Abstract

Young teak leaves (Tectona Grandis L.f) contain anthocyanin pigments which can give a red color. Utilization of anthocyanin pigments can be used as natural dyes. The purpose of this study was to formulate a blush paste preparation using young teak leaf extract (Tectona grandis l.f) as a natural dye. This study uses an experimental method. The extraction method for teak leaf dyes uses the maceration method. In this study, 3 formulas for blush on were prepared in the form of pastes with various concentrations of 2.0%, 2.5% and 3% thick extract of teak leaves. Then a physical evaluation of the blush preparation was carried out which included organoleptic, homogeneity, pH, spreadability, irritation, hedonic, and stability tests. Based on the organoleptic tests carried out, it indicates that there is a change in color and stability is not good. The results of the spreadability test did not meet the standards and the results of the homogeneity test and the pH test showed that there were no coarse grains then the pH test was around 6 (according to the general skin pH interval) and did not cause irritation so it was safe to use on the skin. The results of the physical evaluation of the blush paste from young teak leaf extract met the standards. So teak leaf extract (Tectona grandis l.f) can be formulated as a blush paste. The results of the hedonic test showed that the blush paste using young teak leaf extract (Tectona grandis l.f) with a concentration of 2% was the most preferred by the panelists.

Abstract

Ikan gabus (Channa striata) mengandung albumin yang digunakan sebagai penyembuhan luka bakar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas gel albumin ikan gabus terhadap proses penyembuhan luka bakar pada tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus) dengan konsentrasi 5%, 10% dan 15%. Metode ekstraksi albumin dengan metode persebusan, sedangkan induksi luka dilakukan dengan menggunakan lempeng logam yang dipanaskan. Hasil rendemen ikan gabus yaitu sebesar 16%. Gel dievaluasi sifat fisik meliputi pengujian organoleptik, pengujian homogenitas, pengujian pH, pengujian daya sebar dan pengujian viskositas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dengan penambahan konsentrasi albumin warna yang dihasilkan semakin pekat, pH masing – masing sediaan memenuhi persyaratan pH standar 4,5 – 6,5. Daya sebar masing – masing sediaan mencapai daya sebar yang baik 5 – 7 cm. Viskositas F0, F1, F2 dan F3 masing – masing adalah 7557, 2554, 2179 dan 1084 cPs. Hasil diameter kontrol positif, F0, F1, F2, F3 diperoleh rata – rata persentase luka bakar meliputi 72,96%; 59,76%; 62,72%; 77,36%; 71,76%. Sediaan gel albumin dengan konsentrasi 15% menunjukkan efek penyembuhan luka bakar paling maksimal.

Abstract

Limbah dari ikan patin dapat berupa kepala, kulit, isi perut, ekor, tulang, daging serta hati dalam isi perut. Hasil dari limbah pengolahan ikan patin dapat mencapai 76% dari total berat ikan patin yang akan diolah. Hasil pengolahan perikanannya berpotensi yang menghasilkan bahan sisa berupa limbah ikan patin dengan jumlah sekitar 182,88-548 ton pertahunnya, pengolahan ikan patin juga dapat digunakan sebagai tepung ikan dan pakan ternak. Tujuan pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian yakni pemanfaatan limbah isi perut ikan patin sebagain produk pakan kucing dan digital marketing. Kegiatan ini telah berhasil dilaksanakan dengan berkolaborasi tim pengabdi yang berasal dari tiga program studai yang ada di Prodi Farmasi, Prodi Pendidikan Dokter dan Prodi Bisnis Digital. Kegiatan dilaksanakan dengan melibatkan mahasiswa. Kelompok sasaran pada kegiatan ini adalah siswa SMKN 8 Pekanbaru berjumlah 60 orang. Metode yang digunakan meliputi penyuluhan, diskusi interaktif, dan evaluasi menggunakan instrumen pretest dan posttest. Hasil pretest menunjukkan rata-rata pemahaman siswa mampu menjelaskan kembali konsep pemanfaatan limbah patin dan strategi pemasaran digital. Kegiatan ini berhasil meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terkait pemanfaatan limbah isi perut ikan patin sebagai pakan kucing sekaligus memperkenalkan keterampilan digital marketing. Hasil ini memperkuat temuan penelitian sebelumnya bahwa edukasi berbasis praktik dan kolaborasi lintas disiplin efektif dalam meningkatkan literasi kewirausahaan siswa.

Abstract

Cream is a semi-solid preparation, using an emulsion containing not less than 60% water. Salicylic acid, an anti-acne and keratolic agent, is commonly administered topically. This study aims to analyze salicylic acid levels in anti-acne creams sold online and in pharmacies. Quantitative Testing uses UV -Vis Spectrophotometry and Alkalimetry. Quantitative testing using UV-Vis Spectrophotometry, there were 3 samples sold in pharmacies containing salicylic acid with sample levels A 1.568%, B 1.755%, C 0.895%, and samples sold online contained salicylic acid with sample levels D 0.151%. Alkalimetric quantitative testing, 3 samples sold in pharmacies contained salicylic acid with sample levels A 0.71%, B 0.36%, C 0.48%, and samples sold online contained salicylic acid with sample levels D 0, 42 %. Based on BPOM requirements, the permitted level of salicylic acid in cosmetics does not exceed 2%, so the anti-acne cream product meets BPOM requirements. The salicylic acid level was tested using Uv-Vis spectrophotometry and analyzed using Kruskal Wallis with a significance value of 0.00 (P0.05). It was said that the spectrophotometric method influenced determining the salicylic acid level from samples A – D. The salicylic acid level used alkalimetry. Homogeneity test with the Homogeneity of Variances test with a significance value of P (0.104 - 0.05) homogeneous data. Data were analyzed using ANOVA. The results of the One Way Anova test analysis show a significance value of 0.00 (P 0.05), so the salicylic acid levels of samples A – D carried out using alkalimetry show a significant difference between the 4 samples tested.

Abstract

Hypertension and blood pressure variability (BPV) are recognized as modifiable risk factors for dementia, yet evidence in Asian populations remains limited. This study systematically evaluated the association between antihypertensive therapy, BPV, and dementia risk in Asia. A systematic search of ScienceDirect, PubMed, and MEDLINE (2010–2024) was conducted following PRISMA guidelines. Studies reporting hazard ratios (HRs) for dementia outcomes in Asian populations were included. Of 1,246 identified records, 22 studies met criteria for qualitative synthesis and 15 were included in the meta-analysis (11 cohort, 4 case-control). Antihypertensive therapy was associated with reduced dementia risk (pooled HR ≈ 0.84), while high BPV was linked to increased risk (pooled HR ≈ 1.23). Meta-regression identified study design and mean age as sources of heterogeneity. Overall, antihypertensive therapy appears protective, whereas elevated BPV increases dementia risk in Asian populations, emphasizing the importance of both blood pressure control and stability in preventing cognitive decline.
