Abstract

Caries is the most common disease faced by people in the world. Tooth decay is caused by excessive sugar intake, a lack of dental care, and difficulty accessing standard dental services. Irene's Donuts is a computer program created by Dr. Drg. Irene Adyatmaka that can now be launched using a smartphone thanks to modern technological advances. The program will display a big picture of a child's risk for the possibility of dental caries by filling in the risk factors related to the child's behavior, the condition of the child's dental health, the environmental conditions of the mother and child, knowledge, attitudes, and behavior. This study aims to determine the application of the Irene's Donuts (Innovative UKGS) method in reducing caries risk scores in children at Al-Bayan Integral Elementary School. This study used quantitative data analysis, namely univariate analysis. The sample in this study was obtained using the stratified sampling technique, totaling 69 students. Methods of data collection by way of observation using a questionnaire sheet. The results of the study show that the Irene's Donuts method can reduce the caries risk score by applying, giving efforts, and offering anticipation that can be done at home.  Keywords : Irene's Donuts; caries; behavior

Abstract

Dental and oral health problems, especially hygiene problems (OHI-S), are still often found in school children and adults. Dental and oral hygiene is a condition that shows that a person's oral cavity is clean from plaque, debris and calculus. This disorder triggers bacterial invasion to stick to the teeth and gums. School Dental Health Business (UKGS) is an effort to implement dental health in elementary school children by paying attention to the three main points of the UKGS program, namely providing dental and oral health education, health services and environmental development, so that optimal levels of dental and oral health can be achieved for school children. The UKGS program has been implemented for a long time, but dental health in school-age children is still not optimal, the aim of implementing UKGS is to improve dental and oral hygiene in school children. The method used is a quantitative method, with a cross sectional design with a sample of 85 people. Data from the results of the OHI-S examination and the results of interviews will be analyzed using SPSS 23. The implementation of UKGS at the BTN Pemda Inpres Primary School, in this research shows that there is no relationship between UKGS and dental and oral hygiene in students, although there are still several other factors which supports the dental and oral hygiene of students at SD Inpres Unggulan BTN, Makassar Regional Government.

Abstract

Pangkajene and Islands Regency is one of the regions in South Sulawesi with the highest prevalence rate of dental caries, reaching 55.83%. Dental caries is the most common dental and oral health problem in Indonesia, caused by a lack of knowledge about dental hygiene, which also affects people's skills in maintaining dental and oral hygiene. One of the vulnerable social groups that needs attention is children living in orphanages. The aim of the research was to determine the relationship between knowledge level and skill level on the prevalence of permanent dental caries in children at the Mattoanging Orphanage, Pangkajene District, Pangkep Regency. This research method is classified as a quantitative research type using a cross sectional approach design. The sampling technique used was total sampling where all members of the population totaling 45 people were sampled. The statistical test scale used is Chi-square with a significance limit of 5% (α = 0.05). The results show a significant relationship between the incidence of permanent dental caries and the level of knowledge (p-value 0.019) and the level of skill in maintaining oral hygiene (p-value 0.001). The conclusion is that there is an inverse relationship between the level of knowledge and the level of skill on the incidence of dental caries. The lower a person’s knowledge and skills in maintaining oral hygiene, the higher the chance of them experiencing dental caries.

Abstract

The prevalence of dental and oral diseases in Indonesia is still high, especially at ages 6-12 years. The results of Indonesian Basic Health Research in 2018 showed that the prevalence of dental and oral problems was 57.6% and those who received services from dental medical personnel were 10.2% (Riskesda, 2018), to overcome this, community health center officers have the authority to serve . community in handling dental and oral health problems. This study aims to determine the relationship between visits and education by community health center officers and the oral hygiene of students at SDN 92 Panaikang, Kec. East Sinjai, Sinjai Regency. This research is quantitative research. The sample used was 78 elementary school students in grades 4, 5, 6. Data collection was carried out by directly examining students' dental and oral health and determining their OHI-S scores as well as administering questionnaires regarding students' knowledge regarding dental and oral hygiene issues. Data analysis used Chi-square to see the relationship between visits and education from community health center staff and students' oral hygiene. The research results showed that there was an increase in students' knowledge and OHI-S scores after visits and education by community health center officers. The chi-square test results show that there is a significant relationship between students' level of knowledge and their OHIS scores (P=0.000). It can be concluded that there is a relationship between visits and education by community health center officers and the oral hygiene of students at SDN 92 Panaikang, Kec. East Sinjai Sinjai Regency.

Abstract

Asridiana2, Muhammad Ammar3 and Hendra Koesmara4 Email: asridosen369@gmail.com ABSTRACT Foot and mouth disease (FMD) is one of the most feared livestock diseases in the world. Clinical symptoms in infected cattle include fever and lesions on the lips, tongue and mouth. The emergence of FMD cases, especially in Aceh, has affected the trade in live cattle and goats in Aceh Besar Regency as one of the districts with the largest population of large livestock (cattle) in Aceh Province. The efforts made by the Aceh Besar District government in dealing with the FMD outbreak through implementing policies issued by the central government have been successful in reducing the spread of FMD to the point of zero cases. The research method used was a literature review approach and data observations in 21 sub-districts spread across the Aceh Besar Regency government area as one of the areas most affected by FMD in Aceh Province. This literature study aims to look at the government's role in handling and preventing the spread of livestock foot and mouth diseaseFrom In all this case, 12,180 livestock were successfully recovered, 24 were conditionally slaughtered, and 28 livestock died due to FMD. Aceh Besar Regency has 21 sub-districts affected by the FMD outbreak. Montasik District recorded the highest number of cases, namely 186,754 cases. As of August 2022, there were 2,189 animals infected with FMD. when the FMD outbreak started to occur, another obstacle felt by farmers was the minimal stock of cattle. This was caused by the closure of cattle entry routes between provinces and districts to prevent the increasingly massive transmission of FMD from cattle to cattle.

Abstract

Oral health is an important part of general health that affects quality of life. One of the government's efforts to improve the dental health of school-aged children is through the School Dental Health Program (UKGS). This study aims to determine the differences in oral health knowledge among teachers and students in elementary school with the UKGS program (SDN 24 Kalibone) and school without UKGS (SDN 25 Taraweang Kabba) in Pangkep Regency. This type of research is analytical observational with a cross-sectional approach. The study population was all teachers and fourth-grade students with a sample of 90 respondents using purposive sampling method. The research instrument was a questionnaire that has been tested for validity and reliability. The results showed that students in schools with  mostly had a good level of knowledge, while students in schools without UKGS were mostly in the fair category. Meanwhile, teachers both with and without UKGS were all in the good category, but teachers with UKGS had higher knowledge scores. Statistical tests showed a significant difference between the level of oral health knowledge of teachers and students with UKGS compared to those without UKGS. In conclusion, the UKGS program has proven to have a positive impact on increasing knowledge of dental and oral health among students and teachers.  Keywords : Dental; health; oral, knowledge; UKGS
