Abstract

ABSTRAK Dinamika lingkungan kerja kontemporer di hadapkan pada tantangan kompleks yang menuntut pemahaman mendalam mengenai aspek manusiawi dalam organisasi. Studi mengenai perilaku, budaya, dan etika organisasi menjadi relevan untuk dibedah melalui berbagai perspektif, termasuk media populer yang merefleksikan wacana sosial. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menginterpretasikan representasi perilaku organisasi, budaya, dan etika kerja dalam serial animasi satir Netflix "Human Resources" (2023). Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif-interpretatif dan metode analisis semiotika Roland Barthes pada adegan-adegan kunci, penelitian ini membongkar makna denotatif dan konotatif dari narasi visual dan verbal serial tersebut. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa serial ini secara alegoris menggambarkan konsep-konsep teoretis seperti fungsi manajemen (POAC), level budaya organisasi Schein, dan dilema etika kerja melalui interaksi para makhluk fantasi di lingkungan kantor. Konflik antar departemen, gaya kepemimpinan, dan proses evaluasi kinerja disajikan secara satiris untuk mengkritik disfungsi di tempat kerja modern. Penelitian ini memberikan dampak pada pemahaman bahwa media populer dapat menjadialat analisis yang kuat untuk merefleksikan realitas organisasi dan menekankan pentingnya kemitraan internal yang solid sebagai fondasi untuk mencapai Tujuan Pembangunan Berkelanjutan. Penelitian di masa depan disarankan untuk dapat melakukan analisis komparatif dengan media lain atau mengukur persepsi audiens secara kuantitatif terhadap isu-isu kerja yang direpresentasikan. ABSTRACT The dynamics of the contemporary work environment face complex challenges that demand a deepunderstanding of the human aspects of organizations. The study of organizational behavior, culture,and ethics is relevant to examine through various perspectives, including popular media that reflectssocial discourse. This study aims to interpret the representation of organizational behavior, culture,and work ethics in the Netflix satirical animated series "Human Resources" (2023). Using aqualitative descriptive-interpretive approach and Roland Barthes's semiotic analysis method in keyscenes, this study uncovers the denotative and connotative meanings of the series' visual and verbalnarratives. The analysis shows that the series allegorically depicts theoretical concepts such asmanagement functions (POAC), Schein's levels of organizational culture, and work ethics dilemmasthrough the interactions of fantasy creatures in the office environment. Interdepartmental conflicts,leadership styles, and performance evaluation processes are presented satirically to critiquedysfunction in the modern workplace. This research impacts the understanding that popular mediacan be a powerful analytical tool to reflect organizational realities and emphasizes the importanceof solid internal partnerships as a foundation for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.Future research is suggested to conduct comparative analysis with other media or quantitativelymeasure audience perceptions of the work issues represented.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Dinamika organisasi sering kali memunculkan konflik, terutama dalam tim yang bergantung padakolaborasi untuk mencapai tujuan mereka. Dalam tim olahraga, perbedaan pendapat mengenai peran,strategi, dan komunikasi dapat berdampak signifikan terhadap kinerja serta hubungan antaranggota.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi bagaimana gaya manajemen konflik, khususnya competingdan collaborating, ditampilkan dalam film Moneyball (2011) serta bagaimana pendekatan tersebutmemengaruhi dinamika tim. Dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif melalui analisis konten,penelitian ini menelaah adegan, dialog, dan interaksi Billy Beane, manajer umum Oakland Athletics,terkait penerapan strategi competing dan collaborating. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Beanemenerapkan gaya competing ketika membuat keputusan strategis yang tegas dan menolak metoderekrutmen tradisional, sementara gaya collaborating muncul dalam kerja samanya dengan Peter Branddan para pemain untuk merancang solusi inovatif berbasis data. Kombinasi ini mempercepat perubahanorganisasi sekaligus memperkuat motivasi dan kerja sama tim. Penggunaan yang tepat dari masingmasing gaya memastikan konflik menjadi peluang untuk kreativitas, bukan sumber perpecahan.Penelitian ini menyoroti potensi film sebagai media reflektif dalam memahami perilaku organisasi danmanajemen konflik, yang menjembatani teori dan praktik dengan cara yang menarik. Penelitianselanjutnya dapat mengkaji film manajemen lainnya atau membandingkan strategi manajemen konflikdalam berbagai konteks organisasi untuk memperkaya perspektif tentang kepemimpinan efektif dankolaborasi tim. ABSTRACT Organizational dynamics often give rise to conflicts, particularly in teams that depend on collaborationto achieve their goals. In sports teams, disagreements about roles, strategy, and communication cansignificantly affect performance and relationships among members. This study aims to explore howconflict management styles, specifically competing and collaborating, are portrayed in the film Moneyball(2011) and how these approaches influence team dynamics. Using a qualitative descriptive method withcontent analysis, the research examines scenes, dialogues, and interactions of Billy Beane, the generalmanager of the Oakland Athletics, in relation to his application of competing and collaborating strategies.The findings reveal that Beane applies the competing style when making firm strategic decisions andresisting traditional recruitment methods, while the collaborating style emerges in his cooperation withPeter Brand and the players to design innovative, data-driven solutions. This combination accelerates organizational change while strengthening motivation and teamwork. Proper use of each style ensuresthat conflicts become opportunities for creativity rather than sources of division.The study highlights thepotential of films as reflective media for understanding organizational behavior and conflict management,bridging theory and practice in an engaging way. Future research may examine other management-relatedfilms or compare conflict management strategies across different organizational contexts to enrichperspectives on effective leadership and team collaboration.

