Abstract

Abstrak Lulusan perguruan tinggi sebagian besar masih mendambakan bekerja sebagai PNS atau pegawai swasta ketimbang menjadi seorang wirausaha. Padahal peluang untuk menjadi PNS sangat kecil bila dibandingkan jumlah lulusan perguruan tinggi tiap tahunnya, sehingga jumlah pengangguran lulusan perguruan tinggi masih menduduki tempat tertinggi dibanding lulusan pendidikan lainnya. Program Iptek bagi kewirausahaan (IbK) di Unsri diharapkan mampu menghasilkan wirausaha mandiri pada tahun 2012. Kajian ini bertujuan mengamati implementasi program IbK di UNSRI. Desain penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Pengumpulan data dengan cara wawancara mendalam, kuesioner dan pemeriksaan dokumen. Analisis data dengan cara reduksi data dan analisis SWOT. Temuan yang didapat dalam penelitian ini: motivasi mahasiswa untuk berwirausaha masih perlu ditingkatkan, metode jemput bola terbukti efektif sebagai sosialisasi dan seleksi program IbK, metode Coaching NLP terbukti berhasil meningkatkan usaha mahasiswa menjadi wirausaha mandiri. Dari 26 orang peserta IbK , 6 peserta telah berhasil menjadi wirausaha baru yang siap berkompetisi di masyarakat. Kata kunci: IbK, jemput bola, Coaching NLP,   Abstract The purpose of the research is to observe the implementation of the IbK program in UNSRI,the factors supparting dan inhibiting program, and found improvement strategy implementation IbK program. Design descriptive qualitative and quantitative research. Data collection by way of in-depth interviews, questionnarires and desk study. While the process of data analysis through data reduction and SWOT analysis. The implementation of IbK in 2012 UNSRI already running but is not optimal, mainly because of the student motivation to entrepreneurship still need to be improved, the method proved effective pick up the ball as sosialization and selection program, NLP coaching method proved successful in increasing student effort become independent entrepreneurs. Palembang: Unsri Press. Biofortification of Amaranthus sp and Ipomea Reptan Poir with iodine is one of the alternative strategies for the enrichment of iodine in vegetable plants. The leafy green vegetables are categorized as horticultural crops, these are easy to cultivate, cheap and affordable for people in rural areas. The aim of this research was to increase iodine concentration in the leaves of Kangkung (Ipomea reptan poir) and spinach (Amaranthus sp) grown in hydroponic culture and evaluate its effect on plant growth. The experiment was conducted from November 2018 to February 2019 at the Hydroponic Shade House, Department of Agronomy, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University.The design method used for this research was Completely Randomized Design (CDR) with 4 treatment of Iodine concentration in culture  solution and 4 replications. The treatments were: T0 = 0 ppm, T1 = 25 ppm KI, T2 = 50 ppm KI and T3 = 75 ppm KI, which comprises of 16 experimental units. Each unit of experiment consisted  of a container filled with 6 liters of A&B mix culture solution and    6 plants, i.e. 3 kangkung and 3 spinach were planted. Based on the results, it showed that the analysis of variance for plant height, leaves number, and chlorophyll content were not significantly different for both kangkung and spinach. While the ANOVA for fresh weight of kangkung leaves and stalks were highly significant, and the dry weight of kangkung leaves was significant. The   iodine in leaves   of kangkung (Ipomea reptan poir)   increased with the increasing the amount of iodine concentration supplementation in culture solution. The iodine content in leaves of T1 plant (25ppm) was between the range of 7-15ppm, for T2 plant (50ppm) while  in T3 plant (75 ppm) the iodine content in leaves was between the range of 20-27 ppm. Spinach plant  (Amaranthus sp) grow well only until the Iodine concentration,  treatment of 25 ppm (T1), and the iodine content in leaves reached the range of 7-15ppm. At   the  treatment of 50 ppm KI (T2)  and 75 ppm (T3)  leaves of spinach plants showed  heavy necrosis   as a symptom of  high iodine toxicity, and  plants was dry and died at three weeks after the  Iodine treatment.  In general, it is concluded that  biofortification of Iodine in the leafy green vegetables by applying hydroponic culture is possible.The highest concentration supplementation of Iodine in culture solution  for Iodine biofortification in  Spinach plant  (Amaranthus sp)  was  25 ppm, while for   kangkung (Ipomea reptan poir)  was  50 - 75ppm.Keywords: biofortification, iodine supplementation, hydroponic culture. kangkung, spinach

