Abstract

Abstract

This development research aims to produce a product in the form of an Electronic Student Worksheet (E-LKPD) based on the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model by utilizing the Liveworksheet platform. The E-LKPD is expected to improve students’ understanding of fractions, specifically among fourth-grade elementary school students. The study was motivated by the low level of student comprehension in learning fraction material. The research method used is Design and Development (D&D), as developed by Richey and Klein, with the ADDIE development model, the study was conducted in the fourth grade of SD Negeri Gamping. Data collection instruments included expert validation sheets, teacher response questionnaires, and student response questionnaires. The results of this study are (1) Material expert validation obtained a percentage value of 87.5% (very decent). (2) Media expert validation obtained a percentage value of 81.8% (very decent). (3) Teacher response obtained a percentage value of 96.4% (very good). (4) Students response obtained a percentage value of 88.9% (veri good). (5) The average result of working on E-LKPD questions using the Liveworksheet website for students in groups is 86.7%. From the validation result, the the E-LKPD product is included in the “very decent” and “very good” criteria to be used as one of the supports in the technology-based learning process and interactive digital teaching materials in Mathematics subjects with fraction material. The development of E-LKPD based on PBL learning model is able to build students' enthusiasm through the presentation of challenging contextual problems, encourage active involvement during the learning process, support a deeper understanding of fraction concepts and strengthen students' readiness in facing learning challenges in the digital era.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to map the evolution, influence, and thematic structure of global research on Differentiated Instruction (DI) published between 2005 and 2025. It examines the field’s developmental trajectory, key contributors, and emerging research directions that reflect the growing emphasis on inclusive and adaptive education. Methods: A bibliometric approach was conducted using 743 documents indexed in the Web of Science Core Collection. Analyses were performed with RStudio and VOSviewer to assess publication growth, citation patterns, co-authorship networks, and keyword co-occurrences. The study also identified thematic clusters and trend topics to trace the conceptual and methodological development of DI scholarship over two decades. Results: The findings indicate an annual growth rate of 11.77%, demonstrating that DI has developed into a dynamic and interdisciplinary research domain. The United States, Germany, and China emerged as the most influential contributors, while Teaching and Teacher Education and the International Journal of Inclusive Education were identified as leading journals. Four dominant research clusters were revealed: inclusive education, teacher professional development, technology integration, and student achievement. Novelty: This study provides the first comprehensive bibliometric mapping of DI research spanning 20 years, highlighting the shift from traditional differentiation toward digitally adaptive and equity-oriented pedagogies. The findings offer an evidence-based overview that supports the advancement of 21st-century inclusive teaching.

Abstract

This study aims to integrate ethnomathematics into numeracy instruction in non-formal education settings and to test the effectiveness of its application in improving the numeracy skills of elementary school-aged children through non-formal education, with the goal of creating contextual and meaningful learning experiences. The study was conducted in Sukodono Village, Pacitan, which possesses a wealth of contextual cultural practices that serve as a resource for numeracy learning. The methods used were a mixed-methods study with an ethnographic approach to explore cultural practices, as well as a one-group pretest–posttest pre-experimental design to test improvements in numeracy skills. The research subjects consisted of cultural experts, teachers, elementary school-aged children, and parents, with a sample size of 16 students selected using purposive sampling. Quantitative data were analyzed using a paired samples t-test and N-Gain, while qualitative data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The research findings indicate that various local cultural practices contain mathematical concepts relevant to numeracy learning, such as geometry, measurement, patterns, and comparisons, which were identified in the contexts of agate stones, the Ceprotan traditional ceremony, and Rontek art. The findings suggest a trend toward improved student numeracy skills, as evidenced by moderate N-Gain scores and significant differences in paired t-test results. These findings confirm that the integration of ethnomathematics into numeracy learning not only strengthens contextual conceptual understanding but also serves as a relevant and meaningful alternative learning strategy, particularly within non-formal education pathways rooted in local culture.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of the Somatic, Auditory, Visual, Intellectual (SAVI) learning method in enhancing the poetry reading skills of fifth-grade elementary school students. Employing a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest design, the research involved 36 fifth-grade students from Muhammadiyah Condongcatur Elementary School. Data were collected through structured observation sheets and analyzed using a paired sample t-test. The results indicate a statistically significant improvement in students' poetry reading skills following the intervention, with a significance value of 0.001 (< 0.05). The mean score increased by 30.72 points from pretest to posttest, demonstrating a substantial gain in performance. These findings lead to the conclusion that the SAVI method is an effective instructional strategy for significantly improving poetry reading proficiency in the target student population.

Abstract

This study analyzes how a school principal’s transformational leadership improves teacher performance at an elementary school in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The research is grounded in the premise that teacher performance is critical to educational quality and that principals play a strategic role in guiding teaching and learning. A qualitative case study design was employed, involving the principal and teachers as participants, to gain an in-depth understanding of leadership strategies. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, non-participant observations, and document analysis, with methodological triangulation enhancing data validity. The principal was found to consistently practice all four dimensions of transformational leadership (Idealized Influence, Inspirational Motivation, Intellectual Stimulation, and Individualized Consideration). Through these practices, the principal served as a disciplined role model, clearly articulated an inspiring vision, fostered innovation via professional development, and provided personalized support to teachers. As a result, teachers’ motivation, commitment, and performance showed significant improvement, leading to higher instructional quality and better student outcomes. These findings provide empirical evidence of the effectiveness of transformational leadership in the primary education context, underscoring the crucial role of principals in creating collaborative, innovative, and quality-oriented school environments.