Abstract

Pengendalian diri adalah keterampilan penting yang membantu individu mengatur pikiran, emosi,dan tindakan agar konsisten dengan tujuan jangka panjang, meski dalam tekanan. Dalammanajemen, kemampuan ini menjadi dasar untuk bertindak terarah, terkendali, dan produktif dalammencapai sasaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji bagaimana film Home SweetLoan merepresentasikan pengendalian diri tokoh Kaluna dalam menghadapi konflik keluarga dantekanan ekonomi. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan naratif melaluiobservasi, memakai film Home Sweet Loan sebagai data utama, serta didukung literatur relevan.Temuan penelitian menunjukkan Kaluna menerapkan fungsi manajemen pribadi lewat pengendaliandiri, seperti merencanakan tujuan membeli rumah, mengatur keuangan dengan disiplin, menjagamotivasi menabung, serta menunda keinginan pribadi demi keluarga. Pengendalian diri Kalunaterlihat pada kemampuannya menahan dorongan konsumtif, berpikir matang sebelum bertindak, danmenjaga stabilitas emosional dalam tekanan. Dampak penelitian ini menegaskan bahwapengendalian diri berfungsi sebagai strategi praktis menghadapi tantangan ekonomi dan sosial,karena membantu individu mengambil keputusan bijak dan memprioritaskan tujuan jangka panjang.Penelitian selanjutnya disarankan mengeksplorasi representasi pengendalian diri pada film laindengan konteks sosial berbeda, serta memperluas analisis melalui psikologi positif dan manajemendiri. Self-control is an essential skill that helps individuals regulate their thoughts, emotions, and actionsto remain consistent with long-term goals, even under pressure. In management, this ability servesas the foundation for acting in a directed, controlled, and productive manner to achieve objectives.This study aims to examine how the film Home Sweet Loan represents the self-control of the maincharacter, Kaluna, in facing family conflict and economic pressure. The method used is qualitativewith a narrative approach through observation, using the film Home Sweet Loan as the primarydata source, supported by relevant literature. The findings show that Kaluna applies personalmanagement functions through self-control, such as planning the goal of buying a house, managingfinances with discipline, maintaining motivation to save, and postponing personal desires for thesake of family needs. Kaluna’s self-control is reflected in her ability to resist consumptive urges,think carefully before acting, and maintain emotional stability under pressure. The impact of thisstudy emphasizes that self-control functions as a practical strategy in dealing with economic andsocial challenges, as it helps individuals make wiser decisions and prioritize goals aligned withlong-term aspirations. Further research is recommended to explore the representation of selfcontrolin other films with different social contexts and to expand the analysis using positivepsychology and self-management approaches.