Abstract

Suwandi et al. 2012. Application of Extract Compost Increased Yield and Suppressed the Diseases of Ratoon Rice Crop in Tidal Swamp of Banyuasin Regency. JLSO 1(2):116-122.A field study was conducted to test the effects of the biofertilizer preparations on yield and diseases of ratoon rice crop in the reclaimed tidal swamp of Telang II, Banyuasin Regency of South Sumatra. The biofertilizer were prepared either as dormant inoculant in liquid formulation or active inoculant in compost extract. Both preparations contain chitinolytic, cellulolytic and phosphate solubilizing bacterial community. The result showed that the yield of ratoon crops of Ciherang rice variety in the suboptimal land increased by 67% (923 kg/Ha) in response to single spraying of the compost extract. The ratoon sprayed with the compost extract had a lower incidence of neck blast and panicle blight and produced less empty grains compared to non-sprayed control. The application of extract compost appears to be a feasible method for increasing production of ratoon rice in tidal swamps.

Susilawati et al, 2017. The Growth and Yield of Cauliflowers (Brassica oleraceae var. Botrytis L.) on Planted Media of Aquatic Weeds Compost. JLSO 6(1):43-48.The objective of this research was to know the growth and yield of cauliflowers on various planted media organic of compost aquatic weeds. This research was conducted from November 2016 to Febuary 2017. The research was rendomized block design with ten treatments and three replications.  Each unit consisted of 3 plants, so there were 90 plants.  The treatments were B0: (soil 100%), Be1 (75% soil: 25% water hyacinth fertilizer), Be2 (50% soil: 50% water hyacinth fertilizer), Be3 (25% soil: 75% water hyacinth fertilizer), Bu1 (75% soil: 25% hymenachne compost), Bu2 (50% soil: 50% hymenachne compost), Bu3 (25% soil: 75% hymenachne compost), Bi1 (75% soil: 25% salvinia compost), Bi2 (50% soil: 50% salvinia compost), Bi3 (25% soil: 75% salvinia compost). The result showed that the treatment 75% soil and 25% salvinia compost gave the best effects on weight flowers, leaf number, weight of fresh roots and weight of dry roots.

Abstract

Calcium (Ca) is one of the essential macrominerals needed by the human body as a major component in the formation of bones and teeth. Calcium is fulfilled by eating calcium-rich foods, both animal and vegetable. Mustard and lettuce are vegetables that can be a source of Ca. Efforts to increase the Ca content in plants can be done through increasing the concentration of Ca given through fertilizer or in nutrient solution. However, excessive Ca application is not recommended because it will be toxic to plants. This study aims to determine the effect of various Ca concentrations in hydroponic nutrient solutions on the growth and yield of mustard vegetables (Brassica juncea L) and lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.). This study used a floating hydroponic system with a completely randomized design. Treatment of Ca concentrations of hydroponic nutrient solutions that were tried were 0, 100, 200, 300, and 400 ppm. The parameters observed were plant height, number of leaves, level of greenness of leaves, fresh and dry weight, and concentration of calcium in the leaves. The results showed that Ca treatment significantly affected the number of leaves and the level of leaf greenness. Application of 400 ppm Ca in hydroponic nutrient solution is the highest Ca concentration that could increase Ca content in mustard and lettuce plants. Application of Ca 300 ppm is the highest concentration of hydroponic nutrient solution that can increase the Ca content of plants without causing a decrease in plant biomass, and therefore the treatment of Ca 300 ppm can be used for biofortification of Ca by hydroponic in mustard and lettuce plants.

Shallot as one of important crop commodities is considered to be able to adapt well to this floating systems. However, the use of inorganic chemicals should be minimized to avoid polluting the water below. Thus, this research was conducted to evaluate the effect of liquid organic fertilizer application on shallot plants grown on mixed media of cow manure in a floating system. This research was carried out at the reservoir of Agriculture Faculty of  Sriwijaya University Indralaya using a Randomized Block Design with 4 treatment levels and 3 replicates. The treatment was liquid organic fertilizer dose consisted of P0 = control (recommended dose of NPK fertilizer = 1,4 g NPK per polybag); P1 = 4 ml liquid organic fertilizer per liter; P2 = 8 ml liquid organic fertilizer per liter; P3 = 16 ml liquid organic fertilizer per liter. Parameters observed were plant length, leaf number, tiller number, leaf greenness, plant dry weight, bulb diameter, bulb fresh weight, and air-dried bulb weight. The results showed that the application of liquid organic fertilizer gave a positive effect compared to the control treatment. In general, P3 treatment was the best treatment as shown in growth and yield parameters.

