Abstract

Spatial geometry requires spatial-visual intelligence and cognitive skills to work on the problems and evaluations given. Children's spatial-visual intelligence and cognitive skills are still low due to teachers' lack of attention, so there are no special learning media to improve both understandings. This study aimed to determine the effect of using educational toys, namely Lego as an interactive toy on the spatial-visual abilities and cognitive skills of grade V students at Wonosari 1 State Elementary School. The type of research used in this research is quantitative research with pre-experimental methods and One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design research design. The sample used was the entire population of 50 students. Collection techniques using pretest and posttest were analyzed using the SPSS 25 application. Analysis using paired simple t-test obtained Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.000 <0.05 so that Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected. Because there is a significant difference, lego can improve spatial-visual intelligence and cognitive skills in learning geometry build space.

Abstract

The "Merdeka Curriculum" in Indonesia is designed to be implemented based on the unique needs and characteristics of each student, offering educational policies that provide greater freedom. Since 2021, this curriculum has been gradually introduced in elementary schools, supported by various learning resources and educator training. The Merdeka Curriculum at this level focuses on three key areas: innovation, independent learning, and creative learning, promoting an enjoyable and engaging educational experience. Indonesian elementary schools abroad adhere to both Indonesian government policies and the educational regulations of the host country. For instance, the Indonesian Elementary School in Jeddah continues to use the 2013 Curriculum and faces the challenge of integrating local and Indonesian cultures. Maintaining high educational quality is crucial for these schools, as it impacts the awareness and skills of their graduates. To support Indonesian students abroad in adapting to local culture, language, and traditions, it is proposed to assist teachers at the Indonesian Elementary School in Jeddah in developing learning tools based on Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) aligned with the Merdeka Curriculum. The results show that mentoring activities are effective in increasing participants' understanding of the CRT teaching module with an n-gain of 0.32 in the medium category.

Abstract

This community service aims to increase the understanding of Indonesian Davao School Teachers (SID) in the Philippines regarding the Strengthening Pancasila Student Profile Project (P5). Through an In House Training approach based on structured learning, this activity succeeded in increasing teachers' understanding of P5 implementation. The mentoring activities were attended by 20 teachers at SID from elementary, junior and senior high school levels. The results of the mentoring show that there is an increase in teacher understanding regarding the implementation of P5 in the Kurikulum Merdeka. This is shown by the increase in the results of the teacher pre-test and post-test at SID amounting to 25.33 with an n-gain of 0.39 in the medium category. This activity also identified the need for more specific and focused training to support the optimization of the implementation of the Kurikulum Merdeka. As a follow-up, this service will be directed at developing advanced training modules and providing project-based assessment assistance. In addition, collaboration with various parties will be strengthened to ensure program sustainability and improve the quality of learning that is more inclusive and meaningful. This activity is a strategic step in supporting the transformation of Indonesian school education abroad.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pemanfaatan urban farming dan dampaknya terhadap pembelajaran peserta didik kelas IV di SD Negeri Ngaliyan 01. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, observasi, angket, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan urban farming memberi dampak positif terhadap peningkatan pemahaman peserta didik dalam pembelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam (IPA) dan Matematika, khususnya pada materi fotosintesis, gaya, dan operasi hitung. Kegiatan ini juga menumbuhkan nilai-nilai karakter seperti tanggung jawab, kerja sama, dan kepedulian lingkungan. Program urban farming dilaksanakan secara terstruktur dengan melibatkan seluruh kelas dan guru melalui sistem jadwal mingguan serta pendampingan oleh petani cilik. Kegiatan juga diintegrasikan dengan pembelajaran kewirausahaan melalui event Market Day. Meski demikian, tantangan yang dihadapi meliputi rendahnya keterlibatan emosional peserta didik  dan sikap kewirausahaan yang belum merata. Untuk itu, pendekatan pembelajaran berbasis deep learning dan integrasi lintas mata pelajaran disarankan untuk meningkatkan efektivitas program. Urban farming terbukti sebagai media pembelajaran kontekstual yang tidak hanya memperkuat kompetensi akademik, tetapi juga membentuk karakter dan kecakapan hidup peserta didik secara menyeluruh.