Abstract

Indonesia has a long history of patriarchal culture that places men as dominant and often restricts women's freedom of movement. This condition has given rise to gender inequality that persists to this day, making the issue of women's representation in the media, particularly in film, an important topic to examine. This study aims to analyze how the film Sri Asih (2022) represents women as superheroes amidst a patriarchal culture and its implications for the construction of gender roles in society. The study used a qualitative method with a narrative semiotic approach at the levels of reality and representation. Data were obtained through observation of scenes in the film and relevant supporting literature, then linked to theories of representation and feminism to uncover the meaning behind the depiction of Alana/Sri Asih. The results show that Sri Asih is portrayed as a brave, independent woman with the strength to challenge male domination. In various scenes, Alana appears not as a passive object but as an active subject who plays a role in fighting oppression, freeing citizens from exploitation, and becoming a symbol of new hope for society. This representation challenges traditional gender stereotypes that place women in a subordinate position, while also opening up new perspectives on gender equality in the public sphere. This research has had a positive impact in strengthening the understanding that film can be a crucial aspect in fostering collective awareness regarding women's empowerment. Future research could expand the study by comparing the representation of female superheroes in Indonesian and international films to broaden perspectives on gender construction in popular media.

Abstract

Education is a crucial pillar in developing the quality of human resources and shaping a nation’s progress. Yet, the condition of education in Indonesia still encounters many challenges, ranging from macro-level issues such as curriculum complexity, unequal access, high costs, and teacher competence, to micro-level problems like weak morals, poor character, and frequent cases of moral deviation. This research applies a qualitative approach through literature review and film analysis, using Laskar Pelangi as the main source to explore the application of educational theories. Findings indicate that the film portrays the determination of children in Lenggang Village to pursue education despite severe limitations. The educational practices illustrated in the film align with various theories, including behaviorism, constructivism, humanism, character education, creativity, multiple intelligences, and motivation. Teachers are shown not only as knowledge transmitters but also as mentors, role models, and motivators who nurture moral values, character, and learning enthusiasm. A paradox emerges when, on one hand, facilities and infrastructure are deemed vital for quality education, but the film demonstrates that persistence, student eagerness, and teacher dedication can compensate for such shortcomings. This highlights that educational achievement is influenced more by the integration of values, character, and motivation than by infrastructure alone. Ultimately, education that emphasizes humanistic values, moral development, and the optimization of student potential can create a generation with integrity, creativity, and resilience in facing global challenges, even though gaps between theory and practice remain.

Abstract

An organization can never be separated from administrative activities. Archivesare an activity that cannot be separated from administrative activities. Archives playan important role for organizations because archives are used to store and maintainimportant records or documents related to the organization's activities. Apart fromthat, archives also help organizations to avoid the risk of losing information ordocuments that could be considered valuable. By having well-organized archives,organizations will find it easier to access the information they need. In the past,archives were managed manually, such as notebooks and documents which werestill in the form of paper, which required storage space and required time in the search process. Therefore, nowadays many organizations choose to switch to digitalarchiving, which is an easier and faster process than manual archiving. Archivesmanagement at BRIDA East Java Province has not been carried out using a digitalsystem. To minimize risks in archival storage, it is better to change the manualrecords management system to a digital archive. The preparation of this finalassignment used qualitative research methods. Qualitative research usually collectsdata by conducting observations, interviews, and documenting research activities.Because archiving in BRIDA East Java Province is still done manually, in thisresearch a website-based design idea called Electronic Archives (E-SIP) wasdesigned to simplify the digital archiving process. With the creation of this design,it is hoped that it will facilitate the management of archives at BRIDA East JavaProvince and that archiving can be carried out digital.