Abstract

Susilawati et al, 2019.The Effect of Using Growing Media Composition on Growth and Yield of Shallot (Allium cepa L.). pp. 93-102.The aimed of research was to study the effect of using growing media composition on growth and yield of shallot (Allium cepa L.). Research was conducted from February until April 2017. Design used in this study was randomized block design (RBD) with 9 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments was A0 = Control (90% soil : 10% chicken manure), A1 = 80% soil : 20% cow manure, A2 : 70% soil : 30% cow manure, A3 = 60%  soil : 40% cow manure, A4 = 50% soil : 50% cow manure , A5 = 80% soil : 20% husk charcoal, A6 = 70% soil : 30% husk charcoal, A7 = 60% soil : 40%  husk charcoal, A8 = 50% soil : 50 husk charcoal. The results showed that the use of planting media composition of 60% soil : 40% of cow manure can improve the growth and yield of shallot plants better. This is consistent with plant height variables, number of leaves, number of tillers, number of tubers, fresh weight of tubers, and dry weight of tubers. The highest dry weight yield was found in the composition of 60% soil : 40% of cow manure with an average yield of 84.36 g per hill.

Abstract

Masyarakat Desa Tanjung Utara sebagian besar tidak memanfaatkan lahan atau pekarangan karena sering terjadi banjir secara periodik setiap tahun. Saat ini, Indonesia bahkan dunia sedang mengalami covid-19 yang tidak hanya membawa masalah kesehatan masyarakat, tetapi juga berimplikasi luas, seperti kelancaran distribusi pangan. Pemerintah melalui Kementerian Pertanian telah membentuk program Pekarangan Pangan Lestari. Program ini sangat tepat untuk diwujudkan di masa covid-19. Kegiatan ini bertujuan 1) Memberdayakan masyarakat untuk memanfaatkan pekarangan dengan menanam berbagai tanaman sayuran untuk pemenuhan gizi keluarga dan memberi penyuluhan tentang manfaat tanaman sayuran, 2) Mensosialisasikan program Pekarangan Pangan Lestari (P2L).  Melalui berbagai teknik budidaya yang dapat diterapkan dengan membuat demonstrasi plot (demplot) baik langsung lahan pekarangan maupun menggunakan metode-metode lain seperti small garden, hidroponik, vertikultur dan microgreens. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian telah meningkatkan pemahaman ibu-ibu  mengenai budidaya sayuran di pekarangan dan program pekarangan pangan lestari.

Abstract

Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk memberdayakan masyarakat Desa Permata Baru agar mampu melakukan budidaya tanaman pada lahan terbatas menggunakan metode hidroponik sederhana untuk dapat memenuhi kebutuhan gizi keluarga. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di Desa Permata Baru Kecamatan Inderalaya Utara Kabupaten Ogan Ilir Sumatera Selatan. Metode yang digunakan adalah penyampaian materi hidroponik, media tanam, nutrisi dan tahapan budidaya sayuran hidroponik. Untuk mengetahui kemampuan ibu-ibu dilakukan praktek langsung budidaya sayuran. Luaran dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah kelompok masyarakat di Desa Permata Baru mampu melakukakan budidaya sayuran dengan metode hidroponik sederhana secara 1] mandiri, 2] mampu menyediakan sayuran untuk konsumsi rumah tangga sebagai upaya peningkatan gizi keluarga, dan 3] mampu melakukan budidaya tanaman khususnya sayuran dengan metode hidroponik secara kontinyuitas. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian ini ibu-ibu kelompok wanita tani Permata Hijau mampu memproduksi sayuran antara lain Pakcoy putih, Selada merah, Selada hijau, Pakcoy hijau, Pakcoy merah, Caisim, Bayam merah dan Sawi pagoda dengan metode hidroponik sederhana Kata Kunci: Pemberdayaan, budidaya, hidroponik, lahan terbatas ABSTRACT The objective of this community service activity was to empower the people of Permata Baru Village to cultivate plants on limited land using a simple hydroponic method in order to meet family nutritional needs. This activity was carried out in Permata Baru Village, North Inderalaya District, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra. The method used was by giving courses of hydroponic material, planting media, nutrition and stages of hydroponic vegetable cultivation. Direct hydroponic practice for vegetable cultivation was also carried out to sharpen the participants’ skills. The output of this service activity was that community groups in Permata Baru Village could carry out vegetable cultivation using a simple hydroponic method 1] independently, 2] to produce vegetables for household consumption as an effort to improve family nutrition, and 3] to cultivate plants, especially vegetables with continuous hydroponic method. Through this service activity, it was resulted that women farmer groups in Permata Hijau were able to produce vegetables, including white bok choy, red lettuce, green lettuce, green bok choy, red bok choy, choy sum, red spinach and tatsoi using a simple hydroponic method.
