Abstract

It turns out that the phenomenon in teaching Arabic is that students' thinking skills are still low. This phenomenon is evident in the number of students who give wrong answers to Arabic language questions that require deep thinking during Arabic language teaching. This is not consistent with the current curriculum that requires students to develop their mentality, specifically to think either critically or creatively. This phenomenon indicates that the level of thinking skills, especially in short-term memory, among students is still low. Therefore, the aim of this research is to develop the game "Brain Adventure" to develop short-term memory among students in teaching Arabic to sixth grade primary school students. The method used in this research is developmental research with the ADDIE development model. This model is implemented in several stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The researchers focused on the first four stages. The results of this research are: the first stage of this research is the analysis of the curricula, the analysis of the materials, and the analysis of the students' memory abilities. The second stage is the design of questions and materials according to the curriculum. The third stage is the development of the game using the adventure model. The fourth stage is the implementation, which includes testing the material experts and educational media experts before implementing the developed game on small topics. As for the results of the questionnaire, the level of feasibility of the adventure game from the experts falls into the value "very good". This indicates that this game is suitable for use in teaching the Arabic language as a teaching tool to develop short-term memory in students.

Abstract

In learning Arabic, the ability to speak is often a challenge for many students due to limitations in vocabulary acquisition, understanding of grammar, and confidence to speak the language. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of charades and style games in improving the maharah kalam skills of Assalafi Al Fithrah Surabaya Islamic boarding school students. This game learning of guessing words and styles is applied in the ulya PI language room where members consist of different levels and language abilities. So that this game, has disadvantages, namely because of the different levels of maharah kalam, but this game also makes language learning more active and fun and the students of the language room are more confident in conveying something that is contained in the thoughts and ideas that arise, and this game can add new vocabulary. The objectives of this research are: (1) the use of the word and movement guessing game to promote the teaching of speech skill for female students of the Salafi institute (2) the motivating and inhibiting factors in using the word and movement guessing game to promote the teaching of speech skill for female students of the Salafi institute. The researcher used a qualitative qualitative approach, meaning a descriptive analytical method. The method of collecting data by direct observation, interview, and documentation. The results of the research from the researcher's presentation are: (1) Overcoming the challenge of teaching speech skill in the upper language class for female students due to the diversity of students' abilities and the assumption of Arabic language difficulty through the effective and fun way of the word and movement guessing game. The observations showed an increase in speech skill after applying this method, which aims to increase vocabulary, sentence formation and practice.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to describe the characteristics of learning maharah qira’ah using the book Cara Cepat Bisa Baca Kitab Metode 33, which is implemented at the Al-Hasyim Islamic Boarding School in Mayangan, Jogoroto, Jombang. Design/Methodology/Approach – This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. The research was conducted at Al-Hasyim Islamic Boarding School in Mayangan, Jogoroto, Jombang. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out qualitatively using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing techniques. Findings – Learning maharah qira’ah using the book Cara Cepat Bisa Baca Kitab Metode 33 combines linguistic tools (namely nahwu and sharaf) with reading practice. Knowledge of nahwu and sharaf rules serves as a foundational provision for students in reading and understanding the meaning of Arabic texts. This learning is conducted during the morning diniyah activities in the wustho class every day. The learning process consists of three stages: opening activities, core activities, and closing activities. The core activities follow the systematic approach of the book, which includes vocabulary (mufrodat), grammatical rules, and exercises. Research Limitations/Implications – The limitations of this study lie in its scope, which is confined to Al-Hasyim Islamic Boarding School and thus cannot be generalized to other institutions. In addition, the short duration of the study means that the long-term implementation and effectiveness of the Cara Cepat Bisa Baca Kitab Metode 33 book are not yet fully understood.
