Abstract

The daycare industry in Makassar has shown significant growth recently, driven by the increasing number of dual-income households and changing patterns of early childhood care. This study explores the opportunities and challenges faced by daycare businesses inthe city, focusing on operational, social, and market-related aspects. Opportunities include the rising awareness among parents regarding early childhood education, growing demand for flexible childcare services, and potential partnerships with corporations, healthcare providers, and educational institutions. Additionally, the relatively limited number of high-quality daycare centers in suburban areas offers room for expansion. However, several challenges persist, such as high operational costs, a shortage of trained caregivers, cultural preferences for family-based childcare, and competition from informal providers offering lower prices. The study highlights the importance of adopting innovative solutions, including technology-enabled monitoring systems, diversified service packages, and continuous staff development programs to enhance service quality and build customer trust. By addressing these challenges and leveraging the available opportunities, daycare businesses in Makassar can achieve sustainable growth and contribute to improving early childhood care standards in the region. This research offers helpful tips for entrepreneurs, policymakers, and stakeholders in developing strategies to strengthen the competitiveness of the daycare sector.

Abstract

Indonesia's digital creative industry is a key driver of national economic growth, thanks to a young population that is comfortable with technology. But even though it has a lot of potential, the industry has ongoing structural problems that make it hard to stay competitive in the long run. These include a big gap between the skills that schools teach and what businesses need, unevendigital infrastructure, weak protection of intellectual property, and broken governance. People want free content and businesses that compete on price, which makes it even harder for businesses to innovate and stay in business. This study presents a strategic framework aimed at fortifying the industry, utilizing Porter’s Diamond Model as the analytical foundation. We use a quantitative explanatory approach backed by secondary data to look at factor conditions, demand conditions, related and supporting industries, firm strategy and competition, and the effects of government and chance. The results show that we need a development strategy that is based on four pillars: improving human capital, digital infrastructure, and ecosystem support; boosting innovation and business competitiveness; and making regulatory coordination more efficient. By following these steps, Indonesia can become a leader in theglobal digital economy by creating a more competitive, inclusive, and sustainable creative ecosystem.

Abstract

To maintain the financial stability of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) is a vital issue which needs a revitalization of green economic capability. This study explores the impact of Green Economy Capability (GEC) on the financial stability of MSMEs in the coastal region of Bira Beach, with a focus on the mediating role of government support. A SmartPLS-SEM used in this study to investigate the survey involving 150 MSMEs. The key variables measured include GEC, financial stability, and government support, with the data analyzed through descriptive and inferential statistical techniques. The findings indicate that GEC significantly influences government support, which in turn has a positive effect on financial stability. However, GEC does not have a direct impact on MSMEs' financial stability. These findings underscore the critical role of government policies in supporting the adoption of sustainable practices among MSMEs, particularly in regions heavily dependent on tourism. This research contributes to the literature by providing empirical evidence of the indirect relationship between GEC and financial stability through government support in the coastal MSME sector. In results, we offered two solutions. First, the policymakers must prioritize initiatives that strengthen MSME’s capacity for sustainable practices. Second, the need for tailored support systems in coastal areas like the adoption of green practices which must be integrated with local economic strategies to yield both environmental and financial benefits.

Abstract

The beauty industry in Indonesia has grown notably over the past decade, driven by higher public awareness of self-care, evolving lifestyles, digital advances, and the country’s cultural diversity. This steady rise underscores the importance of having well-structured strategic planning to maintain sustainability and remain competitive in a constantly shifting market. This study examines how strategic planning is implemented within Indonesia’s beauty sector by identifying both internal and external factors that shape business strategies for local as well as multinational companies. It focuses on two central questions: (1) which major factors influence the development of Indonesia’s beauty industry, and (2) what types of strategic planning are used to support its expansion. The research employs a qualitative method based on secondary data. Porter’s Diamond Theory and a SWOT framework are used to explore the sources of competitiveness, while the TOWS matrix is applied to develop strategic alternatives. The results show that the industry’s progress relies not only on its internal strengths and limitations but also on how effectively it responds to external opportunities and potential risks. The study also highlights the need for cooperation among industry stakeholders, supportive government policies, and continuous innovation to keep pace with changing consumer preferences and increasing global competition.
