Children's dental health problems are caused by poor children's dental health maintenance behavior. Maintaining oral health in school-aged children still depends on their parents, because parents are the example and role model for every child. The most basic act of maintaining dental and oral health is brushing your teeth. For this reason, it is necessary to instill good and correct teeth-brushing habits. The habit of brushing teeth can be practiced regularly every day and monitored by parents using the wand's time table method. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of parental monitoring on children's tooth brushing habits using the wand's time table method. The type of research is quasi-experimental with a cross-sectional method and a one-group pretest and post-test design. The population was 15 students, while the sample was 20 based on the total sampling technique. From the results of the research carried out, it was found that parental monitoring of children's teeth brushing was partially in the good category, namely 4 respondents. The results of children's habits in brushing their teeth using the wand's time table method were mostly in the very good category, namely 16 respondents. The behavioral results (knowledge, attitudes, and actions) of children in brushing their teeth have increased after monitoring by parents using the wand's time table method, most of which are in the good category and have increased. The results of research conducted at Khalifah 4 Kindergarten show that there is an influence of parental monitoring using the wand's time table method on children's teeth-brushing habits, where ρ = 0.000. It is hoped that parents will gain insight into maintaining dental health in particular. Keywords: Habit; Changes in Behavior; Time Table :

Dental and oral health problems in Indonesia have increased based on the results of riskesdas in 2007 by 43.4% to 53.3% in 2013 and by 57.6% in 2018. The prevalence of caries in South Sulawesi is 55.54%, in the city Makassar as much as 52.09%, and in the 5-9 year age group as much as 65.51%. The source of dental health problems is generally closely related to oral hygiene maintenance behavior. To change bad behavior, one way is to intervene through education. The aim of this research is to determine the effectiveness of dental and oral health education using booklets, flipcharts, and animated videos to increase children's dental and oral health knowledge. This type of research has a pre-post test research design by providing three different intervention groups. Data analysis used the Friedman-Paired Test because the data was normally distributed. The research results showed that the p value m for the booklet and animated video media intervention group was 0.000 (p<0.05), which means that the booklet and animated video media were effective in increasing dental and oral health knowledge, while the p value for the flipchart intervention group was 0.115 (p>0.05), ) means that flipchart media is not effective in increasing knowledge of dental and oral health.

Mothers' oral health literacy is one of the key factors that can influence children's dental health. In communities with low education levels and health awareness, the risk of dental caries in children tends to be higher. This study aims to examine the relationship between mothers' oral health literacy and children's dental caries status in the slum areas of Makassar. This research is a cross-sectional study involving 101 mother-child pairs in Makassar. Data were collected through an oral health literacy questionnaire filled out by the mothers, and a dental caries index (def-t) examination for the children. Statistical analysis was conducted to assess the relationship between the mothers' oral health literacy and the children's dental caries index, as well as the influence of sociodemographic factors. The study found that the mothers' oral health literacy was divided into three categories: low (34.7%), medium (34.7%), and high (30.7%). The analysis showed no significant relationship between mothers' oral health literacy and children's dental caries status (p=0.113). However, there was a trend indicating a decrease in children's dental caries index as the mothers' oral health literacy increased. In addition, a comparative analysis revealed a significant relationship between the mothers' education level and oral health literacy (p=0.003). The conclusion of this study is that, although the direct relationship between mothers' oral health literacy and children's dental caries status was not statistically significant, improving oral health literacy remains crucial in the effort to prevent dental caries in children. Interventions focusing on enhancing mothers' oral health literacy, particularly among lower-educated communities, are expected to reduce the incidence of dental caries in children

Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) is a large family of viruses that can cause illnesses ranging from the common cold to respiratory infections. Healthcare workers are among the frontline responders in managing the coronavirus outbreak, especially when special protection is required due to the limited availability of personal protective equipment during the pandemic. The pandemic has had a negative impact on all aspects of health, including dental care. Although all professional groups are at high risk of contracting Covid-19, healthcare workers are the most vulnerable, particularly during procedures that can generate splashes or aerosols. This study aims to identify the preventive measures taken against Covid-19 transmission among healthcare workers in the Selayar Islands Regency, South Sulawesi. The research uses a cross-sectional design. Data collection was carried out through a survey using a questionnaire distributed via Google Forms. The data analysis technique used is descriptive. The results of the study show that both dentists and dental nurses in public health center and private clinics implement Covid-19 prevention measures and take more stringent actions before and after dental procedures in order to minimize the spread of Covid-19.

requiring promotional efforts through effective educational media. To improve children's understanding, effective, engaging learning media are needed, and they are appropriate to their cognitive characteristics. One such medium is audiovisual materials and flipcharts. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of audio-visual media and flipcharts in improving oral and dental health knowledge in elementary school students. The type of research used is quantitative with a Two Group Pretest-Posttest Design experiment on 88 respondents of fifth-grade students of Perumnas Elementary School, Makassar City, who were divided into two treatment groups of 44 students each. The research instrument was a questionnaire on oral and dental health knowledge given before and after counseling. The results showed a significant increase in knowledge in both groups with the Wilcoxon test (p = 0.000 <0.05). The average knowledge of students who were given counseling through audio-visual media increased from 56.93 to 81.02 with a difference of 29.09, while the flipchart group increased from 47.61 to 76.25 with a difference of 28.67. The conclusion of this study is that both media are proven to be effective in increasing knowledge of dental and oral health of elementary school students, but audio-visual media is more effective than flipcharts because it is able to attract students' attention through a combination of sound and moving images that make it easier to understand the information. Dental caries is a common oral health problem among elementary school children and is largely influenced by low levels of knowledge and improper tooth-brushing practices. This study aims to develop a digital picture storybook as an educational medium and to assess its feasibility and effectiveness in improving children’s knowledge of proper tooth-brushing techniques. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Product validation was conducted by material and media experts. Field testing was carried out with 30 students from grades III and IV at UPT SPF SDN Tamamaung, Makassar. Data were analyzed using the Shapiro–Wilk normality test and paired t-test. Material expert validation yielded a feasibility score of 75.56% (feasible), while media expert validation resulted in a score of 83.75% (highly feasible). Students’ responses regarding the media’s appearance and attractiveness showed a score of 95.3% (highly feasible). Pre-test and post-test data were normally distributed (p>0.05). The paired t-test results indicated a significant increase in knowledge following the educational intervention using the digital media (p<0.001). These findings indicate that the developed digital picture storybook is not only feasible but also effective in improving elementary school students’ knowledge of proper tooth-brushing techniques.
