Abstract

Science learning often uses the lecture method which makes students less enthusiastic about learning. The aim of this research is to find out how the learning process works by applying experimental methods for carbohydrate content in healthy and nutritious food. This research uses interview and observation methods. Based on the results of research that has been carried out, it is easier for students to understand the material by using the experimental method. The experimental method is proven to provide experience and involve students directly in activities.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggali peran guru dalam pembentukan karakter siswa melalui pembelajaran Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan (PKn) pada siswa kelas 5. Pembentukan karakter merupakan salah satu tujuan utama pendidikan yang harus diintegrasikan dalam setiap aspek pembelajaran, termasuk PKn. Guru sebagai pendidik memiliki tanggung jawab besar dalam menanamkan nilai-nilai karakter yang positif seperti disiplin, tanggung jawab, dan kerja sama. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan penelitian perpustakaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru di berbagai sekolah memanfaatkan berbagai strategi dalam pembelajaran PKn untuk membentuk karakter siswa, seperti penerapan metode diskusi, pembelajaran berbasis nilai, serta pemberian contoh langsung. Selain itu, interaksi yang dilakukan oleh guru di luar jam pelajaran juga turut mendukung pembentukan karakter siswa. Secara keseluruhan, peran guru dalam pembelajaran PKn sangat vital untuk menciptakan siswa yang memiliki karakter kuat dan siap menghadapi tantangan dalam kehidupan bermasyarakat

Abstract

This study aims to explore the application of the innovative Flipped Classroom learning model to improve critical thinking skills in elementary school students. The Flipped Classroom model reverses the traditional learning sequence by providing learning materials to students before face-to-face sessions, allowing class time to be used for discussion, collaboration, and problem-solving. Through this approach, students are encouraged to be more active, independent, and reflective in the learning process. The research method used was a descriptive qualitative study using observation, interviews, and documentation techniques with teachers and fifth-grade students at an elementary school in Indonesia. The results indicate that the implementation of the Flipped Classroom significantly improves indicators of critical thinking skills, such as the ability to analyze, evaluate, and summarize information. These findings contribute to the development of learning strategies that align with the demands of the Independent Curriculum, which emphasizes differentiated learning and the strengthening of critical thinking skills.
