Abstract

This study examines code-mixing phenomena in the oral Arabic communication of students at An-Nur Tangkit Islamic boarding school in Indonesia. Given the relatively recent introduction of Arabic as a foreign language, students often incorporate Indonesian elements into their speech. Through qualitative field research involving observation and interviews, this study investigates the specific forms of code-mixing employed by students and teachers. The analysis reveals three primary language elements in code-mixing: individual words, phrases, and clauses. These findings contribute to a deeper understanding of the linguistic practices and challenges faced by learners of Arabic in Indonesian educational settings.

Abstract

Psycho-socio-linguistics is a branch of linguistics that studies the relationship between language and the psychology and social aspects of language speakers. Psycho-socio-linguistics has an important role in the process of language learning, especially Arabic. Given the importance of the role of psycho-socio-linguistics, researchers want to study more deeply how psycho-socio-linguistic phenomena in Arabic language learning are carried out at Muhammadiyah Boarding School, Cepu. The purpose of this study is to deepen our understanding of how psychological and social aspects interact in the process of learning Arabic. The method used in this study is descriptive-qualitative. The data collection technique involves observing and interviewing. The results of this study reveal that psycho-socio-linguistics in Arabic language learning helps understand the role of psychological factors, such as language understanding and information processing, in the context of social and cultural interactions. The research also underscores the importance of understanding differences in dialects, grammar, and social contexts in Arabic language teaching. The results of this study can be used as a basis for the development of more effective learning strategies in Arabic language teaching by considering the psychological and social aspects involved.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal what kind of language Imam Syafi'i uses in his poem, Tu’āẓimnī Ẓanbī. In looking for aspects of beauty and meaning, this study uses the theory of stilistics presented by Syihabuddin Qalyubi. According to him, the level of stilistic analysis includes five aspects of study, namely phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, and imagery. This research uses descriptive method with qualitative analysis. The source of this research data is the poem of Imam Syafi'i, Tu’āẓimnī Ẓanbī. The results showed the existence of a distinctive language style used by Syafi'i imams, thus causing a beautiful meaning effect. Five aspects of stylistic analysis in this poem have been found: 1) In phonology (al-mustawā al-ṣautī) found the use of the same final letter (qāfiyah) namely mim and using one bahr pattern namely tawil, each last stanza of this poem is harakat fathah. 2) In morphology (al-mustawā al-ṣarfī) there is shigah muballaghah. 3) In syntax (al-mustawā al-naḥwī) there is a deviation, namely taqdim wa ta'khir and ḥażaf. 4) In Semantics (al-mustawā al-dalālī) there are synonymous words and word selection according to the context of the sentence. 5) In Imagery (al-mustawā al-taṣwīrī) found the presence of majaz.

Abstract

This research develops teaching materials in the form of LKPD (Learner Workbook) based on a collaborative approach to enhance reading skills for seventh-grade students at MTS Renjana Mulia Tuban. The study aims to make learning more effective and meaningful, focusing on the design, validation, effectiveness, and student responses to the LKPD. Utilizing the Research Development (RD) method based on the ADDIE Model, the study involved an experimental class of 19 students and a control class of 18 students. Data collection instruments included questionnaires, interviews, observations, and tests, with analysis performed using statistical methods and Independent Sample T-Test techniques supported by IBM SPSS 21 software. The results indicated that the LKPD consists of 25 pages, receiving validation scores of 86.67% from design experts, 85.00% from material experts, and 96.00% from learning practitioners, all falling within the very feasible category. The average percentage from the student response questionnaire was 85.00%, categorized as very interesting. Hypothesis testing revealed a significant difference in reading skills between the experimental class using LKPD and the control class, with a sig value of 0.001, leading to the rejection of H0 and acceptance of Ha.
