Abstract

This socialization or community service aims to provide knowledge to the community about the importance of the role of parents in children's education. Through this socialization, it is hoped that the community will pay more attention to their children's education, not depending on the teacher alone, but rather on collaboration between the teacher and the child's parents. The method used in this socialization is a discussion method where there is someone as a presenter and there is someone in the audience who asks questions and is answered by the presenter. The results of observations carried out by researchers in Mattirotasi village showed that parents did not contribute enough to their children's education, which had an impact on learning motivation and also the quality of children's education in Mattirotasi village. The impact of the lack of parental contribution can be seen from the large number of children whose cognitive level does not match the child's own age or educational level, there are still many children who behave negatively towards their friends, for example hitting and making fun of their classmates.

Abstract

This article discusses improving speaking skills in undergraduate PGSD students at Muhammadiyah University of Makassar (Unismuh Makassar), especially in Advanced Indonesian Language Learning courses. This research aims to identify the challenges faced by students in improving their speaking skills and propose solutions that can be applied in the learning process. The method used is qualitative research with a case study approach, which involves observation, interviews and document analysis. The research results show that the main challenges faced by students are lack of self-confidence, limited vocabulary, and the inability to organize arguments systematically. The proposed solutions include the application of effective communication techniques, the use of technology-based learning media, and the habit of speaking in public to increase self-confidence. It is hoped that this research can make a positive contribution to the development of speaking skills of PGSD students at Unismuh Makassar, as well as becoming a reference for teaching Indonesian in tertiary institutions.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to explore the experiences of elementary school teacher education (PGSD) students at Muhammadiyah Makassar University which took place over seven weeks from November to December 2024. This research uses descriptive qualitative research to observe and analyze the listening skills of 5th semester elementary school teacher education students at Muhammadiyah Makassar University. Based on the results of this study conducted by researchers, it can be concluded that the experience of 5th semester students of elementary teacher education is quite satisfactory even though there are several obstacles they experienced when taking the results of the test sheets conducted by researchers.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the perceptions of students in the Elementary School Teacher Education (PGSD) Program at Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar regarding reading instructional strategies implemented in elementary schools. The approach used is descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques through semi-structured interviews and questionnaires. The respondents of this study were 32 PGSD students currently enrolled in the reading instruction course. The findings reveal that the majority of students have a positive perception of the various reading instructional strategies taught during the course. They believe that the use of diverse strategies grounded in constructivist theory, such as meaning-based word comprehension strategies and the use of interactive media, is highly effective in enhancing elementary students' reading skills. This research makes a significant contribution to the development of more relevant and effective reading instructional strategies in elementary schools and serves as a reference for teaching practices at the university level.

