Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effect of using retelling techniques on students’ vocabulary mastery among second-grade students at MAN Lombok Barat. A quasi-experimental research design was employed, involving two groups: an experimental group that received instruction through the retelling technique and a control group that was taught using conventional methods. The population consisted of all second-grade students, while the sample included two classes selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using pre-test and post-test assessments to measure changes in vocabulary mastery. The results indicated a significant improvement in the experimental group’s vocabulary performance, with an average post-test score of 71.84, compared to the control group’s score of 62.08. The paired sample t-test analysis revealed a t-value of 3.583, which is higher than the critical t-table value of 2.069, leading to the acceptance of the alternative hypothesis (Ha) and rejection of the null hypothesis (H₀). These findings align with previous studies by Mursilah (2016), Nursanti (2014), and Fadilaturrahmah (2022), which also reported that retelling techniques enhance students’ language skills, particularly vocabulary acquisition and comprehension. Moreover, this result supports the theoretical framework proposed by Idayani & Fitri (2021), who emphasized the effectiveness of retelling in creating a more interactive and student-centered learning environment. In conclusion, the retelling technique has a significant positive impact on students’ vocabulary mastery. Therefore, it is recommended for English teachers as an engaging and effective strategy to improve vocabulary learning outcomes.

Abstract

This research is a quantitative pre-experimental type which aims to determine the influence of Language Monopoly (Monoba) media on the activeness of learning Indonesian for class IV students. The research design used was one group pretest-posttest with a total of 22 students selected based on cluster sampling techniques. The data collection techniques used were pretest and posttest with 20 statement questions each in the form of a questionnaire. The data analysis technique in this research is descriptive and inferential statistical analysis. Based on the results of the analysis before the introduction of Monoba media, the average student pretest score was 53.40 and after the application of Monoba media, students' learning activity increased with a posttest average of 65.22. Thus, it can be concluded that Monoba media has an influence on the activeness of learning Indonesian for class IV students at SD Negeri 53 Latekko. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis kuantitatif pra-eksperimen yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh media Monopoli Bahasa (Monoba) terhadap keaktifan belajar Bahasa Indonesia siswa kelas IV. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah one group pretest-posttest dengan jumlah siswa sebanyak 22 orang yang dipilih berdasarkan teknik cluster sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah pretest dan posttest dengan masing-masing soal pernyataan sebanyak 20 soal berbentuk angket. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis statistik deskriptif dan inferensial. Berdasarkan hasil analisis sebelum pengenalan media Monoba, rata-rata nilai pretest siswa sebesar 53,40 dan setelah penerapan media Monoba, aktivitas belajar siswa meningkat dengan rata-rata posttest sebesar 65,22. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa media Monoba memiliki pengaruh terhadap keaktifan belajar Bahasa Indonesia siswa kelas IV di SD Negeri 53 Latekko.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini berfokus pada upaya mitigasi migrasi ilegal melalui sosialisasi bertema “Migrasi Aman dan Pencegahan TPPO” oleh BP3MI Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Barat di Desa Tetebatu Selatan. Sosialisasi ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan literasi migrasi, kesadaran hukum, serta memberikan pemahaman kepada masyarakat terkait prosedur resmi penempatan Pekerja Migran Indonesia (PMI) melalui skema Zero-Cost Placement. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi studi literatur, observasi lapangan, serta sosialisasi interaktif bersama masyarakat desa. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan masyarakat terhadap risiko jalur ilegal, pentingnya mengikuti prosedur resmi, serta manfaat program Zero-Cost yang melindungi pekerja migran dari eksploitasi biaya dan perdagangan orang. Program ini juga memperkuat hubungan kelembagaan antara BP3MI dan pemerintah desa dalam membangun kolaborasi jangka panjang menuju migrasi aman, legal, dan bermartabat.
