Abstract

The era of globalization compels Islamic educational institutions to continuously innovate in order to remain relevant and competitive amidst increasingly complex market dynamics. This study aims to describe the implementation of the Blue Ocean Strategy at Madrasah Aliyah Ihsaniyya Yogyakarta as an effort to strengthen adaptive strategic management oriented toward creating new market spaces. This research employed a qualitative method with a descriptive analytical approach, utilizing observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation techniques. The findings indicate that Madrasah Aliyah Ihsaniyya applies the three main characteristics of the Blue Ocean Strategy focus, divergence, and a compelling motto realized through its Digital Entrepreneurship program integrated with Islamic values. This strategy enables the madrasah to build a competitive advantage without being trapped in conventional competition (Red Ocean). These findings highlight the critical role of value innovation in developing strategic management within Islamic educational institutions to enhance quality, relevance, and competitiveness in the digital era. It is expected that this study can serve as a reference for education managers in designing creative and contextual strategic management frameworks.

Abstract

The purpose of the article is to examine the implementation of humanistic values in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) at the Yayasan Pembina Generasi Muda 1 Vocational High School in Sleman, Yogyakarta. Using a qualitative case study approach, this study involved five key informants, including three teachers and two students. Data collection was conducted for two weeks, from May 5, 2024, through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out in four steps: data collection, data condensation, data display, and conclusion. The study findings show that PAI teachers have systematically implemented the humanistic learning approach through adaptive lesson design, varied methods, and provided students with space for expression and freedom in learning. Teachers act as facilitators and motivators. At the same time, students are encouraged to be more active and reflective in the learning process. The compatibility between the Merdeka Curriculum and Islamic values supports the implementation of the humanistic learning approach. These findings contribute to enriching the literature on humanistic-based PAI learning practices in the context of vocational schools. Additionally, this study provides practical insights for educators and policymakers to develop a more participatory, inclusive, and holistic student potential development-oriented PAI learning model.

Abstract

Education is a crucial component of life and has been a topic of discussion among scholars, including Imam al-Ghazali. This research examines the methodology of Islamic education from al-Ghazali's perspective. The results indicate that al-Ghazali's educational methodology emphasizes religious and moral education. He argues that the goal of Islamic education is to form a perfect human being. Al-Ghazali's thoughts lean towards education in faith, morals, intellect, social aspects, and physical well-being. In curriculum development, al-Ghazali adopts two approaches: religious and pragmatic. According to his perspective, Islamic education materials include faith education, moral education, intellectual education, social education, and physical education. Al-Ghazali stresses that a good teacher must be intelligent, wise, and possess commendable qualities. Meanwhile, students should be humble, cleanse themselves of bad traits, be obedient, and maintain consistency. Educational evaluation encompasses all activities related to responsibility in the educational process. This research provides insights into al-Ghazali's educational methodology in achieving national education goals, considering the challenges of evolving times and other influencing factors.