Abstract

This research aims to improve thematic learning outcomes by using the Application of Scientific Methods to Improve Student Learning Outcomes with Poster Media at UPTD SDN 66 Kanjitongan. This research is classroom-based Class Action Research. The subjects of this research were class IV students at UPTD SDN 66 Kanjitongan, totaling 28 students. The research data was obtained from quantitative data in the form of learning results tests in cycle I and cycle II, as well as data from student observations. The results of this research show that: 1) the learning outcomes of cycle I are in the low category with an average score of 67.67%. 2) Science learning outcomes in class IV, cycle II are in the high category with an average score of 86.42%. 3) a scientific approach using poster media can improve the thematic learning outcomes of UPTD SDN 66 Kanjitongan students. The results of observations show that there has been a change in students' attitudes, including: students become more active and motivated in the learning process, more confident and brave enough to ask questions about subject matter that they do not yet understand. This shows that there was an increase in learning outcomes after applying scientific methods to improve student learning outcomes using poster media.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of applying the Jigsaw cooperative learning model on students’ literacy skills in the Indonesian language subject for sixth-grade students at SDN 76 Tarowang. The research employed a Quasi-Experimental Design with a Pretest–Posttest Design. The sample consisted of 17 students who participated in the learning process using the Jigsaw model. Data were collected through literacy skill tests administered before and after the treatment.The results showed that the average pretest score of 28.47 increased to 56.41 in the posttest, indicating an improvement of 27.94 points. The Shapiro–Wilk normality test confirmed that the data were normally distributed (pretest Sig. = 0.513; posttest Sig. = 0.336). Furthermore, the Paired Sample t-test revealed a t-value of 7.180 with a significance level (Sig. 2-tailed) = 0.000 (< 0.05), indicating a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores. These findings demonstrate that the implementation of the Jigsaw cooperative learning model has a significant positive effect on students’ literacy skills. This model effectively engages students in reading comprehension, summarizing information, and communicating ideas collaboratively.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keefektifan penerapan metode belajar deliberate practice terhadap pemahaman membaca cerita siswa kelas V UPTD SDN 218 Inpres Dulang Kabupaten Maros. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah pre eksperimental design dengan pendekatan  One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V UPTD SDN 218 Inpres Dulang Kabupaten Maros sebanyak 18 sisw yang dipilih menggunakan Teknik total sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan hasil penilaian keterampilan membaca. Data yang diperoleh selanjutnya dianalisis menggunakan Teknik analisis statistika, yaitu statisti deskriptif dan statistic inferensial. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes pemahaman membaca dalam bentuk pretest dan posttest. Data analisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan inferensial dengan uji paired Sample T-Test  menggunakan SPSS 29.0. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman membaca siswa setelah diterapkan metode deliberate practice. Rata-rata nilai pretest siswa adalah  61,94, sedangkan rata-rata nilai postest meningkat menjadi 87,22. Hasil uji paired sampel t-test menunjukkan nilai signifikansi < 0,05, yang berarti terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan dari penerapan metode deliberate practice terhadap pemahaman membaca cerita siswa. Dengan demikian, metode Deliberate Practice terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman membaca siswa kelas V di UPTD SDN 218 Inpres Dulang Kabupaten Maros. Temuan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi acuan bagi pendidik dalam memilih metode pembelajaran yang efektif untuk meningkatkan pemahaman membaca cerita siswa

Abstract

Kesulitan menyimak pada siswa SD dipengaruhi oleh faktor internal, seperti rendahnya konsentrasi dan keterbatasan kosakata, serta faktor eksternal, seperti metode pengajaran yang kurang interaktif dan gangguan lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kesulitan menyimak pada siswa kelas V SD Muhammadiyah Perumnas. Menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif, data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Dari 16 siswa yang diteliti, 6 siswa mengalami kesulitan menyimak, sementara 10 siswa memiliki keterampilan menyimak yang baik. Kesulitan menyimak tampak jelas dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia, terutama dalam memahami materi lisan. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan penerapan metode pembelajaran interaktif serta penggunaan media visual untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menyimak siswa dan mendukung prestasi belajar mereka.

Abstract

Kesulitan membaca yang dialami oleh siwa SD dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor. Faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi yaitu: faktor internal yang menyebabkan anak mengalami kesulitan belajar membaca ialah kurangnya minat dari diri siswa tersebut untuk belajar membaca sehingga mereka menjadi malas dalam belajar membaca. Faktor eksternal yang memengaruhi kesulitan belajar membaca siswa dapat dikelompokkan dalam tiga lingkup, yaitu lingkungan keluarga, sekolah, dan masyarakat. Penelitian ini menggunkan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Penelitian kualitatif yaitu prosedur dalam penelitian yanag mengahsilkan data yang berupa kalimat tertulis maupun tidak tertulis (Illiyyina, Mar, and Hasanah 2023). Metode ini adalah metode yang digunakan untuk memeperoleh pengetahuan secara mendalam suatu problematika atau insiden. Kesulitan-kesulitan siswa dalam membaca yaitu: kesulitan mengenal kelompok huruf, kesulitan menghubungkan antara huruf dengan bunyi, kesulitan dalam membentuk suku kata, pembalikan posisi huruf, kekacauan dalam mengeja, keraguan dalam mengucap kata, kurang memahami arti kalimat.
