Abstract

The speed regulation on this 3-phase induction motor uses a PI Controller by applying the Field Oriented Control (FOC) method, one part of the vector control method. One of the systems developed in this study is the speed control of a 3-phase induction motor by modeling the Field Oriented Control (FOC) system with a speed controller using a PI Controller, the results obtained from speed regulation are that to achieve steady state it only takes 1 to 2 seconds with Stedy error average is 1.175% with not too big rise time and overshoot. By modeling the FOC system using the PI Controller, it is able to overcome the weakness in the speed of the induction motor and provide high control system performance criteria, by suppressing the overshoot and steady state error to close to zero, and the rise time and settling time are relatively fast compared to the open loop controller.

Abstract

Biaya pengoperasian yang murah dan keandalan yang tinggi dari motor induksi tiga fase telah menyebabkan aplikasinya yang luas dalam industri. Namun masih terdapat masalah dengan pengaturan kecepatan motor induksi, seperti inefisiensi dan ketidakstabilan pada kecepatan rendah. Penelitian ini mengusulkan pengendalian arus magnetisasi (Id) pada Indirect Field Oriented Control (IFOC) menggunakan kontroler PID-Fuzzy untuk meningkatkan efisiensi dan performa dinamik motor. Simulasi dilakukan dengan LabVIEW dan validasi eksperimen menggunakan hardware berbasis NI MyRIO. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa kontroler PID-Fuzzy mengurangi settling time hingga 62 ms dan meningkatkan efisiensi hingga 1,07% dibandingkan kontroler PID konvensional. Implementasi hardware menunjukkan peningkatan efisiensi sebesar 3% pada kondisi tanpa beban, meskipun terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara simulasi dan implementasi akibat losses komponen non-ideal.

Abstract

The vehicle emission testing awareness programme in Panggung Village, Pelaihari Subdistrict, Tanah Laut Regency aims to raise public awareness of the importance of vehicle emission testing in controlling air pollution. Using a qualitative and participatory approach, this activity involves planning, material preparation, practical demonstrations, and ongoing assistance. Program results show a significant increase in community understanding of vehicle emissions testing and its impact on health and the environment. 85% of participants reported feeling more aware of the importance of emissions testing, and 60% began regularly conducting emissions testing on their vehicles. Practical demonstrations using Arduino-based tools and gas sensors successfully improved community skills in conducting emissions testing. Ongoing support ensures sustainable implementation. This programme provides an effective model for increasing community participation in air pollution control in rural areas and can be applied in other villages facing similar challenges.

Abstract

Starch based biofoams have emerged as a sustainable alternative to conventional plastics, yet their performance varies significantly depending on formulation and processing methods. This study aims to comprehensively evaluate the relationship between raw material composition, production techniques, and functional properties of biofoams through an integrated analysis of ten recent formulations. The methodology involved a systematic review of experimental data derived from diverse production methods, including thermopressing, microbial fermentation, evaporative drying, freeze drying, and molding. Results reveal that banana peel and cassava starch and banana stem fiber biofoam offers an optimal balance of high tensile strength 43.86 MPa, low water absorption 16.91%, and moderate biodegradability 65.82%, making it ideal for dry food packaging. In contrast, bamboo powder biofoam exhibits exceptional water absorption 97.1%, suitable for horticultural substrates, while bamboo cellulose–starch composite demonstrates outstanding compressive strength 78.74 MPa and thermal stability 410.86 °C, indicating potential for lightweight structural applications. These findings underscore that biofoam design must be application-specific, providing evidence-based guidance for developing effective, sustainable materials tailored to real world needs.
