studies related to this issue, such as holistic education learning methods.

Abstract

This study examines the potential of digital-based zakat and waqf integration as a strategic instrument to support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through the Maqashid Sharia approach. Using descriptive qualitative methods and literature studies, this study explores how digitalization can improve efficiency, transparency, and inclusiveness in zakat and waqf management. The analysis shows that digital zakat and waqf integration aligns with the five main objectives of Maqashid Sharia: protection of religion, life, intellect, descendants, and property. Digital transformation is a catalyst for increasing public participation and equitable distribution of benefits, as well as addressing sustainable development challenges such as poverty, social inequality, and access to education. However, the implementation of this integration still faces challenges, including low digital literacy, a lack of innovation in social financial products, and limited regulations and reporting systems. Therefore, synergy between Islamic financial institutions, the government, and stakeholders is needed to build an adaptive, accountable, and sustainable zakat and waqf governance system to strengthen Islam's contribution to global development.

Abstract

The Mining Business License (IUP) is the main legal instrument in the management of mineral and coal resources in Indonesia. The revision of the Mineral and Mineral Law changes the authority to grant permits from the local government to the central government with the aim of reducing the practice of overlapping permits and corruption and strengthening the effectiveness of supervision. However, this centralization policy poses new challenges in the form of reduced role of local governments, limited community participation, and increased potential for social conflicts with indigenous peoples. This study used the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method with the PRISMA procedure on 971 articles, until 50 relevant articles were selected for analysis. The results of the study show that the practice of protecting the rights of communities, especially indigenous peoples, is still weak due to the lack of application of the Free, Prior, and Informed Consent (FPIC) principle. In addition, maladministrative practices, weak law enforcement, and lack of transparency worsen the governance of the mining sector and ignore the principle of intergenerational justice. This study confirms the existence of research gaps related to the effectiveness of authority centralization, community-based supervision models, FPIC implementation, and systematic studies of intergenerational justice in mining licensing. These findings contribute to strengthening the legal analysis of mining administration and open up opportunities for regulatory reform towards fairer, accountable, and more sustainable governance.
